Would appreciate if you'd make more videos to share your experiences and teach about gender dysphoria and reconciling XX with masculinity in your new life. Wishing you well and safety/ happiness. Thank you
You're perspectives are unique. Glad to see how comfortable you've become with your decision. I wanted to attend that workshop and then forgot about the time. Good luck with your teaching, thesis work and job search.
good luck with your family as well! and i love that the not quite feeling male thing resonated with you. there are so many different ways of being trans! :) and its so important to put these points of view out there!
My friend is about 4 years into transition at age 60 after fighting so many years to play the role of male. She's also so much happier and at peace finally. It's a very unique journey and without you being willing to share your experiences we wouldn't understand or know how to receive it and support/ love you guys the way you deserve. I adopted my friend like a sister. Her channel is "Forever Forbidden" and her name is Brooke ❤ I hope the years and been kind to you, you deserve it! Heaven loves you just as much now as before your transition 🕊
oh it just used to be awkward, and more and more awkward as i was on hormones longer. going to the airport looking male but with elizabeth identification was just not fun. i used to not speak as much as possible, smile a lot at the ATA agent, and get through as quickly and under the radar as possible. its so much better now.
Great video. I love the interaction you had with your aunt. I hope my extended family will be that accepting and remember that I'm still me. Good to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't been able to complete accept the male identity. I'm definitely a work in progress. Take Care.
hey! i totally understand. i went the route of explaining the traditional trans narrative vs. the non-traditional and explained how when i realized the distinction it meant that i am able to access certain aspects of traditional transition that make me feel comfortable in my body, regardless of social constructions of binary male and female. might that kind of contextual explanation be helpful?
hey! i have to look back at my notes from the workshop, that really felt like an upper level science class lecture. complicated. good point about them being potentially out of date and lacking in other ways too. i'll check it out and work on that vid soon.
Wow sam, I can't believe it's been 2 years!!! Much love to you! I'm overdue on making my 8 YR ON T video, if you can believe that!!! lol I'll try to get that made soon.
you know, i am not 100% sure why the left nipple didn't make it, but my best guess is because i neglected to take the best care while i was traveling and going to gender odyssey one month post-op. i didn't change the dressing for over a day and the whole thing is to keep it moist and fresh and clean. so it was likely my own fault that it rejected. i was a really good patient but then during that trip it got away from me. :( definitely follow ALL the instructions to a T!
yeah the brain thing is really complicated so i'll try to explain what i understood the best i can. hopefully i can get some info from the person who ran the workshop to supplement my limited knowledge about it. :)
Did they have more recent studies to base the brain on hormones on? I remember having to read those studies for a class and the only measurements they could take were post mortum so there wasnt much to base pre transition brain structure on. And the studies I read were severely out of date I think from the 1940-50s or something like that...its been awhile since I read them.
I too would love to hear about how hormones change your brain, and specifically your experiences with how you believe testosterone may have changed your brain.
Sam, was the loss of your left nipple a rejection of the graft or an accident? I'm about to make appointments for my top surgery consults and I need to be armed with information. Yes, make a vid on your "brain thing". :D You look great!
Hey Sam. You look and sound great it's just that your voice and the shape of your face have changed quite a lot. Will you please talk more about the way that hormones change your brain. Do they make you think and feel like a man or what exactly happens?. It would be realy interesting to find out. Have a nice day!
haha, yeah, that just never gets old. :) the whole explanation is "he does me in the butt once a week when we're both ready. then we hug and talk about how it was for both of us." all of which is completely true. :) -- yeah the hysto thing is a big deal. i also went to a workshop about bottom surgery (metoidioplasty) and was intrigued but doubt i will do it... lots to think about.
haha, i actually said that in the video i made about being an ally that i just re-watched the other day. i am doing well, busy with the end of the semester. how are you?
theres a piece of crap on the lens, no there isn't it's a glare hahaha, hey, I watched your vids a bit back a while ago, I think I've watched this one before, what's new :)

Talk about the brain thing. Wonderful vid. Expresses how I've been dealing with the segue into passing more.

Off topic, but I have always wondered what happened to you. I used to watch your vids all the time.
