Love this oil use it in my 17 frontier 4.0 v6 engine is quite has 121873 miles and no problems at all none.
So what oil do you use
I heard Redline is good one then pinzoil then amsoil and probably Vovliene restore and protect...
lol looked up crc freeze off because I got some earlier and put it to use with good results, wanted to see others experience with it, didn’t expect to find a ford boss me video about it led alone his second channel as well as the video about the freeze off but I’m glad I did, subbed!
Although it makes the engine quieter and with better mpg than most good oils.
What is the best oil ? 5w30 for one of my engine the other one is 0w20 engine with turbo they are both gas powered engines , by the way at this moment, I’m using pennzoil ultra platinum , if there’s a better one out there, please let me know thanks
What oil would you recommend??
How much does Blackstone charge for a volatility test. Does anyone know the actual volatility % for this exact oil??
Viscosity= resistance to flow. That's all. A really high Viscosity or low Viscosity only neans how much it has the ability to remove and carry solids.
maybe im a little retarded but is it good oil? and who better molygen or special tec?
Does it matter which way the spade is out into fuse box
You mentioned about better oil with great friction additives, can you recommend what you think is best?
Should have run it for W (tungsten)....I have....have to request it/additional cost. About 150ppm if I recall.
No data on tungsten ? Dont they use that too in the package as it is superior friction modifier compared to moly ?
For how many kilometers should i use 5w30 molygen?
🇺🇸❇⚓🔩⚓❇🇺🇸....¡Beautiful Lincoln dash check!....
Thanks
I agree with needing to know what the virgin oil sample readings were so you can compare it to your used sample. I just received my virgin and used oil sample back from blackstone for liqui moly top tec 4200 5w30. If that is one of the future samples you would like test contact me and I can send you the virgin oil test report
Have you tried a kickstarter on the channel to stop wash out? Just trying to help to get this off the ground when it's dragging.
Meaning?
Great info. Especially letting people know that there's no such thing as lifetime fluid. It's really the lifetime of the warranty. Last Summer I changed my transfer case fluid in my '19 Ranger for the first time. Judging from the amount of the metal dust in it, I should have done at about 3000 miles :(.
I have a new vehicle on order (RAV4 Hybrid), and I drive about 15,000 miles yearly. I'm trying to decide on the best OCI. Five thousand will be my max, but is there any big advantage to doing it at 3K? I keep my cars for at least ten years.
I'm not a mechanic, so I don’t quite have the experience of the gentleman with this channel, but I can say I have the same vehicle and 3K would be overkill on that engine, if I do primary highway driving in the summer say like vacation, I’ll run it to 7k maybe 7500 and it still looks honey brown. In the winter or if I drive hard lots of idling then I go 5k and the only time I really see it look dark is with a lot of idle time. To be fair I haven’t done a oil test but I’m at 100k and I’m not using a drop of oil.
If I was you I would stick with 5K on a hybrid especially something as clean as a RAV4 I would not do anything under 5K I would just keep it right at 5K
So far what I've noticed with using liqui moly molygen 5w40 in my volvo is that it is a little quieter at idle, hasn't discolored yet ( only at 1k mi so far), and driving hard hasn't made me lose any oil and the intercooler piping is clean. Great video man, keep them coming
Doing god’s work. Generous and thoughtful to post these baseline results for all to see.
Rich, this is fantastic. Seriously, I've gotten used samples before, but it never dawned on me as to the need of the base virgin sample. I know this isn't cheap, and time consuming for you. Once we all recover from Christmas and build the piggy bank back up, by donating to this channel and Ford Boss Me, we're the ones who benefit the most. We sure appreciate it, sir.
A par oil at a premium price. Seem to be seeing a lot of that. Not always but a lot. Thanks for the testing👍
Thank you
Mobil 1 It’s the best!
Not even close
@@maintenance101-fbm8 what oil is the best ??
I didn’t know you had this channel so I subscribed 👍👍
Nothing against Liquid Moly, but, I can get the Signature Series cheaper in my region.
Signature Series is honestly a par oil just like this. Amsoil XL boosted is a better oil than the Signature Series. Rich has videos on that as well.
I like how quiet the xl makes me vehicle
@Maintenance 101 - FBM what's a better oil molygen or amsoil boosted?
Subscribed. Great idea. Curious to compare the same oils of Today vs +3,4 and 5 years ago.
I appreciate you showing and explaining that oil analysis report Rich. I new most of it but you answered the rest thanks 👍🏻 That's a great idea about analysis of the fresh oil you intend to use for a base line!
That oil is nothing special , thanks for doing it 👍
do you have fbm permission for this
Lol this is him
@@maintenance101-fbm8 thanks
@@patrogers8912 this channel is his backup channel in case there is something wrong in his main channel
Cool, you asked yourself for permission to do it :)
Silicon is basically sand. It comes in the crude oil and can't be completely refined out. This is why you see silicon in low numbers in Virgin oil. You are correct that a higher number will indicate dust and debris getting into the engine, mostly due to poor air filtration. I would be surprised to see a 0 silicon number. This low of a number also could have even been a speck of dust on the testing equipment or on the bottle.
I appreciate the time, effort and expense you've taken analyzing different motors oils. Thanks for explaining the information on the reports.
It has been a right good min since you have been on here.
It has
Thanks buddy..
So I did not completely add everything in on the sus viscosity and CST viscosity that I should have added it The main part of the viscosity testing is at a given temperature which is typically around operating temperature they take the oil and they actually put it through an orifice and they give it a rating on how it travels through the orifice and the range is for sus viscosity 57 to 65 and CST viscosity 9.4 to 11.9 are the normal ranges for a 5W-30 engine oil The temperature at which the oil is run at directly affects how it flows so when I said the oil shearing that wasn't necessarily correct it was more along the lines of a given temperature at which the engine is run at and the oil flowing at a given rate
Well done for taking on board my comments and making an effort to correct what you said. I hope this will help to address any misinformation. Nice to see some responsibly taken.
Thanks for this big procedure to get the very important Noack value...sorry, in Europe Mobil Exxon has quit several sorts of oils dependend to vehicle manufacturers..even now I tried to use lubricant advisor for my car..and there is no recommendation to it! That tells me, they d'ont make oils for several car makers..only that EP or ESP stuff..crazy I just find out, that this Ravenoil must be the closed values compared to Schaeffers.
thanks again for the time ⏲️ and effort 👌
Good stuff
Rich I have a question about the sync 3 on my Ford F-150 2018 Ford says that my sync 3 is up to date but they sell Navigation updates is that correct. Thanks
Thanks for the explanation rich
What oil type, motor craft and synthetic or blended? I’m working on a 2000 and it uses 5w30, are you using a different weight for a test?
What ever is on the cap
Is it possible for me to do this without lifting it off the ground? Thank you.
It'll be tough
Great video Boss. I have a question Pennzoil ultra platinum, what will it do to my 2022 F250 warranty if I use it? Currently have 2300 miles on the truck.
Nothing just keep it maintained, now if it's not Ford specified and something major happens to the engine they may ask for receipts and that's where things get weird
Nice. I gotta do this to my vehicles.
That’s good spray
Jewel of knowledge, Rich!
I all ways check the entire fuse box. Does not take long.
Who the heck is paying for that job? Plus a key…. Years ago, I was called for a printing press line being down, the operator said it just stopped running. 5 hours later found a switched connection. Now how did that happen I asked him.
I'd like to apologize, a couple of weeks ago I said I was leaving your channel your too grumpy . I was wrong maybe I was the grumpy one . What you do and show is incredible, how you keep your sanity is beyond me . Back to being a sub and hoping you keep doing well .👍
It's frustrating when you end up chasing your tail. Electrical diagnosis was always my "Achilles Heel". Thanks to your videos I am now developing my diagnosis skills. I'm surprised Ford didn't put a better protective cover over the BCM in the passenger's kick panel. Carpeting doesn't offer much protection. Having size 11 "clod hoppers", I could see myself kicking the BCM every time I entered and exited the passenger side. I would think applying some di-electric grease to the pins on the fuel pump driver would alleviate issues. Again, I'm surprised Ford did not put a protective cover of some sort over the driver. The Raptor is intended as an off-road vehicle that is going to be used in muddy, snowy conditions. I have to say that this particular truck is one super nice vehicle. The black body with the silver wheel arch trim is sharp. I really like the look of the wheel and tire package.
