Tusen takk, jeg er glad videoene er nyttige for deg. Det blir nok dessverre begrenset med innhold fra Norge, jeg bor jo tross alt i Sveits. Men jeg forsøker å gripe muligheten når jeg er på besøk, så det kommer nok litt Norge innhold av og til :)

I also found it much easier than expected. Of course when I picked up the french for beginners for the first time I understood absolutely nothing. But it was fascinating how the vocabulary was slowly aquired when I stuck to the reading method described in the first pages. I agree, much more fun compared to flash cards or other beginner methods.

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm happy that my videos are useful to you. As for the subtitles, yes it is something I'm considering. I have been getting some requests for it. The plan is to make a video with subtitles as you describe and cast a vote as to what prople prefer moving forward. My two next videos will be like this, they are done and edited already. But after that I will make one video with subtitles on top of each other to see if that is something the viewers would prefer. I'm glad you liked the video :) The full wordplay is "ha det på badet din gamle sjokolade". It translates to good bye on the bathroom you old chocolate. I have no idea where it comes from. I'm pretty sure it's something Norwegians have been saying since forever but it must originate from somewhere. No idea where but your question made me start to think.

C’est cool que tu l’aies remarqué, tu es très observateur. C’est en partie vrai, tu as presque raison. Je n’essaie pas forcément d’introduire de nouveaux mots, mais plutôt de nouveaux sujets qui, eux, apportent aussi de nouveaux mots. J’essaie d’éviter de refaire toujours la même chose, ce qui finirait par me faire parler des mêmes sujets tout le temps. J’adorerais juste aller dans des boulangeries à Genève, manger des pâtisseries et en parler dans chaque vidéo. Mais ce ne serait pas très éducatif, sauf si tu veux apprendre à parler des pâtisseries haha. Donc, j’essaie d’intégrer de nouveaux éléments de temps en temps, ce qui me fait aussi utiliser des mots différents. C’est impressionnant que tu l’aies remarqué, car j’ai l’impression d’avoir été très subtil à ce sujet. Tu progresses clairement très vite en norvégien

@Simplynorsk Superbe! Il est vrai que tu le fais d'une manière plutôt discrète, mais je te regarde avant tout pour apprendre, donc j'y mets beaucoup d'attention à ce que tu dis. Great observation! And it's completely true. In Norway we speak whatever dialect we have acquired, in my case a vestland dialect. We write in bokmål or nynorsk, we dont actually speak it.

@Simplynorsk On labour day, May 1st, especially in the 1970s, a common parole were "Speak dialect! Write nynorsk!" True and simple

Also, if you don't mind, I'd like to ask a question. I'm visiting next year, but it's on a cruise ship. I've heard that some Norwegians really don't like the cruises to the fjords. Can I ask what your view is?

@@wizardaka Thank you, I'm glad you like my videos. That makes me very happy to hear. It's correct as you say, some Norwegians dont like cruise ships or cruise tourists. Me personally, I dont have an opinion on the subject. I think you should look forward to your cruise and dont bother much about what some people might think of it. From what I understand about the topic, the problem some places are with the infrastructure. Some cruise ships are massive with thousands of tourists, and they often visit villages where there are only 100-200 people living (such as Flåm and Geiranger). So the villages are not really dimensioned to greet that many people at once. It can cause long lines, lot's of traffic etc etc. So I dont think people are annoyed at cruise tourists as a group, but more the fact that suddenly there is a lot of people around. I think you will have a great vacation. You will see a lot of the fjord landscape on a cruise ship, so you have a lot to look forward to. I wish you a great weekend, and I hope that you will find my coming videos useful for learning some more Norwegian for your upcoming holiday.

Hello. I am planning to release a video with the subtitles as you describe, in order to then do a vote on what people prefer. Once I have the time I will check out different formats for these type of subtitles to see what works. My next three videos will be in the top/bottom format, they are already made and edited, so they will not be changed. But after that I might try one video with subtitles right on top of each other. I personally prefer subtitles top and bottom, which is why I do it like this. But people are different. Not sure when I can release a video with right on top subtitles, my schedule is quite busy the next month. But it's on my mind and it's something I'm planning to do. Other subscribers have asked for the same thing.

@Simplynorsk Hvis du setter de engelske undertekstene rett over de norske, kan vi ikke unngå å se dem, uansett hvor mye vi ønsker det. Men legger du dem under de norske, kan vi flytte videorammen ned til de forsvinner. Det burde gjøre alle glade! 🙃
