I inherited a bag like this some 60 years ago from my great aunt. She was born in 1900 and was an early Sierra Club member. She used bivy bag with a snap in goose down sleeping bag and an integrated overhead awning that became the weatherproof cover when it was all rolled up. There was also a wide, thick piece of canvas that was sewn into one end of the roll and snapped to the other end so you could carry the roll over the shoulder or crossbody and add a pan, cup, and a few other camping items to the roll. Great piece of kit that disappeared from the house in a cleaning flurry while I was away at college (along with many other items).

i live in florida and the islands of the antilles back and forwarth. our rain here is daily in the jungles and man it gets tiring haha. i'm going to purchase one of these. was even thinking of doing a small video on it and seeing if it can truly hold up. wish me luck!

I'm gonna do a follow up cause my order just got here and I have alot to say. There's alot of comments saying why buy this "expensive" item when normal ponchos exist. So here's real reasons from a Florida man who loves outdoors. 1.) this is actually the cheapest oilskin poncho I've found available on the us market by about 20-30 bucks. 2.) plastic ponchos use dwr spray, so if your looking for a bushcraft or bombproof option your kidding yourself with a modern poncho relying on chemical application 3.) I gave myself an unlimited budget on rain gear. I live in the tropics. Rains my life. I've tried every single rain item possible with all the money I could dump. They still rip to nothing most of the time in these forest haha. For 150 nothin will keep you safer while being dry. Try starting at 300 for serious rip stop goretex tech. 4.) this things made the right way. I just got through hurricane Debby. I help alot when the trees fall and need something to keep the wind and rain off my back. This 4 pound rain stopping monster of a poncho kept me doing my work without a second though. Don't sleep on a good poncho. In my environment this poncho is indispensable. Thanks for the good gear coal cracker !

That’s it!!! WTF man that’s something we all know can be done with string. Takes up less space and doesn’t sound like a potato chip bag. Your Bandana will do the other stuff. Even signal. If everyone bought everything all these gurus are making to sell, they would need a dump truck to go camping. Up until I saw this, I didn’t think of Coal cracker like that. Please do not continue down the path of making fake problems In Order to sell useless garbage to people that don’t know any better. You’re better than this. Do better! If you can’t easily hike through the mountains with your normal gear for at least ten miles, then learn more, so you can take less. I do not mean destroy the forest to get what you think you need. Simply learn how to do more with less, and I can guarantee you a better experience. Saves you money also, making it possible to go more often.

I have some suggestions: Reinforced eyelets in the corners, and the orange one should be orange on one side, and pink on the other, also perhaps some handles. Lastly, it reminds me of a litter, so make a bigger version?

Hi Dan; I have been a follower of the channel for a long time and this time I watched this product presentation with interest. I don't dispute the advantage of the device, that it can keep things dry, and you can pack things in it, although the devices you mentioned as an example are anyway stored in a dry, protected place. The important function of the device, that if you insert two stakes into its ears, and how good it is that you can transport half of it, can actually be done with a piece of rope. If I remember correctly, you even made a video about this. In the past, you gave much more useful knowledge, for example, how to make a bed out of tall dry grass. Lately, I feel like the channel has moved in the direction of firestarting, and product presentations, which I understand, because people live on money. One suggestion at the end: you could print at least one logo (a big one) on it, even with reflective paint. So that whoever sees it asks "Where did you get it?". I remain your sincere follower, from Hungary.
