I am Filipino Anglo indian , brought up by my Anglo mother and grandmother. And of course only saw British and American movies from my childhold, born 1966. So I was watching these movies and t.v. pictures from an early age. My Filipino father was a musician and as abroad all my childhood, don't know any Tagalog.

In English, we say "it" for example, "It has two teeth in its head."

You should know - in English we also call something expensive "dear". Like, this food was very dear. It's a little rare, but I think the meaning of a person being "dear" to you, in both languages, comes from the word for expensive, and therefore valuable to you.
