Rear door internal handle relocation on Citroen Relay / Ducato / Boxer / Promaster.
In this video I relocate the rear door handle on my Citroen Relay camper van. the same process and kit fits the Ducato, Boxer and Promaster.
When installing a fixed bed, the door handle in its original location usually then is at the same height as the bed frame meaning that, in an emergency, you cant open the door.
The kit came from Voyage Adventure Vans as a complete kit including the cable, ply template and fixing kit

    Seems you use "ignition" and not D+ the difference is that with ignition active the generator may not yet run because the engine is not yet started. D+ active guarantees that the generator is running ensuring that your vehicle battery is not drained.

    Hi, that's a really helpful video. Can I ask a question though? How long are the seatbelt stalks that you fitted? When I've measured the ones on the double seat (one of which I would use) they look to be around 23 / 24 cm in length (end to end). I think this would mean they'll stick out too far through the seat. Hope you can help.

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203 12 днів тому

      Uh! The stalk is from the double seat that was in the van. if anything I fancy it is a bit low and could be an inch higher in an ideal world. if you use the stalk from the double and do the same thing you should be fine. Oh, disclaimer! you should not copy what I did and it is not a 'how to' or 'tutorial' and is NOT SAFE! the video is for entertainment purposes only. now that's out of the way, good luck with it.

    1. The drivers' seat are generally more worn out. 2. The armrest and lumbar adjustment are on the wrong side. Especially the armrest by the door is completely useless. 3. Standard single seat bolt should have been used for passenger's safety reasons. In case of an accident, the seat should remain in place and not fly out with the passenger through the windshield. The bolts should still be available at the dealership. 4. When playing with the seats, not being sure if the van is equipped with airbags and tensionners, the battery should be disconnected to avoid shortcuts causing potential problems with the airbag ECU and expensive repair. There is a special procedure on battery disconnection described it the owners' manual. 5. The seatbelts are different if the seat is equipped with a tensionner. So, as all drivers seat are equipped with it, the seatbelt clamp (?) won't fit if the van was not equipped with a passenger airbag and tensionner. Having those in mind (especially points 3, 4 and 5), I'd say the video is potentially dangerous and should not be considered as a tutorial.

    Hello, I have an H3 van and I'm trying to work out whether I put the awning on the side (F45) or on the roof (F80). I have a tall Vango drive away tent which says it's height is 255-295. Diy camper builders all seem to go down a black hole when it comes to insulation Inc you Let's put this into perspective No van or campervan on the planned is air tight Not one, if that was the case, People would die from a lack off oxygen. And with every justification to insulate. I can counter that argument because no one touches the cab area That's a 3rd off most vans If it was ubba critical to have to insulate or prevent heat loss, moisture etc etc at the back, why does that go out off the window when it comes to the cab Taking a realistic approach is something I've not seen by ANYONE

    2 years ago we converted a brand new Iveco Daily L4H3 which we now live in. That wasn't the plan originally but after two 90 day trips to Europe we hated being in a house. We stop warm air from touching cold metal by sticking foil bubble wrap to every inch of metal on the inside. We then insulated it with wool. 2 years on, a season sking in the alps and 2 summers in 30 degrees plus and we would recommend that method to anyone. We have no damp and the only condensation we get is on the windows of the cab.

I too heard about these brackets but never found them. if really concerned I think you could use spacers or washers with the existing brackets to gain a little bit extra. hope that helps.

Ive just thought that the front door deadlocks are not in the video, if not then I did fit them afterwards...
