    Very interesting, thanks. With a scientific background, I was quite sceptical of affirmations and manifesting but the more I read, the more I’m open to the idea.

    In terms of watching videos at 2x speed, I heard it will result in you becoming impatient with people, something that will affect your social skills (listening skills perhaps)

      Yes, good point. I guess that's the downside of becoming more intelligent, Other people will seem slower and dumber.

      @nicholasfigueiredo3171 9 днів тому +1

      Wait... You guys watch at 2x speed? THAT'S SO FUCKING SLOW(I watch at 4.1~6.2 with "video speed controller" plugin)... Real life is different from a video, the audio is not perfect, you need to pay attention to facial expressions, body movement, movement of the eyes of the person and tone (beside the normal content of the speech).

      @@nicholasfigueiredo3171 that's like the speed reading nonsense. these people read things and retain them for all of 5 seconds but ask them later and they remember absolutely nothing or have absorbed about 1% of what was said. research shows most people can do it up to 3x but comprehension drops drastically after that.

    Baseline: Modern IQ is defined as an average of 100, a standard deviation of 15, and IQ test percentile scores are mapped to that scale.
    Without studies and findings to back these things up, this is essentially just a gish gallop of anecdotes... Given how outlandish an increase of 50 IQ points is (Smallest gap is bypassing 10,934,173 ranks by starting from an IQ of 144 or an IQ of 6, Largest gap is bypassing 7.3 billion ranks by starting from an IQ of 75, and starting from 145 or higher, or 5 or lower, actually just makes it a mathematical impossibility. An IQ of 196 is by definition the most intelligent person among 12.8 billion people... No one has that kind of sample size, in large part because of it's scale, as well as the limitation of the actual human population.) I'm not seeing a lot of reason to accept what you're saying.

    • @jacksonh2083
      @jacksonh2083 2 дні тому +1

      And iq of 196 does not mean someone is the most intelligent person out of all those people lol. I agree with almost everything you said, but IQ doesn’t define intelligence, the two are correlated. You can be smarter than someone that has a higher IQ than you, though. Genuinely smarter, I’m not conflating intelligence with knowledge. I agree with basically everything else, tho

    • @zerrubabbel
      @zerrubabbel День тому

      There's only so much I can say in a UA-cam comment... I agree though, IQ and Intelligence are two different things... So if you're pointing out that IQ is the measurement, I agree... But if you mean something else, I'll listen to your elaboration.

      A 50 point increase sounds like fiction. Maybe 10 or so points. You can get better at doing iq tests through practice. I have done a few in the past. Stopping drinking alcohol was definitely 1 thing that improved mine. Ecstasy and mushrooms might have had an effect also. I do quizzes on a daily basis and my memory is definitely good. I have raised mine from 114 to 120. But have I really gotten any smarter or just better at the test?

    • @zerrubabbel
      @zerrubabbel 23 години тому

      @@winstonsmith6552 I look at it like this, and maybe it's faulty, but I think it's at least pretty close: Physical fitness and cognitive fitness have a lot in common... Which is to say that you have some biological limit which signifies the highest you could possibly go under ideal conditions. But you also are where you are now, which is determined by your self care habits, and your practice.
      So yes, I do think a lot of people can improve their intelligence to some degree if they make effort to improve their self care and cognitive fitness. But not everyone can be Usain Bolt, or Albert Einstein... Usain Bolt can't outrun even a house cat, and Einstein couldn't unify General and Special Relativity... Our limits are out there somewhere, no matter who we are.

    As for your last point for watching at 2x the speed, is this way of information processing different than your previous point of reading meticulously and making sure no words, sentences, or concepts goes misunderstood or ignored? I guess if you can watch at increased speeds and still know the words but string the concepts together faster due to the faster speed that is fine but how does it compare to scrupulous nature of reading, assuming you are not using an audiobook? I did like your concepts in the video about how the brain maps the outside world onto itself and how disorderly, understimulating, or distracting stimuli externally, even if it is a subconscious recognition of weakness in physical health, can distract by having your brain function in a less dynamic or distracted place.

    • @neilcarpenter1972
      @neilcarpenter1972  19 днів тому +1

      I see your point. Watching on x2 speed and meticulously reading are different, almost contradictory methods. Watching/listening on x2 speed is most workable if the information is fully understandable, otherwise the slow and careful method is the most effective. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching.

    • @jacksonh2083

      If you’re clever enough, life becomes longer. Plus, why/hows that? To me, all there is to life is that. It is my entire life’s purpose and I see nothing meaningful outside of it. Your mind is your most powerful tool and if you train it literally every aspect of your life will change. Your entire perspective of reality will change

    Dont waste time.
    Crosswords and intellectual games don't actually increase iq instead they only use the current knowledge.
    Physical development and intellectual development go hand in hand.
    Take a detox to reduce chemical toxins in your body.
    Do out-door walking.
    Tidy your mind by removing your negative thoughts and thinking critically.
    Read books with complete comprehension of each word. Everytime you come across a word you don't understand, look it up because you may not care about the meaning but your mind does.
    Watch UA-cam on higher speeds to help enhance the brain's speed.
    By doing these you can increase your iq by 50 points.

    • @jacksonh2083
      @jacksonh2083 2 дні тому

      With all due respect, 50 is a little radical. Even for the most promising methods of increasing IQ, as supported by research, a 50 point increase is unheard of. At most, I’d expect a 10-20 point increase. There isn’t research for much outside of this range, though. Hell, there isn’t much research within it, just a lot more than there is outside of it.
      Imo your best bet is n-back (recommend quad n-back on brainworkshop w/ only pentominoes and tetrominoes-fixed for the images), exercise, a healthy diet, and integrating aspects of relational frame theory into cognitive training. Study logic/math and do hard logic/math problems, like ones math olympiads train with and stuff. Even with all of this, though, I wouldn’t expect more than a 20 point increase
