“Looking like a wild wizard” Hahaha! Dan, thanks for making your poncho’s hood a proper fit. And thanks for creating this item and making it available for us. Much appreciated!
Just got mine today 9-9-23 top quality gear worth every penny, im 5'10 250 plusish lol plenty big enough if i had to i could just hunker down in it through a rain and stay dry. Great made product Dan, thanks.
That's wierd. I just packed my oiled nylon army poncho for my trip to Greece. It does rain hard there. The best thing is that I just put it over the rucksack and my head and I'm good to walk
Hey Dan.... I know you like challenges. So, here's one for you. You've done a lot of videos with hunter/trapper etc... blah blah blah.. How about one with the persona of a civil war soldier toward the end? You got a horse, tack and a gum blanket/poncho, you choose, flour ration, a daily ration, and just go for it. How would you fare? Quite interesting in concept. Now those guys were survivalists. Every thought of challenging yourself on this level? Might want to pack a squirrel rifle. Would be an interesting episode to explore.
I wish I lived where this was feasible, but in SE Texas it would only be good about teo weeks out of the year. Don’t get me wrong, I love oilcloth, just not to wear in my climate.
Excellent presentation & excellent product, Dan! Several years ago my wife & I got open-front oilskin parkas for our 18th century re-enacting; but the garments do not have hoods & no means of fastening them together. We purchased ours through Tentsmiths; are they making yours for you? For practical purposes, your poncho would work better. Thanks for all your no-nonsense presentations. Although we are retired & on a fixed income, our oilskin parkas should last the rest of our lives. Our ages are 82 & 78. 'Blessings on you & yours.
That's an awesome poncho. I sure could have used that this week while camping in the rain. Is there any chance you'll be making it in green like the oilcloth tarps you sell?
A Tie Loop would have been great on the top rear of the Hood to hold it up if you needed to use the Poncho as a Shelter,... That would keep the Hood up & open for ventilation.
150$ is a little much tbh . Probably not for everyone but it's a lot to me . Still think this is a fantastic channel with great information. Maybe one day I will be able to buy and support your channel.
Question...is it plastic or actual cloth? What type of cloth? I had ordered me a oil cloth hood via tent Smith, and the hood was made of plastic materials verses the small sample sheet they added (for future repairs?). That little sample felt like cloth compared with the Hood it felt different...like plastic.
I just now went to your website, shelters, there is nothing about this poncho? I need to know price & specs and if you can add extra gromits? Cand you send me a link?
Thanks, But no thanks Danny boy why would I buy your poncho in this day & age (money is in short supply) when I have the OneWind poncho for way-way less. But it does look nice just not for 150 Bucks
“Looking like a wild wizard”
Hahaha!

Good looking poncho. Was hoping you were going to set it up as an emergency shelter. Awesome video my friend
I love ponchos though I use them as tents more often. My favorite is the Polish Lavvu.
Oilcloth, old tech for the Win 👍
Seems to be well though-out and of a very good quality. I just wish it was longer, say under your knees minimum. Take care, Dan! :)
Pretty slick!
I see what you did there!😂
🙄
So is the price 💸💸💸
Good video got one German one canvas 👍💯👌✌️
That poncho is awesome!!
That is amazing poncho!
Great move I love it.
Probably order it soon.
May want extra gromits
That looks great.
I’ve ordered one today
Shoot, I love camping in the rain

Looks like a great item. And I'm digging your capri pants 😁
😂✊️🔥
Can we see it set up in a tarp shelter an then two of them put together as one
😊looks good Dan😊

Nice!
I like your products. Not sure if it’s long enough for a 6” person. Sorry for being negative, I do love your channel
Just got mine and I love it! Just can’t figure out how to pack it up
Nice 👍
👍
Very nice. Bet those will be hard to keep in stock.
I hate rain gear. I might try this!
An additional poncho-liner wood be nice!

Those 2 weeks in mid Feb. 😂

I like "wild wizards!"
I would welcome a good soaking rain right now. We are in an extreme drought here and under burn bans and water restrictions. 😢
Come over to the UK we've had nothing but rain this year
I would like to know if that material oil cloth ….is it suitable for hunting purposes meaning is it quiet in use in the woods in pursuit of deer 🦌?
That's an awesome poncho. I sure could have used that this week while camping in the rain. Is there any chance you'll be making it in green like the oilcloth tarps you sell?
What's wrong with looking like a wild wizard? seriously though, it's looks good and I need one of these!
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Just use a pebble 👍
A tie loop would tear in a couple of uses.
Dang, I was really hoping to look lile a wizard
Could I use this as a hammock like my old military one? I love the design of these
Does it have grommets or tie outs on the center seem in line with the hood so you can hang it in an A Frame configuration?
150$ is a little much tbh . Probably not for everyone but it's a lot to me . Still think this is a fantastic channel with great information. Maybe one day I will be able to buy and support your channel.
"You're not gonna look like some wizard." ... Oh.
Can you get a rucksack or backpack under it and still keep your backside covered?
Oilskin ... I know modern oilskin contains wax so that it does not drip all over the place but I still prefer waxed canvas over oilskin.
Question...is it plastic or actual cloth? What type of cloth?
I had ordered me a oil cloth hood via tent Smith, and the hood was made of plastic materials verses the small sample sheet they added (for future repairs?).

But I like looking like a wizard wandering the woods!
Seems a tad smaller than trekker tarp. Esspeccially length wise.
Another too small poncho tarp shelter??? If you are gonna carry gear make it fit. Have fun stay safe.
How does it compare to the old German army rubber poncho? So far i cannot find anything to best it?
I like it...
Tell again why you cut your pants short. Please
I just now went to your website, shelters, there is nothing about this poncho? I need to know price & specs and if you can add extra gromits? Cand you send me a link?
Where are your clothing items made?
How small does this fold down?
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
🇺🇸👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Size. How large are these?
Stop making cool stuff, I have 4 kids and they all want one too 😅
Good but £125 asking price is pretty silly
Toss a woobie under that...magic!!
What If you want to look like a wizard
You need to add a phone number for those of us who don't like to order on line. Great product 👌
