Bike Rack 2.0 - Interior Ford Super Duty - Fits 2 eMTB Bikes! | Part 24
Bike Rack 2.0 - This is essentially the original bike rack we built over 4 years ago (see original video). It was built for our 2019 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab. We then moved it to our 2020 Ford F250 Super Cab.
But we needed to modify it further to fit the longer / taller Trek Rail eMTB bikes (29" tires). This Rack 2.0 version video shows how the rack works. We also show how we use the storage area.
Interior bike racks are the BEST option for those with expensive bikes. It gives much greater security and protection from weather (dirt, dust, rain, snow). Plus, having your bikes onboard offers flexibility for those quick last minute bike rides.
Hope this video will give you ideas on what is possible!

      No thanks. Diesels are much too complicated. Most repairs dealers will remove the truck cab (faster due to how cramped the engine bay is). This motor is proven to be 500k plus if maintained. Diesel power is nice but not worth the trade offs for me.

      Every oil change 3k miles. Issue is the tire carcass design. Yokohama has the same issue with the MT tires. It is accentuated by heavy loads at higher pressure. We always ran proper pressure for actual loads within tire recommendations. Our replacement tires on the same truck after 1yr and 10k miles have no issues. It is not a truck issue or maintenance issue. It is a tire design problem. Still solid tire. Track well. Durable.

    I'm looking into a mobile grooming business and I'm comparing the ideas of either a mobile elite unit or truck/camper/trailer 14' or smaller. this is a great video with information to help with the base ideas. I am not experienced at towing and backing up a trailer so I would want a newer truck with a backup assist like the Toyota trucks, but I'm partial to dodge or chevy. everything we have, tools, supplies ETC are all GM based..

    • @TruckCamper

      Trailers are a hassle and can be tricky to tow/park. Just need to gain experience. Ideally not relying on the "tech" but learn the skills to maneuver and haul properly. That being said... the biggest benefit of a trailer is the ability to drop anywhere. Everything is a trade off!

    The places I've worked over the last 28 years in wireless have nearly all ran super dutys. a few chevys in the mix which I have a few months, maybe 10k miles. but I'll touch on that later. I've put a lot of off road miles on super duties. They're long and as a work truck can be pretty heavy(all diesels) with a service bed full of tools and hardware can push you over 10k lbs. easy. While not rock crawling, roads up to mountain top microwave sites span the range of maintained, smooth dirt, sand pit to rocky moonscape. They get there. They're stiff so you might be a little taxed. The hill descent on the newer ones makes coming back down little trouble. Stock suspension and at best some BFG KO2s once the factory rubber is done. The only limiting factor is their size, which in a work truck, you like more space, switchbacks will add another point to your X point turn and their length might also be fatal to the running boards/step. If I could change anything would be their approach and departure angles, without a lift and stock bumper it kinda sucks. Stacking rocks up a hill has happened and hitch receiver drag on the way down. Other than snow requiring a snowcat, never failed me. My short time in a Chevy 2500 HD was OK, street ride s nicer, softer but less sure off road and you get rocked side to side a bit more. Seemed to follow ruts more forcefully. The HD hood is a bit much too. I didn't hate it but I'd rather be in a Super Duty.

    5:40 ngl this is why I want to see what they're doing when they pull my vehicle back there. it takes me less than 30mins to do an oil change but almost a full day for them and you never know what they're putting into the vehicle. if it's the proper fluid, amount etc. I just rather have the peace of mind of knowing it was done right and do it myself. Nice upgrade! But you still need to be careful on weights. Many of the factory tires do not have the capacity you might expect (check them). Weight distribution side/side and front/rear is also important. Getting axle weights is also a good idea. Dually trucks give much more capacity but regardless it is wise to be diligent. This video just shows the SRW F250/F350 is essentially a sticker difference not physical componentry. But no matter what a vehicle needs to be driven within the limits and drive style adjusted depending on load. Have fun!

    I have 2 Lithium 100 and these batteries will run my ac for 5 hrs and when and what is really nicethe temp is out side and if is 100 out side it may only last 2 hrs. And a good thing is that 2 lithium will weight as much as one lead acid so you can use 4 lithium when you remove 2 lead acid . A DC to DC charger so they charge as you are driving. I have one solar panel that I have puts out 425 watts and that’s a lot for one panel . The dc to dc charger is the best and my5.9 diesel in my Dodge 3500 dullay will use less fuel than a lot of generators that are running wide open and my diesel would be at idle so that’s a great thing because the farther north you go the less your panels will put out .

    • @TruckCamper
      @TruckCamper Місяць тому

      It is impressive how efficient diesel motors can be at idle. Although it is difficult to get the same charging power a dedicated generator can provide. I've seen people run dual alternators but still a generator can produce much more. But we love the DC charger for "free" power while driving. And like you said it is essential in low sun times (like winter or snow conditions). Good stuff. Have fun!

      @brentmcmahon8188 Місяць тому

      And I forgot to add my 05 Dodge 5.9 has a fast idle and it’s like 1000 and with 2 alternators thoes lithium’s will suck the voltage out of everything and they say to wire the trigger wire so your dc- dc charger but I did not like that so I have a flush mount switch that turd red when on. I did this so everything would get warmed and my starting batteries woul get fully charged and then I would turn the charger on and the red light reminds me to turn charger off because if you don’t and the lithium will drain your start batteries in a half hour and haven’t had that happen yet. But I carry a big Norco jump box that has a light and Moria code and ports to charge phones and start a 8.6 diesel and mines 5.9 and will start it like nothing .

    No matter how many extra springs you put on it the GVWR is set by the factory. You can have 20,000 lbs of spring capacity and if they OEM says 8600 is it that is it. The police will ticket you for being overweight. All the springs do is make you look like you are not over your limit.

    • @TruckCamper
      @TruckCamper 2 місяці тому

      True: Springs will not change stickers. False: Police do NOT ticket overloaded vehicles unless they "appear unsafe". They do not carry scales to weigh vehicles either. • @TruckCamper
      @TruckCamper 2 місяці тому

      UV light needs to be after a high quality (low micron) filter. Essentially the light will reflect off particles or contaminants making it ineffective at killing living organisms; this is why a high quality filter needs to proceed UV. UV lights also generate heat which you want to limit heating tank water (bacteria growth). There are compact UV light solutions. Just make sure it is proceeded with a proper filter. Hope that helps!

    Hello Sir! I own the old Electrolux 3 Way model is RM4360. the fridge needs repair as i never managed to work it on Gas. 12V or 220V works ok but is 120W/h and it is a lot it also needs about 6+ hrs to get cool, so after there is no more solar light it will drain my 100AH battery overnight. So i am in the dilemma to replace it with a 220V Sharp F class (Europe) that it says 136KWH/annual, i found a nice model that will fit exact on my old dimensions. I made the formula and this would be only 15W per hour, even if it is a little bit more is safe for the battery overnight (correct me if i am wrong).But ... i am also thinking to give the 3Way a chance and repair the gas, based on the manual it would consume 0.25kg/day so it would be around 8KG per month and this is a very good option for my 10KG gas bottle. EVerything tells me to go to the 220V Sharp Compressor fridge but if i can repair the gas on the old Electrolux would be a very good idea. Another big advantage from what i understand with the compressor fridge is that i can start it in the morning (i have 3x100W panels) and will get super fast cold even in 1 hour at least to save meat for the dinner. I have so much energy wasted from the panels during the day that i do not use and it is a shame. Even if i want to save the battery on the 220V compressor fridge i can switch it off some hours overnight or even completely switch it off and fire it up next morning. What do you think?

    • @TruckCamper
      @TruckCamper 3 місяці тому

      Compressor fridge no contest. Extremely fast to cool. Most efficient to leave on (and safer for foods) - maintain temp vs full cooling. The more packed out the fridge the more efficient. Our 200ah battery drops approximately 10% overnight including running lights, h2o pump, electronics charging and just normal use. Can operate at angles (think marine environment). We only run 12v. Probably owned a dozen compressor fridges over the years. Danfoss makes the most reliable compressors. Realistically, they just work and somewhat mindless. Highly recommend.

    • @darkovsky
      @darkovsky 3 місяці тому

      @@TruckCamper Yeah this is what i think also, thank you for the fast repl!. But...! I might give a chance to fix the Gas system on the old Electrolux for this summer trip and later i will mightly go to a compressor. I understand that the best move would be a 12V compressor fridge but would be lot for my budget, i used to own many years ago one portable from Englel and i know how nice they work by consuming no more than 50W/H and getting even ice in 3-4 hrs. Thanks again for you reply, i will have to look around how much they will charge for service the old Electrolux and if it's much higher than buy a 220V compressor i will have to reconsider. BTW this is the one that i was thinking on and is exact the same dimensions like the Electrolux, what do you think about the energy ? it says 136kwh/annual and for sure we will have to add more or less 5W/H for the inverter that will always have to be on: sharphome.eu/uk-uk/sj-uf088m4s-en
