Thanks for this. I had to bury a 1 day doc I shot after a lot of hullabaloo (filming all day with a friend and his family, bringing in another friend to shoot), and I still feel guilty that it didn't turn into something. But the story we thought was there wasn't there, or didn't come out during the shoot, so I didn't know what to do with it. Anyways, your images are gorgeous, hopefully that's not confusing providing external validation from other filmmakers haha, looks like you also went pretty deep with your subject and that's commendable too, although frustrating I"m sure that you couldn't bring it home in the end. Keep it up.
Obviously what you are saying here, is very interesting and very true... but I also have to mention that your cinematography is gorgeous man. Also seems you have such a great and unique access to the character of your new film. Keep up man.

Another good video 🙌. I feel like the internet and technology advancements have been the best and worst things for human evolution. There is a very inorganic way that people learn and grow, with so much available at your fingertips. And while that is amazing, between that and everyone being social media connected, how much intimacy is there left? There are some very real and different social and mental challenges that are a result of our time.
I dislike almost everything I create because I compare it to others. It's lost on me that others view it differently than how I'm seeing. They may see it like I see other creators videos. It's so weird when you see your art as it's built. It's hard to explain. During the process you work so hard & it just never seems satisfactory because then you see what others do & you feel like you failed in what could have been. Maybe that doesn't make sense but I feel like no creator is ever fully satisfied. Insert the title "struggling artist".
Yes that's exactly it. And it's a bit of a curse at a certain point. I've just learned to except that nothing will ever be perfect, even though we so desperately want our art to be.
