I am currently playing around with a cinematic look. this was all filmed on the DJI Osmo pocket 3, with an ND 64 filter, 25fps and exposure set to 100.

Too Much Noise? - Go for a Walk
Переглядів 33Місяць тому
Hello! In today's video I take a wander through some local woodland, which leads me to the beach and eventually home. Lately, I feel that there just seems to be so much shit going on, it's almost impossible to escape it and the 'noise' around it that it makes it very difficult to think straight. I needed just to get out for a local walk, to see if I could find any silence to help take my mind o...

A Quick Hello & Testing the DJI Osmo Pocket 3
Переглядів 1296 місяців тому
Hello Everyone. This is just a quick hello and to test out my new @DJI Osmo pocket 3. I take a walk along my local beach to test it out in low light settings, as given the 1 inch sensor this camera possesses, the talk is that it performs very well. I'll let you be the judge. Hopefully I'll be out on a proper hike in the coming days with this camera, as well as the DJI Mini 3 pro drone. Anyway, ...

I hope to be out hiking and camping very soon but in the meantime, I took the drone out last night as the sunset was quite incredible. What a beautiful walk from Vilanova to Sitges and back! The coastal walk on the way there and the woodland walk on the way back looked absolutely stunning. The cinematic look you're playing around with really enhances the experience. Thanks for sharing your adventure and the gear you use. It's always great to see what works well in the field. Looking forward to more of your explorations! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad

Hey Martin, very nice cinematic quality to this one. Were you using the DJI camera throughout? The quality and colours are in a different world compared to the GoPro, more like what I get from my 4k DSLR! Hope all is well mate and you're getting some good weather over there. ATB 👍

Hi Mate. Cheers. Yeah all of this was the Osmo pocket 3 throughout. Farting around with it to be honest. I filmed all of this in something called d-log M which gives a broader depth of field but the footage has a washed out feel ,so you have to adjust colour in post. However, DJI have a really good LUT for free that you put over the footage and does an excellent job of bringing the natural colours through. I tweaked it here and there but not a lot. As for the the video following me as i walk, That's active track enabled which you do from the app on the phone so when you walk, it follows you. I also used a ND 32 filter on this but to be honest, didn't really need it. The more I use this camera the more i love it. As for the weather, loads of storms this year so far which is great as it means rain. Still, mid 20's and cool breezes but not for long, gonna get real hot soon. Hope you're both well :-)

@@whatsnottohike I noticed the shallow depth of field on some of the close up shots, it looks excellent, I thought you might've used your phone for those clips. The active track feature also looked really good, it's a seriously good camera, I reckon I'm going to get one at some point. Enjoy the warm weather mate, it's crap here, I was cycling up on the moors today and was bloody freezing for most of the day.

@@Adventure-Outdoors aye, it's definitely worth looking into cause it's super handy just been able to carry it and film whatever as it's super light and just not a bulky thing to be carrying. It does loads of stuff I've not tried yet but plan on doing so but the image quality is stunning really given it's size. Yeah I heard it was still a bit cold there. Summer is usually well and truly with us by now here bit it's been an odd summer so far, mostly in the mid 20s which is bearable. It's when it's mid 30s and 40 when it's nasty. Off to the Pyrenees end of the month for a few days wild camping so should be a little cooler up there. 👍

@@Adventure-Outdoors I also forgot to say that even the standard colour is 10 bit so no real need to use the d-log M, I just wanted to try it and colour grade afterwards. But in all honesty, the out of the box standard colour is awesome and I'll probably just use that from now on

Thanks for posting the video. I have the Pocket 3 myself and it's certainly a handy little camera that actually does go in the pocket! Things I've found which you may or may not be interested in. It does tend to overexpose certain daytime shots which isn't really surprising as it has the larger sensor so I've found setting the EV value to -3 or -7 helps that out. I also reduce the sharpness to -2 and the noise reduction to -1, both these settings reduce the rather 'digital' look. ND filters help of course to get the natural motion blur as opposed to the jittery look at high speeds. Usually reduce the brightness of the screen to about 25 to prolong battery life.

I've got to say mate that camera is outstanding. I thought you'd already switched over to the low light mode 3 mins into the video, lots of definition in the shadows and it manages the highlights really well. It's FAR superior to my GoPro Hero 10; that thing struggles in anything but bright sunshine. There's nowt like some new camera gear to help with the mojo, it's a good excuse to get back out on the trails! ATB mate 👍

Hey Ben. Yeah I'm super happy with it, it's a fantastic piece of kit. I was tempted by the Action 4 camera but as you say, they struggle in anything but daylight. This device has full 4k even in slow mo 120fps, as well as loads of other features. I've seen some decent timelapses of the stars with it which looked incredible so it'll be handy in the mountains. Also, it literally does fit in the pocket so it's a case of taking out, flip the screen and record and I'm super happy with the quality of the images. Was meant to go hiking today but it's pissing down, which is actually good as we desperately need the rain. Thanks for watching, ATB mate. 🙂

No, I mistakenly said Czechoslovakia instead of Czech republic. But it's an awesome app.

Hi. Thanks for watching and subbing, appreciate it. Have fun with your 3 pro. The 4 is out now but don't think there's a great amount of difference. Thanks again. 🙂

Thanks! That bit of comedy was a lot longer than the edited version, took me ages! Hope to be back up that way soon, before the snow arrives. Cheers for watching 🙂
