    I bought my a7iv with a GM 16-35 f2.8 & life happened I forgot how crazy good this camera is & the image it produces thanks for this video inspires me to go out to shoot more

    • @BryceDocherty
      @BryceDocherty Місяць тому

      For sure. In my opinion every camera today over 2k can produce a good image. It's always about who's behind the camera, and what's in the frame that matters most. The camera is just capturing information. I know you know that. I just wanted to say it. We get too caught up in gear these days. That's the only reason most people watch this vid. They think, is the a7iv capable. The question more is am I capable, as the artist. You can use many cameras. This would have been pretty much the same with a C70, Black Magic, FX6, Lumix. We always get uninspired and think gear will change our mindset and make us inspired. But that only lasts so long. Sorry for the rant lol. I just feel enough people don't say this. Thanks for watching!

    Although the over-poetic delivery isn't my kinda thing, you made me feel through this short film and I was in tears by minute 2. And that's what art is all about - making you experience feelings and emotions deep down. Thank you, and I am sorry for your loss. <3

    • @BryceDocherty
      @BryceDocherty Місяць тому

      Thank you so much for watching! Yes the poetic aspect wasn't my thing either, but I really wanted to try something different. I'm exploring making the film as much as I am in the film itself and in my life. I think we are all subtly trying to seek answers, and our voices end up echoing into the great abyss. It's fascinating to me what makes us human, and why we are the way we are. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

    Your correct about when racial unrest came to a head around 1967 , I remember walking out of church that same year as a 10 year old boy and for the first time saw the destruction that it brought to Cairo, the city never recovered after that , my dad sold produce in that area and never was able to do any hood in Cairo , we would pass through and sell in the small towns on past Cairo like Mounds and Mounds City , Klondike was the last town we would sell in before heading back across the Bridge to southeast Missouri where we lived and your pronouncing the name wrong, it’s pronounced CARE-ROW

    I think had a year pretty similar to yours last year. I had a lot of health problems, and a really stressful job. Now it seems that no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to do much. I get tired very easy, and it feels terrible. There are so many things that I'd like to do, but I can't do any of them. I've wanted to be a film maker by whole life and something was always in the way. I finally managed to save enough money to be able to exclusively do it, and I thought now I'll be able to really push forward in this career. But it hasn't turned out that way. I get what you mean about not having to act. I feel the same way.

      Thanks so much for watching man. Yea it's so hard, especially when mentally and physically you don't feel the best. Lately I've really been holding myself accountable for my actions. Associating myself too much with having mold toxicity, making it an excuse really. Although I don't feel 100% I realized I wasn't taking all the steps to make sure I was healthy. Spending time on me. Not on my phone, not worried about the future or thinking about the past. But being present and being thankful. Because I know now we will always just strive to achieve more and more and more. It never ends. Achieving goals makes you feel good, but it's not where happiness comes from. So I say make sure you are spending time on yourself and not comparing yourself to others. We all know these things, but we don't apply them to our own lives. Thanks for reading.

      Muhahahah. I had to pay him to do the voice over. And yes dude it totally is. And honestly all this social media , content creation, UA-cam filmmaking jazz is fake. It won't make you happy. Trust me. No matter how good you get with a camera, it's not where happiness comes from. Enjoy the process. Create for you. Don't compare yourself to others. I know we hear these things, but we never implement them. As creators we think we constantly have to be posting for we will be forgotten about. But we are anyways. No one cares about you and what you are doing. They are worried about themselves. Once I realized this it was the most freeing thing for me. I just want to pay it forward. Thanks for reading.
