Glassline become dry in their botte !
Over time you may find the bottle clogs up or the glassline is too thick. Firstly try standing the bottle in warm water for a few minutes then shake. But if that still doesn't work just add a few drops of water into the bottle, give the Glassline a very good shake and it will revitalise the product without fading the black after kilning
I will make it myself this week I think. Just got instructions from WoodPrix and I'm ready for do it :D
It's good to see the WoodPrix has new instructions to save my money and energy to make it.
Is the fish fused glass also? Do you have a video on that? Love your advice and your work.
Yes it is fused glass with enamel painting. No we’ve not done a video on it. We have done other videos showing the same techniques.
fantastic what glue do you use please?
We use Glastac Gel www.warm-glass.co.uk/products/bullseye-glastac-fusing-gel?_pos=2&_sid=577722902&_ss=r
i am a begginer i only have a micorwave kiln can i use this if i make them smaller?
Sure, but don’t make them too thick either.
Love these little guys! Do you have a pattern that you can make available?
They are cute. It’s a straightforward pattern with simple curves, a freehand cut is all that’s really needed.
Great video. Which would you recommend for. Paint pour.
Dove or UCG (Unique Glass Colours). UCG do a kit for glass pour available at The Creative Glass Guild, UK based.
Stunning !......
Many thanks!
Perfect video. To the point and not crazy like some ladies lol. Love your style!
Glad to hear it was helpful and concise.
Where did you order the whole kit from?
The torch, oxycon and storage boxes were ordered from Tuffnell Glass www.tuffnellglass.com
Do 😊you have a pattern for the birdies please
No we don't I'm sorry to say.
Website address please
our web address is on our UA-cam homepage its www.firedglass.biz we supply UK only BTW
How large of molds can this technique be used on?
What size did you have in mind?
You will find the larger the mould the more difficult it will be to extract the piece without it breaking. There's also the risk of it cracking during firing.
Please show us how to make this!
We have done an under the sea lantern ua-cam.com/video/lJwBQS-E2BQ/v-deo.htmlsi=K6b9GqrHcWRNmUME which follows the same sort of approach.
This is genius.
Glad you liked it.
Can you use ceramic molds in a microwave kiln?
Yes, so long as they are made for glass fusing.
@ thank you.
Bonjour, cette réalisation est magnifique. Bravo
Thank you
Love the layering mix! I use lm :powdered frit 1:1 and let it dry 24h. Then paint on this with CFE color concentrates suspended in h20. I make Christmas ornaments. Technique is from Mark Hufford- he has several video tutorials and is a fabulous teacher.
Sounds great!
They look particularly good in the sunlight - makes the glass really sing. Beautiful project! 💙
Thank you! 😊
What a stunning result. Thank you so much for taking us through the whole process start to mounting ❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
credit should go to Look Ma No Stand for developing those slumpers.
We've not heard about that before, do tell us more. Like many things there's always claims about who invented it first. Interested to hear.
Well I did get this awesome tool , cutting circles is such a joy! Can cut the all day long! Do you fuse 2 circles to make your little ornaments, what is your target temp? Was worried if I only used one, circle would distort in the firing......thank you for your guidance!
Great to hear you love the tool. We use a tack fuse which is 760ºC in our kilns, it may be different in yours. A full fuse or a tack fuse will work just as well. We only use 1 layer of glass for those ornaments. Firing a single layer will not distort, it will round off, but that's about it. Obviously this will be more pronounced on a full fuse over a tack fuse.
@@FiredGlass Thank you again for your feedback, I have been using my cutter, a perfect tool for making these circles very quickly, could do this all day! (in fact I have...) thanks!
Thank you, great video. Some mackerels seam to be curved, do you use a mold ? what kind ? Many thanks to you.Hello from France !
No mould used, handcut flat glass. See parts 1 & 2 of this series which covers this from the beginning. This is part 3.
thank u
ive never seen brushes that big. My grinder is slanted, and now has clips on the sides to slide something into it, something more narrow. BTW i love your fish do u do a class on that too. and how do u have it all together?
The Brown trout was a piece for the Southern Nature Art exhibition. It took ages. We’ve done long unedited step by step video on a fox project which was painted in enamels. Same process, although a different subject.
i have a question for u about what kind of brush u are using around your lap grinder. when did u buy Please?
It's just an old paintbrush, nothing special.
@@FiredGlass Jill, Good Morning. so i made river rock with the sludge from my table saw. The slurry/sludge is more course and after firing grainy, not shinny. I made them before but added color, so when making mine i did put a little color on them before firing. I do have a question, do u let them dry out before putting them in to be fired? I cant remember if i did before when i made with color..didnt make notes. Elaine
@@elainefuehrer5739 no we don't let them dry out. Once they are on the bisque tile they go in the kiln and fired as and when it's full. That can be immediately or later that day.
@@FiredGlass Thank u Jill, Ill give that a try
As usual, your generosity in sharing your skills and knowledge is much appreciated. 😊
My pleasure!
Thanks!
Bless you thank you Robert - that's very kind of you.
Hi Jill thank you for the video. Can I suggest dampening the grinder dust when cleaning it out of the machine. Way safer than all that dry dusty powder. Grinder paste is also good for grinding off hard edges or bits of stuck kiln wash. instead of using grit
Good tips - thank you.
Remarkable! I'll make some for myself, as soon as I've collected enough powder.
Have fun, being free it makes it more enjoyable we find!
looks like i saw this 2 yrs ago, wanting to know if that medium can go with any enamel
It should be okay with most brands.
Grinder sludge is great for testing freeze n fuse molds too!
Great tip!
Thank u!! i have the bullseye ceramic wave slumper. would like to have these types mainly for being able to store them.. but im wondering if i can do that idea with the ceramic mold.
No reason why not. So long as it’s stable.
how big is your shop? is that the one u film your creative videos from? I do love how the tables fold down from the wall.
Studio is 5m x 3m. Yes it’s where we film our videos. The storage units are really useful, expensive but worth it.
i have buckets of it and i have fired a few, i also added a few drops of enamel to them, but i do think the grey rocks look better
Good idea on adding enamel
@@FiredGlass Jill when im watching u, I make NOTES.
Jill, Jill, Jill, you are so clever! I never would have thought of that! I always clean my equipment and toss that into a bucket and then into a bin! Simply brilliant! Thank you for sharing! ❣
LOL as they say, you learn something every day!
Love making these, but I hate mixing up the sludge so this is what I do. I keep my powder in a small jar that fits into my rock tumbler container. It doesn't fit perfectly, so I put some paper between my jar and the tumbler container for it to hold in place. I then have a small rock that I put in there that helps to move stuff around as it tumbles. I let it tumble for a half hour, then check on it. If it is mixed well it is done. Stir in more water if needed.
Good use for you rock tumbler to avoid mixing! Thanks for sharing.
0:18 Elderly American coal miners called the condition "rocks in the box" 😆😆 silicosis in modern parlance if I am correct. Not a pleasant debilitation. 1:28 I would be thinking vacuum cleaner, but perhaps it is so finely powdered that it would go through a filter? But then if you want o reclaim it for use, a wet/dry vaccum would loose your material? They look like they could be drilled to make buttons for garments if size could be managed. Thank you for the lesson!
There's no easy way to collect it, the traditional scrape and scoop is effective and works. Buttons would certainly work, good idea!
As other folks have said, I too always throw away my grinding powder. Now I have a great use for it. Thank you!! I believe this may be the first time this subject has been addressed.
Have fun with your first batch! It will change how you look at 'waste' in your studio.
That’s a great idea!!
Glad you think so!
The not so glamourous side! But, from that, nothing is wasted.
Like looking behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz! As you say, nothin is wasted with glass, it can all be re-used.
WOW I ALWAYS THROW MINE AWAY. I WON'T NOW. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
River rocks for the win! You have fun now.
Genius! I would never have thought of doing that. Thank you! I looked at your website--Your work is really beautiful.
Thank you on both counts!
very informative, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
0:44 Wow! Nice display, great lighting and you have been very busy I can see, thank you for the show and tell. It's encouraging, uplifting, inspiring to get out and about among appreciative viewer. Good to know that you are well and inspired. Not hearing from you so long I hoped that no setbacks occured. Emojis not working, starnge.
9 people round on day 1, which is a good start. Sales too!
@@FiredGlass So encouraging to have customer support and appreciation. Good to know that you are well! 🍸🍸
You could make a small scoop by taking a disk grinder to a cheap spoon. Then bend up the sides like your husband did on the larger ones.
Good idea!
Jill, everything looks simply amazing! Well put together. Oh how I wish I was in the U.K.! Best of luck, I know you will do well!
Thank you so much! 😊
Great display of your excellent work.
Thank you Barry.
