How to love the unloveable
Your self love journey starts here.
Compassion, self acceptance, and allowing yourself to be human.
I hope this helps you get started on your path to self love and acceptance.
I also want you to know I did not do this alone. And you shouldn’t either. Find a coach or a therapist that speicializes in self love and acceptance or overcoming trauma, and start reframing all of the things we are mad or ashamed about ourselves into something more compassionate and loving 🥰
It is the work that needs to be done, its hard, but its worth it❤️

I’m so sorry that people made you feel that giving up your child for adoption was a bad thing! You gave your child life and a chance to be fully loved! That’s an incredibly loving gift: to want what is best for your child even if that’s not you! You had tremendous wisdom and courage- God Bless You! I hope one day you will be able to see that in yourself- I get it though it’s so hard!

You don't have to be perfect on keto. No one is. Just stay away from sugar and keep carbs as low as possible. I ate Atkins peanut butter cups and half slice of sourdough bread with olive oil until I was able to cut my cravings. That was my crutch. Every day, I had a half slice of sourdough. After a week, I didn't need that crutch anymore. Had to get used to the taste of dark chocolate (90%) over milk chocolate. If you have a bad day, tomorrow is a new one. Just keep working at it. My husband is doing the low carb thing with me. He had baked potato at Outback the other day. Considering he was a bread binger, one baked potatoe after 2 months is progress. It's a process.

I have been joking for a while that I do 'dirty, lazy keto'. Lost about 100 lbs, & reversed diabetes so I'm off insulin-- and I was post-menopausal when I did it, so that was a surprise because I'd been trying to lose weight for decades with other diets and the older I got, the harder it got. I buy cheap meats when they're on sale, I don't do grain-fed specialty meats, I just can't afford it. I look for sales of large cuts of cheap meat then bring them home and slice them up; my rule is I only buy red meat that comes to $6 per pound or less (was $5 till recent inflation). I supplement w/lots of chicken, fish, and pork-- also purchased in bulk on sales. I allow myself small servings of fruit every other day or so, once in a while I make low carb breads or chaffles or I grab a loaf from Aldis, and I'll have a slice of toast or a sandwich or make a toaster pizza out of them. I limit seed oils but I haven't completely given them up, I don't have the patience to make my own mayo on a consistent basis or shred my own cheeses so I just buy them. Screw it. I drink plain coffee w/a splash of cream 3-5 times a day but I have a coffee bar in my house (we are all coffee feinds) and I keep stocked with sugar free syrups for when I get a craving for a fancy coffee (once or twice a month or so, turns out, like a nice dessert after a good meal). I keep low carb protein bars for a quick meal if I get busy or crave chocolate. I am a huge dairy lover and make my own unsweetened cottage cheese & yogurt, for me it's like being able to enjoy some ice cream. I use veggies creatively too, only instead of 'forcing' them on myself like I used to I just use them to add a bit of variety to meals. I just stay away from potatoes and corn altogether and most others I enjoy from my garden in moderation with some butter, bacon grease, cheese, or non-starch cream sauces. Cauliflower rice & cauliflower mash have saved me because they satisfy my potato & rice addiction w/out triggering me. At holidays or parties, I do carefully take small servings of some carbs. I just stay away from the more serious trigger foods. I will also make more low-carb treats around holidays with added sweeteners and such that I don't usually have but are okay for a treat-- they're still 'lower carb'. I also go carnivore for a few days a couple times per month, and I started exercising more altogether, so it helps counter-balance the occasional indulgence. You don't have to be perfect, you have to be balanced.

I've been doing keto off and on for many years. At my heaviest--about 15 years ago--I weighed 292. Right now, I'm 210. For most of that time I found keto to be unsustainable because one cheat and I'd go off the rails. What I learned is that I'm a food addict. If I eat anything with sugar in it, it sends me into a binge. I can tolerate flour sometimes--like eating a tortilla wrap sandwich--but if it's sweet (even white or wheat bread) I go into a binge. I'm also diabetic, so I need to keep my glucose under control. I'm sharing this for those who may be thinking that cheating isn't really an option to them. My keto rule bending includes eating oatmeal (my favorite breakfast is oatmeal with blueberries and cottage cheese), small servings of non-keto fruit (apples, pineapple, grapes, etc.), and the occasional tortilla wrap. None of this puts me into a binge or spikes my blood sugars. I have also minimized processed foods. I've found a system that works for me, and I have been sustaining it for almost 3 months.

I took 2-3 years but I was post-menopausal and have some limited mobility so exercising was (is) limited. I wasn't rushing. I stopped focusing on an ultimate 'goal' and just focused on my blood sugar levels... if I lost 10 or 20 lbs I focused on just feeling better and being less than I was a few weeks ago. Sometimes weight would fall of fast and sometimes it would be a struggle. If it stalled for a while or struggled and I got discouraged, I eased up on myself-- I just made sure to maintain until I was ready to crack down again. When I did set up a goal it was more like, "Okay, I'm going to lose 10 more pounds"-- and even if it took 2 months, that was fine, it was still continuous progress. I had to keep reminding myself: next year (or on my birthday, or this summer, etc.) I may not be at my goal weight yet, but I will be a lower weight and that's good enough.

Combine ingriedients in a bowl 12 eggs 6 oz sausage cut up small 3 tbsp cream 1 cup cheese plus 1/4 sprinkled on top evenly 12 tsp psyllium powder optional Salt, pepper, thyme, and onion powder to taste. Poor into non stick or greased pan and bake for 18-25 minutes. Mine took 20 -25 depending on how full the cups where. Anyways these are good! I eat about 6 of them to make a meal. I always shoot for 30 grams of protein per meal or more. They reheat super well so make enough for the week and you are set. To me, taking charge of your own health and your own future and putting in the work is quite "body positive". Loving your body as it is, is body positive, and so is choosing to take care of it. Making changes to yourself to make life better for yourself does not go against being body positive. To be able to lose weight is a difficult journey. Even the people who have the means to spend hours exercising or who can hire a personal trainer or chef have it hard--it's just so, so much harder when you don't have those things, so it's very admirable to get there without such privileges.
