I got mine last monday in black..i love it ❤👍😎💯🇩🇰Hold the line...!
N690 is superb, but saltwater is a beast.
That knife is scratched to shit
Cold Steel is no more what we loved it for. Poor materials mostly and poor quality control.
man why not wipe that grease off before you put it in your sheath lol ..
Why doesn't it have any Cold Steel markings?
Any idea why there's jimping near the tip? Is it for looks only? I've seen it on small blades, rarely, but never on a big blade.
you actualy improved the blade, and the sax is much more useful. u gave me a great ideea with this. i will purchase one and do the same. salute u !
I also have extensive use on both of those Cold Steel knives. I think you would really enjoy the SRK in San Mai with edge retention about 60-70% of 3V and S35vn, with a toughness closer to 3V and more corrosion resistant than both...and it’s hollow ground geometry makes it a better slicer.
You should try 14c28n. Thats my favorite it's tougher then both. Ive never found corrosin to be a problem for me. Im more a fisherman and swimmer not a diver but i lived at DaytonaBeach for 6years on the water. I never had a problem with rusting other then surface on Aus8 and 8cr. My more expensive knives never had a spot. Im not one for maintenance other then wiping down. I wonder what under that rubber grip looks like? Only that brass eye holds the grip on. Just a fyi.
I've been reading up a ton on that steel, and actually have a few blades in my Amazon cart lol ❤
@@bladetherapy3797 I highly recommend trying the watchman we222 it's like $31. I love it. I can't believe it is that price. They have a few other designs in 14c28n I haven't seen anyone complain. Just a cheap example to give the steel a try.
I just gave you your 400th sub! I've enjoyed the videos I've watched of yours.
Fyi. Its only a $5 upcharge for double edged blade
Very informative. 3v is one of my personal favorite Steels. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
find a Cold Steel video, and you'll find Stiletto in the comments! 🤣 Much love my brother of the blade!
Great review, esp. the cats! 😂
Thanks for the video. I just found your channel and hit the subscribe button! Keep them coming! Greetings from the heart of Cajun country Louisiana-USA.
Awesome blade!😊
isn't 3v stainless steel? it should be good for salt water
It's classified as a carbon steel but performs really well in caustic environments
It's not a stainless steel, but it doesn't stain easily. Salt water however will stain it/rust a lot more easily.
I only have one Cobratec and it was not right so returned to Cobratec and verdict still out I thought would have back by now and I still waiting
Looking forward to seeing it cleaned. I'm thinking of getting one of those!
Don't**
Not bad for a non stainless steel, some WD-40 and extra fine sandpaper and that'll come right off
Just out of curiosity: why would you put a 3v blade in the ocean? Is it just for testing or demonstration purposes? Because I wouldn't think of 3v as a salt water steel.
It's hard to beat the CS SRK in CPM3V, great knife at a great value. I also suggest the Recon Scout in CPM3V as well, these blades are radical.
It’s pretty thick right out to the tip itself compared to many knives that size
I have that knife. Also the handles looks blocky and uncomfortable, but they actually feel really good.
Looks like that’s not been a safe queen lol
I recently bought an Eafengrow . I think that’s one heckuva value, good quality, knives, ands sheaths and great pricing.
Agreed, only thing about this one is it is WAY TOO THICK 😂
@@bladetherapy3797 yes, and mine was much heavier than I thought it would be but the machining and quality of materials is impressive
But that’s a knife that somebody like Daniel Boone would’ve loved to have had 150 years ago lol
Why would you put a perfect knife in the ocean?
Because it cleans up perfectly. No damage, only some stains. I use my knives. This knife is perfect for everything I do day in and day out. Period.
Gerber has horrible heat treatment so regardless of what gerber you get it’s junk.
Doesn’t actually show it cleaned up, you were the annoying guy on the boat weren’t you?
Next video genius.
GSM
You have to love the srk
Easy solution to the annoying belt loop-just get a nylon strap or sling, put the sheath on it and wear it across your body at the hip like a cross draw shoulder bag. That’s how I plan on wearing it. Also SK-5 steel is just a lower carbon steel than 1095, basically 1075 with maybe some small differences. SK-5 is an Asian saw steel used in Japan and Asia for saws and garden tools, etc. it’s a lot tougher than 1095 but has a bit less edge holding, which is fine for a chopper tool. These are great one tool options. I’m looking forward to buying one!
Buys a cheap knife… Receives a cheap knife… *suprised pikachu*
3v steel, cheap? I question your intelligence.
@@bladetherapy3797 bruh 😂 look at the product you got… It’s a cheap ass blade. Cheap ass heat treat. Cheap ass QC. But once cry once. Next time buy a premium brand if you want a premium knife 👍
Made in Taiwan, aka China’s cousin
mine is even. also did they remove that coating?
No, the 3v comes satin not coated
@@bladetherapy3797 ah that is at least an improvement the coatings sucks
@@KhanggiTanka agreed. Hate coatings, they scratch off
And it doesn’t matter
so you like when i spit in your meal? im healthy and its just a drop of saliva, your perfectly fine if you would eat it.
Cold steels quality control is so BAD! Did you get it from Amazon? All my Amazon cold steels had something wrong with them
Yes it came from amazon
Probably fake
Mine has the same thing. Got it off a blade hq. Good little knife if you don’t look at that part
I can DEFINITELY tell ya'll that's it's not a fake, this 3v is unmistakable.
@bladetherapy3797 if it's real 3v you wouldn't be complaining
Enjoy!
I’ve carried one of those for years.
I kinda want one now
Definitely a great purchase! I wear mine while snorkeling/free diving
The coat hanger hack is genius !!!!!!!!!
Nice, but lash out on the serrated version. That's the one to EDC !
This is so a great blade..i have putted mine through hard work and it can do it all.. I have the sabergrinded too..much stronger then the hollow grinded one.. I hear many people say this Bowie is only for fighting and that is not true. I a Survival situation this blade do good work too. Although the design is indeed in the first place with fighting in mind.. Beautyful knife!
Just bought one today, waiting for delivery now. Loved the cats
You could buy some Pull the Dot straps for your scout carry. That’s what I did for my Cold Steel Mini Tac Bowie.
VERY big hands man! You make that blade look like it's barely 5 inches long lol! I've been giving that very knife some thought. Just got the clever girl and really like it. I like kukri's too (and Undertaker Bowie's) so think I might just have to give that one a try! Thnx for the head up on that belt clip btw...
Beautiful
So how did you mount the sheath? The knife is amazing but I wish they would have given not carrying options with the sheath.
