I am a historical wargamer living in the south of Tasmania. I play Sharp Practice, Chain of Command, Infamy Infamy, What a Tanker, Dead Man’s Hand, Men Who Would Be Kings and Wings of Glory.
Randomness in the Valley. Sharp Practice in the French and Indian War
We used plenty of random rolls in this homemade scenario, with everything from force composition, deployment and animal attacks being rolled for randomness. A video regarding random additions to gaming is coming soon.

great game I am hoping to have a French /Indian wargame using Sharpe Practice in a couple of weeks once my current Brigade Fire and Fury one ends. not having played Sharpe Practice it was good to see your game but. to my recollection units are eight figures not six; is this a house variation you use?
Great video
I like it, nice table and figures. well done, mate.
well your problem is that you bought the black one and not a brown one.
Nice video can you share your home scenario’s? It’s a great game thanks
A really personal video. It's interesting to see how your love or hobby for war gaming developed. It's quite similar to me. I also played with toy soldiers and warhammer figures of my brother. Great content dude!
The idea with the bear is really cool. Loving the videos so far. Are you going to play some more wings of war / wings of glory?
Lovely table, sounds like a set of rules you enjoy gaming. You want to base those single treeson large metal washers to give the base some weight.
That’s exactly what I’ve done but the angle of the hill was just too steep. 👍
Cool 👍
Well done sir 🙂👍
Looked like chaos and a lot of fun
Thanks Dom, it certainly was chaotic and the best laid plans went out the window. The random aspect was a lot of fun if it suits the scenario. Players who prefer a more ordered game where everything goes to plan may not enjoy it.
Very nice game and a lovely idea with the Bear roaming around.🐻🐒🤗👍
Thanks. The bear makes a regular appearance in our North American games. Sometimes it’ll just roam around but when it does make contact it’s 6 hits in fisticuffs and 6 wounds with no chance of shock is just enough to cause mayhem.
I do like your splendid terrain, great looking game!
Always a treat to see another video from you guys. Hope you are keeping well.
Thanks mate. Between University and work we’re still managing a game every week.
Good looking table and nice idea with the tokens.🐻🐒🤗👍
Your tables always look great! Where do you get STLs for buildings and other terrain?
There’s not too much 3D printed terrain on this table although I do print terrain. The buildings are resin, manufacturer unknown. The scatter terrain is mainly resin purchased over the years. I’ve had great results with files from printablescenery.com and 3dprintterrain.de.
A lovely game on a superb table! 👍👍
Great game and scenario background.
Looks like you blokes had fun! Great to see another video from you Darren 🙂👍
Thanks mate, it’s been a long time but I’m trying to get back into the videos.
What's the rough point value of each force?
all looks good , thx vfor video👍
Nice table and miniatures. Happy New Year. Hope your keeping well.
Happy New Year to you too. I’m looking forward to a gaming-filled 2023. I hope you have a great one too.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant!!! So good to see some of the miniatures Ben & I painted take to the field. Looking forward to more videos.
The table (terrain and buildings) is awesome, and the close ups on the figures very impressive, great looking game!
where did you get the game mat from please?
Hi, I’m sorry for the late reply. I bought the mat second hand and it doesn’t indicate the manufacturer and may have been custom made.
What models are you using ?
Hey, sorry for the late reply. The figures manufacturer is unknown as John bought them second hand.
Thank you for your wonderful review. Looking forward to the next video with Carentan.
A nice collection of projects. I really like those WOTR figures, some real character about them. Hope you got your roof fixed by the way. 👍
Nice. I’m thinking about this era. Sharp Practice.
Not my idea of a wet weekend :D
Good update 👍
Interesting box of plastic opportunity Darren. you do need to get that roof fixed to protect your hobby space. Are the 15mm Essex or Mikes Models?
Lovely update mate,nice chariots
Great update Darren and an interesting assortment of projects. I agree with your choice to go with colour on the chariots, our ancestors were just as keen on decoration as we are.
Interesting toolkit. I went with a different solution for shock markers: I bought a bag of small wooden cubes from a cheapstore and painted them dark green. I then used a white marker to add roman numerals to 5 of the 6 faces. Some are marked I - V, the rest are marked VI - X. This allows up to 10 points of shock to be shown by a single token. Just a thought.
Some nice looking pieces for a good price
Very nice. I’ll have a look out for them
Superb terrain pieces, love the well...
Excellent additions to your tabletop mate. Glad to hear you blokes are on the mend & back to gaming soon.
Thanks mate. I’m getting back into painting too after a break, starting with dark age Scots I got from you. 👍
Great looking board, interesting game. Cheers
Great to see a video from you guys. When is John putting on a big Sudan game? Might bring down troops for that 🙂
Hopefully when he finishes the terrain. So maybe another ten years…..😁 Seriously though, it’d be great to catch up with you for a game. 👍
Excellent looking figures!
Great looking game. I really like the idea for the scenario too. 👍
That's not good m8, there are lots of stores in the UK that's have discount on many wargames items, do you have any there ? It's a pity you didn't know some one in the UK that could post it order cheaper for you. 😎
Nice game 20mm the gentleman's scale.🐻🤗👍
Fun scenario looked like a blast
That's a very nice board, if a bit flat and there is no snow. But it mid summer for you so perhaps no snow is correct. Any canoes to cross the river?
Definitely a spring campaign. 😁 Canoes are a good idea. I’ll have to print some up. 👍
Lovely river and figures, nice looking game!
Cheers. 👍
Thanks for another great battle report gents!
No worries, mate. No gaming next week but it’ll be Chain of Command in 20mm when we return.
@@thattassiewargamer Looking forward to it 🙂
Good looking table. So the summer holidays are over and back to some gaming.
