Nice job on that encoder fault .Changing the capacitors is definitely recommended. You get a lot of noise generated within that PLL board which affects the receiver. It's just a pain to do as for some strange reason UNIDEN didn't print the capacitor locations on the PCB. But it's well worth doing.

Where did you purchase the green cap for the incandescent bulb, not a fan of the orange display. The ones i've found state they're for LED bulbs, not incandescent.

Absolutely brilliant work on the Lincoln I have a hygain 5 8795 model would love to get that serviced and maybe some up grades to bring her in to the modern world

I love the Lincoln radio's. I am on my third one!!. Another problem i found with the rotary channel change is that there are 2 low value electrolytic capacitors on the up/down voltage lines going from the channel switch to the cpu. They are either side of the channel change socket on the cpu board, i have found they can go leaky and cause the "skippy" channel change. Hope this information is useful.

Tried my best following this guide and few others only to end up with an even worse left click. I wonder where I went wrong, I got omron switches and now instead of a double click, it doesn't work at all on input and from time to time holds down left click from just touching the microswitch until I manage to wiggle it back to not working anymore.

Had 11m etc put on mine and fitted 2 fans, a lit of kit to take in just wish I can find the chart would help no end I'm new to the ssb etc I'm an old AM FM 80's CB'er Great rig such a different world to my harrier cbx with extra block on it a bit of vintage but this president 👏 I'm smiling. I have same antenna but is red one on magmount. You run a boot too or straight 80watt out the back to get Brazil. If no boot wow you done well. I'm going up a hill to DX lol. Hi Graham the person did not set the n code for ch1 correctly in the setup menu for the digimax for the mc145106 , nothing to do with the install as such .. lol,ed hard when i saw the cobraworkshops crap beep the pic chip having it number scratched off is a joke its not hard to reverse engineer the pic code tbh . Any good engineer can write code that does the same

That channel display is excellent! How much is a supply and fit?

The channels work by adding the 3 + 7 to give you 10, then 1 + 0 = 1, which gives you channel 1 high band.

i so love to see china crap in a quality uniden, but wheres the argb lighting! half arsed ! silicon is highly corrosive (acidic) + conductive but then so was that brown rubbery glue (just like evostick) uniden used on these

Thats what cb radios do on the rx rf input a pair of back to back diodes ,for this case it depends on the gens max ouput level so maybe zenners instead its just the extra capacitance that might be a issue but at 50ohm dont think it would be

Some back to back diodes or zenners would be a good idea across the chip output just before the coupling cap, just got a hp8657a and paranoid of breaking it so any comments on output protection very welcome, any probs with the diode or zenner idea? The diode capacitance shouldn't be a problem at 50 ohm, same as long coax iam thinking?

The 1k resistor and diode on the bleep board was probably a power feed for a K40 microphone.
