A little challenge to make a video in a day. Then realised it's world mental health day and this fits the narrative. Hope you enjoy! ps. I don't actually walk around all day on my phone, thankfully.
Being a beginner

I am alive...but sadly no parkour yet as I am 1) Working on a longer video (might be a while) and 2) suffering from some MIND-NUMBINGLY PERSISTENT injuries Having not uploaded in so long (or use social media to post anything anymore) I feel really resistant to post videos I know aren't "proper videos". Didn't like that feeling so I'm trying to get some upload confidence back... As you can see t...
Dealing with Injuries in Parkour: From Frustration to Progression
Переглядів 3942 роки тому
The second video in a collection over the next few months. From August 2021 to May 2022 I almost completely stopped training (The longest gap I've had in over 10 years). This series is an honest reflection of my attempts to rekindle the fire, and progress beyond my level prior to several years of injury. If you enjoyed the video please like, comment and subscribe! I really appreciate any suppor...
The Recovery Project
Переглядів 2972 роки тому
It has been a while... The first of a series of videos over the next few months, documenting a return to more regular training and filming. I'm really working on improving the quality of these videos and hopefully in the next few there will be some progression! I do get conscious that these videos can be quite slow/boring for people who aren't really into talking about 'parkour stuff'. Leave me...
Parkour Narratives
Переглядів 7573 роки тому
I've been working on this in some way or another since the start of the year. I've wanted to try branch out to a more personal feel in these movement videos for a couple years, but when it comes to it I always get too scared/self conscious and just leave it as movement. Using some clips from my favourite podcasts felt like a great way to help guide my own narrative. So many of the conversations...
Overcoming Challenges in Parkour - Types of Goals
Переглядів 1683 роки тому
I'm still not that confident speaking to the camera, which is why I always sound quiet, so bare with me on that! There are so many avenues and things to talk about with this topic. I have left out a lot and probably confused things as well, but I didn't want the video being too long. Challenge is such a huge part of parkour so I might make more videos like this in future. I'd love to make thing...

Breathing Room - Thoughts on Creativity in Parkour (and life)
Переглядів 1543 роки тому
The video is very self-explanatory, but I've been struggling a lot to make these videos. Progress doesn't come through planning things, but making things. I hope this can help people and provide some value. In time I aim to improve the quality and information given, but for now I am happy to just start somewhere. How to improve your climb ups

This is more suited to people who already feel pretty confident with their climb ups and want some ideas to make them faster. These have really helped me to make mine quicker so hopefully can help other people as well. Is Parkour Sexist? - A Video Essay and Survey
Переглядів 2 тис.4 роки тому
A video I’ve been working on for over a month now, focusing on female experiences within parkour. Combining stories and experiences with my own thoughts. Hopefully through watching this video people may see issues they had not considered, and we can make the parkour scene welcoming to everyone. Thank you to all that filled in or shared the survey! it means so much and I feel proud to be involve...
Something New - An Intro
Переглядів 1354 роки тому
An intro into some slightly different videos for me. Focusing on parkour topics etc. A new style for me so bare with me as I learn how to do it properly! Struggled with injury for so many months now and I want to get better at my editing and filming. Hopefully through these I can keep myself occupied and not worry about filming parkour myself. I mentioned the next video would be filming in publ...

Clips from June/July where my ankle was good enough to train a day then rest a week each time :( maybe did too much but lockdown got to me. Was very selective with what I did as well, only real impacty bits was the shocking kong pre's and the back full, still too much apparently. Trying to rest again because I'm more injured now than in March straight after the operation :((( Working on some vi...

Chill sesh the other night. Not really done flips in months because of an injury so it was good to not totally ruin my ankle doing these. If you enjoyed the video please like, comment and subscribe! Bit of a Mix

Most of this is from summer last year but I never made anything from it. A lot of the clips are on my Instagram but I wanted something longer and it's taken me a year to get round to it oops. Didn't train as much as I'd liked last summer but had some good seshes with Joe and put his clips in too :) Some recent phone clips in at the end too If you enjoyed the video please like, comment and subsc...

How to Front Handspring in 5 minutes
You have the best flip tutorials on the internet!🎉 (and I have watched a ton of them)
Thanks so much man!
Every time i flip, one leg goes farther than the other before i jump and then I jump too low
Hey Angus I need your help with something
Very impressive ❤
i literally did all these tips wrong and know i can do a front flip how is this video not more famous
Ah that's so good! Glad it helped you out ☺
One of the best tutorials out there ! 🧠🤸♂️
Thanks so much!!
ill reply to this comment if i did land it tomorrow (landed on my back at first try today )
It can take a long long time, don't give up if you haven't got it. 💪💪🙏
😊
Awesome!
Thank you!
Love it Angus!
Thanks Simon! ❤
Am still here ❤
thanks so much man ☺
hi I just got into tricking at 46 years old and I wanna thank you for the guidance. this is probz the best tutorial in terms of the technique re. chest being straight. I will try this tomorrow with my daughter
That's awesome, thank you! Hope you both have some success with it 🙏
you’re the man
Yeah that's the problem, you never really scroll with intention, you just go there mindlessy, and that's why you keep scrolling even though you hate it. They should create a youtube shorts blocker, that'd be perfect
Completely agree, I'd love that
Really like the concept (: also chronic injuries suck, i'm also dealing with them, let's not lose hope
Sorry to hear that man 😔 and thanks for the support on the videos, we can recover
I love that I can be part of this journey Angus. And I love that you are brave enough to be vulnerable like this. Most of us are not brave enough.
Thanks so much Phil. I struggle with that a lot as well, I usually upload something then hide away and hope no one sees it 😆. But oddly it's easier in a video than in person too! Hope you and the family are all doing well ❤
Oh yes man this is sick. I've been wanting to go down the same route myself... injuries are terrifying, and i've always been like "what do i have without moving?" - creating videos has always been a huge passion of mine, and I am excited to see more of this. I really enjoyed seeing your process!
Please do Callun! I'd love to see what you come up with ☺
It’s always the best part testing out new equipment!
Very true!
You have a proper injury and you ain’t recovering ever
That's positive!
Je fait exactement les erreurs que tu a montré. Grâce à toi je sais comment faire maintenant 🤝💥
Merci!

Juro que algún día lograré perfeccionarlo😓 a pesar de tantos intentos fallidos
Gracias broder
hi bro❤ I've been trying to learn the front flip for the past 3 days. my problem is that i always land on my lower back/butt.its so frustrating 😤. i think my chest drops and blocking is not good but i can't attempt the right technique! it's too scary 😥
I totally understand man, keep at it! It just gets a little easier over time until it finally starts to click. Confidence and having some kind of mat or sand can be really useful to try remove some of the fear so you can really give it 100%
@@AngusUren yeah thank you so much man! ❤ appreciate your reply😊. i was thinking to give up today cause i was getting angry but now i saw your reply and feel confident 💕thank you!!
@@shehryar8bp I'm so glad! Trust me 3 days to learn a front flip is sooo short, it took me much much longer than that but was so worth it when it finally gets easy. Keep watching videos of yourself and find what the biggest things you can work on are. 💪💪💪
@@AngusUren Thank you so much for the motivation ❤ you know i am doing much better than people do at day 3 but still it was demotivating. gonna watch your and mine videos to get better! god bless you ❤
"in few days" and "keep coming back" are seriously gold advice and the key to progression. Thanks for sharing brother :)) stay strong 💪🏻
So glad it helps man!! And thank you for the comment 😊

Basically the last tip is open shoulders and close shoulders concept. What you need are open shoulders, open shoulders are when your arms are behind your head and close shoulders are hands in front of your head. When you swing, you want to imagine that your hand and your head are in race to reach the floor and you want your hands to win. Hence, a. Keep your chin slightly tucked. Look down slightly and focus on the floor before jumping b. Swing really fast c. Jump backwards d. When your arms reach your ears, keep your leg straight by flexing your hamstring. (keep everything tight) e. When you reach your handstand, pop with your shoulders and snap. Here you have a correct and less painful back hand spring which utilises your shoulder instead of your wrist and elbow.
❤❤❤
thank you man your video is vary useful
That's awesome man!

Ayy Angus! It’s your student here! You’re amazing!
Thank you dude!! Post more clips!
@@AngusUren you post more too!
@@AngusUren why’d you leave parkour😢
my bhs goes sideways always ... don't know how to fix it..literally take your BHS and do like 70 degrees to a side
If you want to fix your backhandspring make sure to keep praticing and keep trying because it will help you understand and recording yourself helps as well. Make sure you are not looking over your shoulder and try to keep your head straight look ahead try to spot an object ahead of you and look at it as long as you can and after your arms behind you then look back behind you. Don't twist your body to the side try to keep it straight the entire way through.
