As someone that has been in metal bands and can scream. The impressive part in this performance is the run she does in the bridge going into the last chorus. Transitioning from the cleans to screaming is more difficult after that run. Screaming takes a lot of air and pressure. You don’t let it all out in once sentence like you do singing. So is out of breath after the run and then has to take one big inhale and hold it to get through each bar of the chorus. That is why she is out of breath at the end of the song. She essentially held her breath for the last 3 minutes or so.

Underviewed, under-appreciated artist and song. Just start anywhere.

Not sure if you're also aware that she is a very talented songwriter and has been selling her songs since age 14 when she was still at school. She's written for Beyonce on both her last two albums and has written for other big names: Alicia Keys, John Ledgend etc. She also co directs all her music videos and also does production and sound engineering too - seeing her behind the scenes cooking in the studio is really cool.

I think there's a fine line between self-interested kindness that isn't demanding, and manipulation. It's fine to bring kindness in HOPES that it creates a feedback loop and everyone benefits in the long run, but it's not fine to be kind with the EXPECTATION that it means people owe you favors. Like, let's take taxes and schools as an example.
