We are in different phases in life. I’m 2 months from retiring. Your videos are great to watch. I also understand your need for good gear since you document your trips and have your UA-cam channel. Me? Years of having too much equipment that I never took along made me go to radical change. I now go with a compact Sony 1 inch sensor camera with a 24-70 zoom range. (It still prints A3 sized photos razor sharp) It is a delight not to carry all the weight. Seeing you with all the lenses and bodies makes me smile sometimes. But hey… I understand why they are important for you. And be aware I find your videos inspiring and I learn a lot from them. So keep making them. I am a fan! 👍

Random question but does your Zve1 have a ! Sticker on the back ? I’m seeing that some have it and others don’t. I wonder if there are two version of the Zve1 out there.

I wonder if you would ever consider a v-flat. I know they have one cone like product that spreads light all around small subjects. Will you try to use reflectors to bounce light, that would be interesting to see.

The Pocket 3 is marketed in the same niche as action cameras. It's misleading. I briefly owned the Pocket 3 swayed by the idea of bigger sensor and better lowlight (gimbal) than an action camera. But the reality is that it's a vlogging camera. While the footprint and setup is faster than a traditional ILC, you treat them the same way, gently. Action cameras, can be used as a vlogging camera, but they're much more useful as POV and b-roll shots.

Just wanted to say that I don't feel like any of your videos feel "scripted". You seem authenticate and passionate about what you do, so I think that is what comes across to your viewers when you talk about stuff. You just keep doing you and however you feel like doing it. Those mushroom pics are STUNNING.

You can also use continuous lighting with focus stacking/post focus. BTW I love mushrooms too 👌🏻

Love the results though. That light isn't exactly portable for macro purposes, LOL. But I get you are reviewing it and successfully used it in an unexpected way. It sort of looks like another camera which I find odd. There are smaller and probably equally powerful LED panels you can comfortably setup with small travel tripods for macro. It's all about getting into small spaces.

I wanted to upgrade my camera but first I got this light and I realized I don't need a new camera. I'm in love with ZHIYUN so it made me realize that the quality of photos is not about camera but it's about light.

35mm is my favorite focal length. But I love using my 24mm GM lens. I'm always afraid of taking street photography of random people because of the idea of them getting angry and approaching me after.

The first step in recovery is admitting you are the problem lol I like mine better than I thought I would. It has the limitations you mentioned, but it also a lot of good things that I like.

On those 3 lenses (24, 40 and 50) just go to A mode on the lens (that's a hard stop) and use your front dial (or what you set it up as) to manage the Aperture :)

Go out on the street during an event, over here we have Kingsday or the Pride Canal Parade and on those days people are just partying and mostly like their picture being taken. It is a good opportunity to practice with almost zero risk of confrontation... and plenty people about!
