What's it like two up with luggage?
It could do with a heavier spring with my 110kg weight and a full load camping gear and supplies so I imagine it's know about having 2 people and luggage
How good is on highway with a pillion? I like the bike, but 4-5 times a year I need to go on a highway

G'Day Derek & Leonie, Cool videos guys, thank you. I have a question. When you're towing your Caravan do you select Drive in the transmission or do you lock the transmission in a lower gear? We have a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2022 and we have just purchased a Jayco Destiny Caravan. If you could explain to me how you set up your transmission when towing I would appreciate it very much. Mate, what a great review. I haven't seen one bad review yet on that bike. My prediction, the competition will be lifting their game and bringing something similar out because their sales will drop dramatically. I feel you're spot on about Chinese stuff not holding value, but that's why they are cheap, because of cheaper quality materials in manufacture. The positive to that is averaging the price out, so $9k over say ten years is $900 per year. Bingo. Winner winner. Bonus is a couple grand back reselling. A big plus for this bike is long distance rides. This bike can do a thousand k's a day going by other reviews, where before, these distances were in the realm of much bigger bikes.
I'd trade all my bikes for the fj75.
I thought this bike came stock with crash bars.? 🤔 Hard to keep track of all these different bikes.
My concern is what it would look like in rainy salted roads northern Europe or US
Good question.. how they'll age is the million dollar question We'll all find out soon enough suppose
So if it's an adventure bike then how come the adventure bikes are sitting on a trailer. The reason they come out with dual purpose tyres is so you can ride it on/off road. Knobbly tyres are for Enduro/ MX/Trail bikes not adventure bikes. You've probably found out that your knobbly tyres don't last on the road very long-most dual purpose tyres will last 10,000 km for a rear & probably double for the front.
Fair comment... I unfortunately still work for a living a d have limited time off... Using the car allows me to travel at night and get to the outback with limited time
Awesome ride and video! If you have a GPX file of the ride, can you please upload it?
I just grab GPX files from transaustraliatrails.com.au There's plenty there to choose from
Where does the water enter the frame?
Up the top there is small holes by the looks... Apparently CFMoto has made a fix for the originals and new ones are already sorted
@@derekandleonie5636Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about preordering one for Feb-March 2025. They are totally out of stock here in Spain. Just 300€ and you can get your bike in 2025 and avoid possible price raises. Greetings from Madrid. 😊
Hi Derek, just wrote to you on your other video. I weigh 105kg so good to see this info from you regarding shocks and weight, also, I mentioned the issue regarding spares being an issue. Good review so thanks.
Hi Derek, when I google the weight of the TOUAREG it comes back @ 187kg, the MT 450 @ 175kg and a DR650 @ 162kg. Which is correct? Riding a CF 450 this Saturday, mate sells them here in Sydney, the only noise that is starting to pop up regarding the MT is wait time for spare parts so don't know if this is an issue. The eternal question, as an elderly novice do I buy a good DR with everything on it, around $8K to $10K or new MT 450? The MT has a couple of things to do, sump guard, barkbusters, bigger better footpegs, high guard kit which would add around $800 to the price taking it to over $10K with a $9,800 starting price. What do you think?
We weighed both bikes with Darryl's commercial scale and the difference was a lot more than what Google says
All I have to do is save the money and I’m sold on one of these little monsters

I'm looking at getting either Apilla or African Twin. I sold mine with 500 something KMs on it. Is your throtle super twitchy at slower speeds?
It wasn't twitchy for me but others have found they need to adjust the throttle cable a little

My question may sound like a snipe, but it's not. Wondering why you have a gps mounted under the windscreen as well as a phone. Couldn't you just shove your phone in your pocket and run the comms off the helmet unit. I had my phone mounted to view the gps map, but now I have the bigger IPAD mounted so the phone sits in the pocket..
@@tomdennis1474 I use both.. I use the phone to follow a GPX track and I use the GPS to locate the next town or nearest fuel etc

Im a DRZ guy also, rode a MT yesterday. It blows the DRZ out of the water for comfort and smooth riding but my bike has heaps more down low, i can get mine on one wheel in third and struggled to get a clutch up in first on this. But yep defiantly a nice ride, forth fifth and sixth gear are nice.
Thanks for the honest review! You gave it such high praise, im looking at getting this as my first bike! Been eyeing the ADV segment for a while, and nothing came up for a decent price and the features i wanted/was comfortable with. Love the looks of the T7, but skeptical about it being my first bike. This came up and reviewers love the 450 Ibex/MT! This was the most down to earth review ive seen of it, and greatly appreciate it. Trying to put a down payment on one at the local dealer soon. They said they should have them by Feb-March for the USA near me. Excellent review and just know you've completely sold me on this 450MT/IBEX! Thanks again!
@@gzeus6332 thanks mate Glad you liked it 👍
im 46yo been riding since i was 4yo I would advise not getting a T7 for your first steed. I've ridden both and the MT sounds like its for you. Enjoy mate
@@pucknhusker9426 Thanks! Yeah, the T7 is a fantastic looking and performing bike, but man, the heft of it for my 170lb 6ft frame, it doesn't work very well for me haha. Can't wait to sit on the 450MT soon. Would you suggest getting the taller rally seat? Or just keep the standard seat? It'll probably be 60/40 (on-road/light dirt), already plan to get the taller windscreen.

How's the bike do on the motorway with the 15t sprocket? Looking at ordering one for my winter commuter bike but felt the stock config was a little weak on the motorway trying to pull over 115kph. Cruising speed here is 130kph so would appreciate your insights.

Another review with a subframe filled with water. I've seen a number of reviews from Australia where they took those subframe members off and dumped a lot of water out of the frame. It makes one wonder where else it is collecting water.

@@1222dan yep A 15 tooth sprocket upgrade would make that even more comfortable
85mph = 8150 rpm
Great video. I do have some questions, mate. Do you think the bike is comfortable enough to tour on? I am planning to go on a 5-country tour. The journey will be mostly on paved road, but will cover hills, dunes and beaches about 25 thousand KMs in total, I'll cover about 600-800Km per day. Is the engine buzzy at 100-120kph? What is the fuel consumption like? cheers
@@safayatjamil2719 it'll be fine I'd recommend a 15 tooth sprocket upgrade for a tour like that and my consumption is around 4.5 litres per hundred km
@@derekandleonie5636 NGL the consumption seems very bad. NX500 does 3.2L/100km. I was hoping it'd go near that number.
Having just the 1000 km service get done on my 45üMT, the only thing I am a bit wondering is, that the engine temperature so often reaches 90 °C which switches the fan/radiator on. Even today on a 12°C early automn day in Europe.... Had many bikes and brands, but never experienced this in a similar way, means so often having the need the fan to jump in. Anyone observing this as well?
In haven't noticed it so much on this bike .. the super tenere fan probably kicks in more often to be honest
