Bruce Dickinson: it's not hard to find a singer like him. He's basically a rock singer. compare sammy hagar with bruce dickinson and I think sammy wins. What about Axel rose? Also a huge rock vocalist. But Freddie mercury's voice is beautiful, esp in the 70s. his tone is unique and it doesn't matter about range, or power, or whatever category you want to list. The bottom line is, which voice is most pleasing to you? This is why Freddie wins because his voice is pleasing to listen to.

Its Like you ask me do i love more mom or dad? Maidens and Bruce are #1-2-3 in my heart Queen and Freddie are for me top 3 bands of all times. Too hard to say #1 with so many legends, but If he lived more, they would take #1 for sure.

Two amazing singers, each in his own category, with completely different styles. They shouldn't be compared in my opinion, as they achieved greatness in different musical genres. Dickinson is more versatile (able to cover well more styles), Mercury has a more unique/characteristic voice. Dickinson has a raspier voice, Mercury a softer one. Their highest notes are hit with totally different styles but they both get out of their normal signing voice: Dickinson screams, while Mercury turns even softer (Muse's Bellamy copies him in that). I wouldn't count either of these strategies in their vocal range. Having said that, as a huge Maiden fan, I have to state an unfair point between the two. Freddie's death prevented his voice and image from exposure to age-related degradation. With both singing very demanding vocals, Dickinson has been in gradual decline after 2011-2012. He always was less lyrical and less flexible than Mercury, but nowadays he struggles a lot to be decent at concerts. This does not change the fact that he is a legend, like Freddie, but I'm just stating the obvious. Still a more than capable singer, with way less flexibility and range compared to the past.

I think bruce is a better technical singer he can hit high notes that would give tenors trouble, and he was a baritone. Freddie has more power to his high notes, which makes sense cause he's a tenor.

Duuuuude if you haven’t seen the video titled “[HQ 480p] Judas Priest - Live In New York ‘91 (Best 1991 Show) [Full Concert]” you really need to check it out, the beginning of All Guns Blazing and end of Painkiller are peak Metal God viciousness! The vid looks like a crappy bootleg at first but it’s actually pretty well shot!

There are few singers who can sing the intro of the song "The Number of the Best". Even Mr. Dickson couldn't do it live.

Freddie Mercury wins. He was more versatile, more creative in the use of his voice, there is also more nuance and variation in his singing, his tone was more beautiful too. His mix and headvoice was better and again more beautiful. His vibrato was unmatched unique and recognizable. Dickinson is very powerful but too redundant.

I like Iron Maiden more than Queen, but there's no comparison, Freddie Mercury is far better vocalist than Bruce. Freddie sang very well many different styles of music. Dickinson is number one in Heavy Metal, in others styles I didn't see greats works.

I love heavy metal, Bruce is in the top 3 Heavy Metal vocalists. The greatest vocals in the existence of all music is Steve Perry.

I love Bruce, but in terms of versatility and magic in his voice, Freddie is unmatched, Mercury is capable of singing the Hitman, Gimme the Prize and something as opposite as cool cat or singing with Montserrat Caballe, it's hard for me to see him in Bruce
