What a coincidence! I'm legally Skye and legally male! YAY!! I went to court yesterday! I didn't have to say anything at the hearing. The judge just called me up, and all he said was, "Well, it's official!" and he gave me a big smile! :-D My sister, who went to court with me, did a victory dance with me outside of the courthouse! :-)

Cool video. I look forward to more of them. I've wondered if I'd have wanted to transition if I had the option when I was younger, but it's already hard to get boyfriends just not being a feminine female. I do feel a bit of envy for people who have transitioned to male, but it seems like it's a very mentally and physically challenging thing to go through.

I hope I can bring a letter from any kind of doctor 'cause in my country it is hard to find gender therapists . I hope I can have the surgery without a letter saying that I'm trans Have a great day Sam ! You should do a video with your parents 'cause they seem really nice people.

Yes, when I had top surgery I certainly did not ID fully as male, in fact I still don't 100%, but in order to gain access that's the route I had to go. Good luck!!

Hi Julia! I don't know if Dr. Garramone does that. When I had surgery I had to provide a letter from a doctor about being mentally male and diagnosed as trans. But it is definitely worth contacting his office to find out! You might just need a letter that says you are okay to have the surgery and not say the male part. His staff is really nice and you can find the contact info through his website. Good luck! If he doesn't do it I know it is done and you just have to find the right doctor!

hey! i totally understand. i went the route of explaining the traditional trans narrative vs. the non-traditional and explained how when i realized the distinction it meant that i am able to access certain aspects of traditional transition that make me feel comfortable in my body, regardless of social constructions of binary male and female. might that kind of contextual explanation be helpful?

haha, yeah, that just never gets old. :) the whole explanation is "he does me in the butt once a week when we're both ready. then we hug and talk about how it was for both of us." all of which is completely true. :) -- yeah the hysto thing is a big deal. i also went to a workshop about bottom surgery (metoidioplasty) and was intrigued but doubt i will do it... lots to think about.

you know, i am not 100% sure why the left nipple didn't make it, but my best guess is because i neglected to take the best care while i was traveling and going to gender odyssey one month post-op. i didn't change the dressing for over a day and the whole thing is to keep it moist and fresh and clean. so it was likely my own fault that it rejected. i was a really good patient but then during that trip it got away from me. :( definitely follow ALL the instructions to a T!

oh it just used to be awkward, and more and more awkward as i was on hormones longer. going to the airport looking male but with elizabeth identification was just not fun. i used to not speak as much as possible, smile a lot at the ATA agent, and get through as quickly and under the radar as possible. its so much better now.

yeah the brain thing is really complicated so i'll try to explain what i understood the best i can. hopefully i can get some info from the person who ran the workshop to supplement my limited knowledge about it. :)

ooo I wanna hear about the brain thing! I have heard that hormones affect your brain, and thinking about that totally freaks me out... but I'd like to know more about it anyway :p Also, glad to hear your friend is still doing you in the butt weekly :) excellent word choice.
