The train conductor is played by Mirjam Piuk, who is one of EC's makeup artists & a cosplayer in her own right. She's also in a couple of other EC videos you haven't watched yet - "Everytime We Touch" and "Spaceman".
The thing with EC is that they're not taking themselves too seriously on tracks like these, they just like making fun songs! There's this song called Castrop x Spandau (which is a feature with Kalle Koschinsky), and it's literally nothing but funny German party lyrics that can't be taken seriously at all! (Take it from a German, those lyrics are funny but it's one of the most unserious songs I've heard in a long time.) If they're taking the song seriously, you'll notice.
This song took me a couple of listens/watches before I clicked with it compared to the rest, but I appreciate it now. I always tell people who may hear me listening to one of their songs, watch the music video first, cause it adds so much to relistens as you just replay the video in your head and yeah, you get that stupid grin on your face no matter where you are at. Workout music you say? They heard people comment the same about their songs and that's how the song "Pump it" came to be, so sounds like that's next up :)
When they dive into the metal or deathcore style, I don't think of it as "dark" or "angry." I think of it all as "feel-good metal." Except for their serious songs (most recently, Hate/Love, Mindreader, and Parasite), of course. They're not meant to be feel-good anything.
