Thanks. Yes it does have vrs modeled. The Taogs Hangar stuff is the best helicopter simulations on any platform in my opinion. The autos are really good. • @simonclark7082

Basically film what ever you want with a high definition camera and then use software like reality capture or metashape to convert to photogrammetry. Obviously the model will be too poly heavy and looks abit rubbish as a raw scan but then if you make a model in blender you can swap out the existing model and overlay the photogrammetry textures for a more realistic clean look.

I'm using a Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog for my cyclic as the handpiece which is now mounted to the VPforce Rhino. I'll send a link to the video I did on the setup. The collective is an old max flight sticks collective with the anti torque pedals as part of that package. I would probably get a virpal one if I was to get a collective from the start again and plan to upgrade to a virpal which is superior quality. The forcefeedback on the cyclic is something I couldn't go without now as the VPforce is soo good. It's not something you need to start obviously but it's absolutely enhances the experience to the next level. I've had various headsets over the years and they have only got better. Currently I have a Pimax Crystal, which has outstanding visuals and field of view. Simon I am hugely enjoying your NZ back country sceneries, and admire your sim helicoptering skills! The "Deadman's Curve" though, is an advisory flight regime based largely on the pilot's expected reaction time to initiate autorotation. As such, it is the relationship between height and SPEED, not distance. In your video, you are using distance. Although this could coincide with speed in establishing a takeoff profile, your graphic does not indicate a "safe" area in the sky. You are in fact inside the DMC when you stop and turn around at 2:00 at low altitude ! Nitpicking I know, but it's only because I so thoroughly enjoy your generally high quality stuff! Keep up the good work.

Great video and tips for practice. Nice scenery to show it off. You are really good at handling the Shrike😱 I feel like I am nitpicking on you a lot 🙈 but if you are aiming for us beginner it would be nice if you explained how you balance the helicopter on the slope. I have tried this on a slope and depending on the wind or some kind of draft I really needed to balance with the cyclic like in hover. Thanks again for the series of videos🙏

@@MagnusThornberg thanks alot. Yeah toe in landings take abit of practice but basically once you have the toes in the ground, lower collective and tilt the disc into the slope, same for a sideways one skid. Lowering collective and tipping the disc in helps plant the part of the skid you have there firmly so your not light and moving around. Watch the rotor clearance on steep stuff tho. 😅

The cyclic is a Hotas Warthog stick mounted in a VP Force Rhino force feed back base. Works great for helicopters particularly for simulating the vibrations and force trim on a 500.

It depends where you bought the model. I never buy anything off the in game marketplace as all the cfgs are encrypted. But if you get from the developers themselves all the cfgs can be edited. The one I have for the shrike is one a friend modded for me and then I've tweaked it further myself to make it a really enjoyable helicopter to fly in the sim now. He has many incredible videos from his work in the fjords of Norway. The landscape is much like New Zealand they say. One of his videos he shows the cyclic sensitivity of the helicopter. And how stable it is in trim with the friction knob is tight. He adjust the friction depending on what he is doing. When sling loading he seems to have it free and when transporting a little bit tighter. You learn tons of stuff just to watch him work.
