Hello!
My name is Joelle, I am 22 years old, a Christian, and the second oldest in a family of twelve! Join me as I share my ever changing life! I love homemaking, vintage fashion, music & books, I love cooking and creating things with my hands! I have never been the athletic girl, I just wanted to talk incessantly (though I have learned some self control in that area and can appreciate silence now!😂), cook, and read my books! I love all the cozy things, tea, coffee, candles, homemade food, antique stores, book & thrift shops! Well those are a few random things about me! What about you?

Hello Joelle, I love hearing about your cooking journey. I had a really bad fail with coffee cake. I love sauces with pasta. I put a pot of extra vegetables in tomato sauce. I enjoy pork hocks too. 💕nonnadrace🐓
@@NonaMaryGrace1952 mm that sounds good! We sometimes make poached eggs in tomato sauce and it is so good! We serve it over pasta, rice, or toast!
Wow thanks for sharing . I cook enchiladas, homemade tortillas, I have made homemade croissants and crescent rolls and cinnamon rolls and I make a coffee cake every year for our Thanksgiving and Christmas breakfast .
@@debbiealtman5373 This was my first time making enchiladas and I made homemade tortillas too! It was fun. Mm that sounds delicious! We love making coffee cake!💞
@ awesome young lady . Way to go.❤️
@ Thank you Debbie!
@ you are welcome,
Thanks for sharing, this gave me some good ideas! I really like the idea of making a sweet and savory pie at the same time. My husband really enjoys Asian food and I wonder if he would like that ramen bowl. 😊 I was just thinking thr other day that I would like to make the kids some pop tarts. The éclairs look sooo yummy! It all looks so good! ❤️
@@WifetoJohn good! I was hoping it wouldn’t be too boring!😅Making pie crust takes long enough that I don’t like to just make enough for what I am making. I try to make at least one extra pie crust to put in a freezer or I like to make double the amount for a pie or something. It feels like such a treat but really isn’t much extra work! We love eating ramen! We have made our own noodles but typically we just use rice noodles. We also can Pho style broth so it’s basically as fast as any packaged ramen but much more filling and healthier! We make peanut butter ramen or just basic ramen with many toppings for everyone to build their own bowl. Pop tarts are so fun to make and the kids get so excited about them!
Beautiful❤️

How sweet! I just love that! You do a beautiful job on everything you put your hand too. I also love the sweater you have on! Love the pattern and color, and it looks so good on you. I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful Christmas!
@@1CathyHendrix Thank you Cathy! You are so kind!💕 i hope that you have a wonderful end of the year with family!🤗
You're right, I couldn't tell that you were wearing green pants. The shirt under your sweater looked tan and I thought you like natural colours. The sweater is beautiful and looks very nice on you. Did you knit that and do you knit and sell the products that you've made? I don't knit myself and avoid sewing, lol.
@@AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu 😂 The lighting was terrible! I tried two different places but it as just too dark I guess.. I did knit it! I knit it last year.🌲I have knit things to sell off and on again over the years, mostly just for family though. I actually just bought a bunch of yarn however to make some baby outfits like the one I showed that I plan to sell! I hope it works well. I haven’t really seriously tried it before, I just used scrap yarn in the past and priced them really low so they’d sell.. I had a hard time learning to knit and it took a lot of try’s but I love it now! I like sewing but I dont really enjoy getting everything out and cutting out all the fabric.. so I don’t do it very often!😂
@@JoelleGrace It's a beautiful sweater that you made. My favorite colour is also green 😁The baby outfit that you are making is really well done, at least from my vantage point. The weave if that is what it's called looks tight and the baby should be very cozy and comfortable in the outfit.
@ Thank you! This is my fourth baby suit I have made of this pattern, the pattern has several points that give a very professional finish. It’s fun to knit! And wool is so nice in the winter! Do you prefer dark or light shades of green? It’s such a lovely color!
@@JoelleGrace I like all shades of green 😁

I'm working on making some toast with jam as I'm watching 🙂
@@AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu mmm yum! What kind of jam? Our neighbor recently brought us Tuna Jam from cactus fruit and it was delicious!
@@JoelleGrace It is a mixed berry jam from Costco, which is actually very delicious. This is the 1st time I've tried it. I hope to preserve my own jam next year. I've never heard of Tuna Jam but have heard Cactus fruit before. Funny that it would be called Tuna, lol, but I'm happy it was delicious.
@ yum! I love making jam! A few years ago I made so much that i had to stop for a few years!😂 isn’t that a funny name! My siblings love to ask people if they want some tuna jam without giving them any context, and the expressions on their face are hilarious!

I'm going to be starting patchwork quilt block type pot holders. I have some my great aunt and grandma made and they are starting to fall apart. I dabbled in learning to sew in jr/sr high and made a few dresses and small beginner things but have never really kept going with the skill. But I'm excited to try and expand my ability.
@@jkreinert2822 oh how pretty! I would like to make some potholders for our house & for my hope chest. I made some woven ones from factory scrap sock loops. Which are nice and thick but a little small. I haven’t sewn much in the past few years. But I’d like to sew myself some dresses with some yarn I have had for that purpose for years, I was just too scared of messing it up!😂 They are both thrifted fabrics with a distinct pattern on the edge, so I can’t replace it and the pattern once cut I cant go back..I need to just do it though..
It's such an adorable baby suit you knitted! I would love to know where to find the pattern if you're able to share where I might find it. ❤️
@@Bekilouthreads Thank you! It is the Monday suit by Petite knit, I bought it from Ravelry but you can also buy it on her website. I have also knit her other patterns and they are great! I plan to knit her Sunday suit & Anchor suit soon.🥰
Nice❤👍🏻🌹💐
Great job. Have every sibling help do something. If your creative make a game out of cleaning . Make it fun, I like cleaning so that’s not a chore for me but for some people it is. Have a fun day each week for winner of fun cleaning day. ( day) just an idea. Run a cycle with out clothes with washer cleaning soap,. I do that. You can get washing machine cleaner in laundry isle at Walmart and I usually do once a month or as needed. Joell you do great work knitting and sewing . You are so talented a so sweet to your brothers and sisters. You’ll make a wonderful mom someday.❤
Thank you Debbie! Those are all great ideas! I do have the little children help (like today Mark-Simeon helped me wipe down all the appliances and organize the pantry!), but I also do little bursts like this on my own. Things (like the knitting or video editing) that I need or want to do myself. Where I can I definitely do try and include them, those skills are very valuable and it is necessary to divide the work load. I didn’t used to like all cleaning or certain chores, but now I don’t really mind them. I think doing them often enough really helps. You learn how you like to go about things and find pleasure in accomplishing each task. 🥰 I will definitely look into the washer machine cleaner! For the top and lid I like to get a scrub brush and a bowl of hot soapy water and that helps a lot! But I will admit I dont often wash the actual machine inside and it probably really needs it!😅 Thank you so much Debbie!🥹 I am excited for that day in the future!💞
@ I have to scrub the out side of washer and lid because we have the HE washer and the window gets dirty and the inside drum gets dirty. I love organizing stuff in containers and such. I just love keeping house clean. Satisfaction having a clean home.
@ It is so satisfying to organize and then to use! Definitely my favorite “chore”! Homemaking is just a wonderful “Job”!😍
@ there is a lady who used to post videos home organizing as she’s a professional and organizes homes . She’s in another country but, her home is beautiful. Ravenna at home. Like I said she has a beautiful home and here place is highly organized and I love getting ideas from her,
@ Oh I will definitely look up her channel! Thank you for the recommendation Debbie! I love channels like that!
I love your style. 👍🥰

Hello you actually have more ambition than me. I need some one to clean first then I mabe could keep up with doing the fly lady method. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
@@NonaMaryGrace1952 😂 We’d make a good team! I actually get tired of dealing with all the little things at the end (unless it involves organizing, which I love!) so I often prefer the initial phase. The fly lady method is helpful because it keeps me in one place every week for 15 minutes or so, with very focused cleaning. Which means I can actually see the improvement because it is so focused. I definitely don’t do her entire schedule, that is just too much for me and too structured! I mainly use her zones and the 15-30 minute cleaning timers, which really help! Thank you Nonna Grace!🤗
You sure did get a lot accomplished for someone that was tired 🙂 When that happens to me I sometimes push past that feeling but most of the time, I just listen to my body and take a break.
@@AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu Thank you Krista!💕 Yeah, I often just let it be a slow day but I felt like it was just the very overcast weather the past week that was making me drowsy and I had a lot to get done, so after letting myself just knit most of the day, I decided to get something done! I do this with chickpea flour. It has a scramble egg consistency, and it's really good. They're called Farinata
I never thought of chickpea flour! What do you like to top it with?
@JoelleGrace I don't top it with anything really, it's more of a Savory flavor. I have a little bit of fruit on the side. Yogurt might be good with it. It's also called besan
@ I wondered if it would be more savory! I wonder if it would be good with mideastern flavors. Falafel style or something.. yum!!
@JoelleGrace it's just been a good substitute for our family instead of eggs. We all have a ton of food allergies in our family. I had to go through elimination diet one year, was pure torture. so we eat it like scrambled eggs. My son puts ketchup on it, but I think that's gross. We once got a bottle of old fashioned mushroom catsup at an Amish restaurant in Hutch Ks, and that was really yummy with it!
@ Agh that’s hard! We have had several food sensitivities over the years but currently the only things we have to avoid is beef and tomato for some members of the family. My brother Malachi as a toddler would make himself a scrambled egg in a custard bowl and than would fill the bowl completely with ketchup!😂 He loved it! But I agree ketchup on eggs isn’t very good! Are you from Kansas? Both of my parents grew up there and I was born in Wichita, KS!

I tried to think of a third tip because “two tips to transform your knitting” just doesn’t flow as well ya know.. and I honestly think these tips are all you need for beautiful i-cord, correct me if I’m wrong.. leave your favorite knitting hacks in the comments, I’d love to hear them!! Love, Jo❤
