Ive bought 2 so far. Awesome blanket. my go to blanket at night when sleeping or anytime i take a nap. perfect size and warmth. not bulky or heavy. will be buying more in the future.
A few years ago I bought the cheap $25 blankets via Amazon for emergency car use. I think they were made in India. I used them at both the basic and advanced bushcraft classes. They were ok but I wasn’t all that warm even with 2 of them. For Christmas I got a CC wool blanket for $75. At first blush totally worth the cost. I can hold the India blanket up and see through it in spots - the weave is inconsistent across the fabric. Not so with the CC blanket. It’s very well made. Again totally worth the price so if you’re interested then go CC.
This is actually a pretty good price for the size and wool content. They really don't get much cheaper than this. Kudos to you guys for not eye gouging. They look great!
I just ordered one of your blankets. I am glad I saw your video. I always kept my wool blanket with me in the military, which I still have. They sure don't make them like the old days. I am looking forward to getting one of your blankets for my pack. Keep up with the great videos. Live life!!
Love these blankets. Dan, I bought one of each in November '22 and, while I have not "camped" outdoors with them (yet) I have used them indoors. They are NOT scratchy (itchy), they are quite soft, and they are very pleasing to the eye - especially the mostly brown one. Thank you for your products, but mostly for your tips and lessons!
Bought one a year ago. I love it. It's the only blanket I keep in my semi truck and I'll be using it tomorrow inside of my snug pack elite 1 camping in the snow. Awesome blanket for the price
In low nighttime temps 45F and higher (my personal threshold), I use a wool blanket over a sleeping bag. You can wash the, in the washer (no agitator, gentle/hand wash/wool cycle) and hang dry.
I have both of these. I bought the tan one last year and loved it so much I got the brown one a few months later. Always comfortable. Use one on my bed daily. It also really kept me warm camping this December.
I've got the OG Coalcracker wool blanket and it's fantastic. In fact, it's sitting on top of my rucksack by the door for a weekend, car camping trip I'm taking after work tomorrow.
I wash mine in the washer on delicate, with woolite. Then hang them outside to dry and stretch. The washer tends to tighten the weave on mine. I dont feel comfortable putting them in a tumble dryer, so I hang them to dry. Just my 2 cents.
Get a haircut hippie 😆 you got that Doc Brown hair coming out the back of your hat. Kidding aside huge fan of your other channel just Started following this one. Thanks for all the work you put into your videos!
I gave myself one of the brown ones for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I haven’t used it outside yet but once the weather breaks I surely will. Thanks Dan.
I own both, extremely comfortable, warm, and they look great! I am 6’2” and most blankets and woobies seem to be just too short or not wide enough but I’m able to fully wrap up in these. Extremely versatile too as I use them outside in in my home.
I always brought a wool blanket camping. They are a must have and never let you down. Wool blankets and clothes work great, better in my opinion than some of the expensive spaceage stuff you can buy.
I have one of the earlier ones with the square label. I have washed it a couple times in the washing machine on cold and gentle wash then air dry it and it seems as good as new.
Hello coolcracker, I would like to buy such a blanket from you, but since I pay import tax on goods and shipping, my question: do you have the possibility of cost-optimised shipping to Germany?
Love these blankets and your gear! But...don't ever use a dryer sheet with wool products. Wool has hollow fibers, that's why it can insulate when wet and why it dries fast. Dryer sheets close these pores, and make these benefits of wool useless. Dryer sheets are also full of harmful chemicals that end up on your skin. There is no good reason to use a dryer sheet anytime.
@@evanf1443 well I'm a purist, I prefet 100% wool, it's the best but since we have tecnology today to help entertain and care better for the wool product we use, wear and wash, why not give it a try. 10% in really minimal. To answer you honestly, if ir redices its minimal. To go back to my rambling, in the past wool was different in the sense that the pre industrial and just at the beginning of it, didn't scrub all the protective surface that made it water repellant, and then the washing was different and then I immagine they had ways to keep the longevity of the wool product that I ignore, too. So I think that our ancestors would have gladly welcomed a fiber in the mix to help with it. What could they have used, a mélange of hemp, row silk, nettle? To conclude, for garment is ok to have some % of syntetic in the mix, to survive the washing machine use and abuse and keep the shape, for blankets 100% wool, or for the sake of longevity 90/10 . Its a good ratio, well try it since is a good price and you can make up your mind. Cheers.

Hi Dan- I love your wool blankets, I have the brown plaid one. Please consider making a queen or queen +. Thanks.
Queen or queen ???
@@stevencunningham4680 "queen +" as in queen plus.
I have a coalcracker tarp, quilt and the wool blanket. Use them and love them.
The question isn't "why a wool blanket?" Rather, "why can't you make them more thick?"

Good morning from Syracuse NY USA brother and everyone else

Wash in Cold water Delicate Cycle/1/4 cup of grated Ivory soap. Thats what the lady who weaved mine said.
Yeah I washed and dried my Hudson Bay Wool Blanket it’s now a wool shooting mat lol

I bought one from the park store end of summer. Great blanket. Keep warm everyone 😆
He always highlight great stuff Dan, and not a bad price on that wool blanket either. Stay vigilant!
I have both of these. I bought the tan one last year and loved it so much I got the brown one a few months later. Always comfortable. Use one on my bed daily. It also really kept me warm camping this December.
Absolutely love mine! Need to get another one,you can never have enough wool blankets. Another awesome video as always brother 👍 💪
I hang my blanket outside on nice (non pollen) days for a refresh. It works great.
I've got the OG Coalcracker wool blanket and it's fantastic. In fact, it's sitting on top of my rucksack by the door for a weekend, car camping trip I'm taking after work tomorrow.
Got the brown ones, love this thing.
It’s my hammock liner
So far I’ve bought 7 and I don’t think I’m done yet. Family loves em and I use them every day.

*"Great Scott!"*
Nice, it’s hard to find a good wool blanket thank you!
Wool even wet still warm !
I love your shows thank you very much

Especially socks. I used to wear only cotton socks, but switched to wool. Realized that I wasn't prone to blisters, I just needed to wear wool.
Hey Dan that's pretty rad man. What's with the hair , is the Mullet coming back ? LOL 😆.
I have one of the earlier ones with the square label. I have washed it a couple times in the washing machine on cold and gentle wash then air dry it and it seems as good as new.
Dang they look great. I just bought a wooley Mammoth and love a wool blanket
Waiting on them to get back in stock. Well? 😁
Yea, me too. Don't wait till summer arrives. lol
To anti bacterial them, just place in the sun.
I always carry one.
I just got the notification for this video. 5 days late…,
When will the Gold/Plaid be back in stock?
You have to clean them? Dirt adds character.
It ads flies too but it will make people in shopping queues get away from you.

Sweet
I want!
Don't call them "wool blanket" if they are wool and polyester.
Is it a bad idea to put permethrin on a wool blanket?

Rocking the winter mullet?
Did Einstein use a wool blanket? Hahahhaha
Just teasing
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
do u ship worldwide?
Can you use fabric refresher on them?
👍
Dan, I've got a survival gear item idea that I'd like to run pass you...need an email address to do so.
🔥🔥
Where are they made?
Same question!
I just ordered one, but I trust you as china is not your thing.
Would the lower wool percentage compromise the insulative capability?
no its only for durability.
@@antidoteify so the inclusion of other fibers into the mix does nothing to reduce its ability to keep you warm?
