My three are the hiring of Jesse Marsch and the Copa run, the CPL final (Cavs emotional first win, a fantastic game / spectacle to get on CBC, and speaking personally, getting to meet the Footy Prime crew), and the NSL announcement (teams, logos, players, etc). Really hoping all of these are the long term legacy of 2024 for Canadian soccer and not the drone scandal, MediaPro leaving or the Whitecaps going up for sale.

The hiring of Kevin Blue is for me the biggest story of the year. Without him, there is no Jesse Marsch. I also think that the early positive momentum he created, gave Canada Soccer plausible deniability and probably reduced the overall friction that could have happened if he wasn’t hired.

Could they ownership group sell the MLS franchise rights to a group that might want to move the club, but keep the rights to the name/logo and sell those to Vancouver FC or another Vancouver CanPL club?

I do not think the Whitecaps are going to leave Vancouver or MLS. I think there are investors willing to keep the team Vancouver team within Canada and it is early days right now.

Barca or Wolves

Rhian is such a lovely lady. We met her in Dublin airport on the flight back to Bristol. She was so willing to talk to everyone that asked and she was very photographed! She spoke to my wife about my wife playing football. So charismatic and we are proud to have her as our manager. The ' diolch' is improving too!!

However, in my mind of hope and possibility, Bayern Munich could be a "good fit." And so could AC Milan, possibly...
