Can this 49 Chevy chassis handle an LS Swap ?
Can this 49 Chevy chassis handle an LS Swap ?. I'm going to find out in this episode where I start cleaning it up and prepping it for paint and its new rear suspension. I finally got the 1949 chevy chassis easily accessible and out from under the Styleline Deluxe. I start by knocking off the 75 years of dirt and undercoat and remove the old rusty brake lines and fuel lines. After I get most of the debris off I can take it outside and grind the rusty scale down a little to prepare this 49 chassis for some satin black paint. I ordered the rear suspension kit that should be showing up soon and I'll be revealing what company and what kit I went with as soon as it shows up so stay tuned. Make sure to subscribe to follow all of the videos, I really appreciate all of you that have shown your support by giving me a thumbs up and subscribing.

Lifting the 49 Chevy body off the chassis
Переглядів 33614 днів тому
I'm finally lifting the 49 Chevy body off the chassis after a lot of planning and preparing. I had to plan out a body cradle to set the old girl on, I built a heavy duty wood table out of 4x4's and 4x6's and lag bolted it together. I ran two heavy steel beams across the span of the table to support the rocker area of the 49 Chevy. I'll be welding the rockers to the steel beams so it can't slide...
LS SWAP style that anyone can afford

How to add budget ls swap style that anyone can afford. It's time to install the accessory brackets on my LS Swap 1949 Chevy. I'm utilizing my original brackets and components and want to add a little unique style to them. I accomplish by cleaning and degreasing them and painting them all in a satin black finish. All components get painted even the alternator housing and tensioner body. I'm sho...

In this video I'm installing a ls drivetrain into an old chevy coupe. I got the 4L60E transmission cleaned up in last episode with a new filter and transmission pan along with a fresh coat of paint. So now it's time to mate the 4.8L ls engine up with the freshened up 4L60E transmission and see if the drivetrain will fit into the 49 chevy coupe. Watch as I wrestle with the combo to get it seated...
LS swap transmission budget build will it survive!?!

Welcome back in this video I show you how I ls swap transmission budget build for my 1949 Chevy coupe. I bought this 4L60E transmission with my junkyard LS swap and don't really know anything about it. The junkyard dog I bought it from said it shifted and was a good transmission. I'm hoping he was right cause I really don't want to pay for a rebuilt transmission at this time. I start by cleanin...

Working on my 1970 Chevy Nova fixing coolant leaks and doing burnouts!!!. Thats what this video is about my big block chevy in my Nova has been slowly leaking coolant from the water outlet gasket. And of course it solves the problem, after fixing...

    And by the way, I’ve watched like 100 of these videos and yours is by far the nicest .. it’s the most informative and you’re explaining it while you’re doing it, which is very easy to comprehend for people that have issues with books so I feel like it was very easy to learn what you were conveying. Thank you.

    I don’t think the video was long at all. I think it was very informative. I guess if you wanted to shorten it, you could just do like three out of eight repetitive processes when it comes to like the bow training and what not but in reality, I gained a lot of knowledge from this video so I think it was perfectly timed personally.

    I’m curious with the oil pan why don’t you just cut around the pick up tube only and you still have the window tray over the front bearings of the crank or whatever I feel like being on the opposite side would be enough to secure that in place where you would just need to cut closely around the actual pick up to I mean I can be wrong. I’ve never done it but I’m about to do one. I think that’s what I’ll be doing with mine, I’ll let you know if it works out.

  • @GRANITEMONUMENT
    @GRANITEMONUMENT Місяць тому

    Do you need to mess with the oil pan to set it on the mustang cross member, I got my mustang II kit, and double adjustable coil overs, deciding weather to go 5.3 or 6.0 ls , I’m not so worried about it lasting forever, so might just cram some boost in a 6.0 or spray it, but I think boost is cheeper over time?

    • @atomicspeedgarage
      @atomicspeedgarage Місяць тому

      I’m laying mine on the ground so I had to go with the 302-2 oil pan for ground clearance, I believe you would at least have to run a Camaro pan otherwise the truck pan will hang down below the crossmember.
