I wouldn’t worry about about him , he’s probably sick or he’s in one of those moods that once in a while he just not with, But once he’s on the roll he’s one of if not the best on the ice, no worries on my end . I also wouldn’t worry about Riely , I rather see him on a minus now than the playoff. Morgan will do just fine. The one thing that worries me a bit is PP. SHOOT THE GOD DAME PUCK FOR CHRIST SAKE… They have all the talent in the league but choose to be Disney on ice .. Anyhow Happy New Year Boys 👍

I always watch your new episodes u have really great insights I’m been a leaf fan my whole life. Best team I saw in playoffs was when Matt’s sundin was here with Eddie the eagle. I thought they actually had a chance to win a Stanley cup with that team. Happy new year guys take care.

Matthews going on LTIR after the 4 nation tournament would fix a lot of issues. Leafs need to add two centres, not just one. They need to upgrade on Kampf. Yanni Gourde would be perfect. And they need a 2C in case Matthews is injured for the playoffs. Someone like Kadri, ROR, or Brock Nelson. They also need a right shot D partner for Rielly.

I dont actually think this has been a great start for the Craig Berube tenure...I think their D looking better was a myth and Stolarz made it look way better than it actually is. If they didn't get Vezina style goaltending for the first 2 months they could be a .500 team. It feels like when they get down 2 it is almost insurmountable. I dont know, I know their record is good but they don't pass the eye test to me. They have been out shot in most games, they haven't even reached 20 shots in like 8 games this year. I knew when Stolarz went out they would kind of be exposed. they were barely winning games 2-1 while being outshot by 15 and having Stolarz win all 3 stars...That is not a sustainable strategy.

Last year in the playoffs Matthews led the team in points and Nylander led in goals and they both missed games. Matthews scored the winner in game 2. Assisted on the 2-1 goal in game 7. Willy scored the 2-1 goal in game 7. I dunno if you guys remember that series properly.

Knee pain may be the result of an injury, such as a ruptured ligament or torn cartilage. Medical conditions - including arthritis, gout and infections - also can cause knee pain. I had this injury as a Goalie for many years , For me it never goes away even with therapy unfortunately. You can still play but then it becomes mind over matter. It does play with you if your thinking about it . Overall it is a problem that doesn’t go away with me unfortunately. It may differ with others I’m not sure. But it is a problem

Thats why people saying that Mathews will be the one to beat Ovis goal record, so many things have to go your way. Math seems checks out but many players were going ham in Austin's age and then body just gave up.

I don’t normally disagree with Ryan but I think his take on Nylander is off. Yes, he’s having a good season offensively but he’s a liability on defence. Also he tries to make Marner style moves and usually coughs it up. Ease up on how wonderful Willy is.

I like Matthews but he is way to fragile...If he took the hit Knies took he would have retired.

Even with Matthews in the lineup, I don't see them finishing ahead of FLA and winning the division. They're going to finish 2nd or 3rd in the division whether Matthews is playing or not, so there really is no point for him to be playing hurt. Just FYI "pebble in the knee" is a colloquial term for a loose piece of cartilage that broke off. It might be a piece of bone but it's far less likely. He needs arthroscopic surgery to remove it but it's not as bad as full blown knee surgery.

Matthews has always looked like he's laboring. He's just not a prime time gamer - the game gets too hard for him, and he's always struggled to muster up the attitude and energy when it's needed most. No jam.

The entire left side of the sportsnet panel needs to bail out without a chute. I mute Ronnie the cringe McLean whenever he opens his mouth to puke out another one of his irritating puns. Keeping him and firing Cherry was the worst move ever.

Matthews and Rielly, their most expensive forward and defenceman, haven't been playing like it. But they deserve grace. Matthews needs to get fully healthy and Rielly needs a partner like Schenn to elevate. If they're not at their best come April then the Leafs have no chance.
