good work bro!!
Thanks bro!! 💪
Thank you for your hard work! Your review has provided us with a lot of valuable insights and areas for improvement. We hope your channel continues to grow and thrive in the coming year!
Is it just as easy (or even possible) to change the weight in the cradle if there are less plates in the cradle than whatever the max weight you've purchased at is? I anticipate having to move my dumbbells around before and after workouts as I don't know yet where I'll store them nor have a personal space yet as a gym, which would make these a bit unwieldy
@@iSpeakstheTruth the cradle have adjustable end pieces, so you re rack it into those, so for me I have 85lb version, so even if I’m using 50lbs of that, the other 30Lbs worth of plates need to be in the cradle for me to re rack it… if that makes sense. The handle does have what I would consider handles on either side. So I keep mine on a wood plyo box, and take them off the plyo box one at time by grabbing the cradle handles which has 85lbs in them. Hope that helps.
Awesome thank you so much for the video
iv had my power block for over 1 year and i got them used they are older ones and they still work perfect and the guy i got them from was a animal so i know he used the crap out of them so i can say power blocks do hold up over the test of time and that makes power block worth it. i am thinking about getting the rep pepin i want a set to keep in my home gym and want to put one power block next to my computer and one in my living room to do sets when im watching tv and youtube. i love the power blocks because i know they last forever and as of right now i feel the repin and the power blocks are the 2 best pics if you want something that will last
I know that you do not have this anymore, but I was just curious are you able to do chest flys on this with the handles being so close together? Some people say it’s no problem and others say it’s a no go. I just was curious your opinion from someone that has actually owned it. Thank you !
@@dextert8 I made a UA-cam short if you want to check that out answering your question directly.but overall I would say it’s doable, if you have that exercises programmed or just want to do it. I found a lot of good ways to utilize the pulleys being so close together. I loved standing alternating rows. Hope that helps!
@@MarkPMaguire so sorry I missed that when scrolling through the shorts lol . That’s what I wanted to know. Really appreciate the help
Good review. A seller on Temu has this on sale for $301.00
How is it possible for a collar to switch between a 28mm bar and a 50mm bar? I'm guessing regular plates don't fit either so that's another purchase
Question: is it possible to remove the stupid gas powered stoppers so that the machine can go lower? Or are shiny metal stoppers fixed to the black frame that they are inserted in?
Edit: this company doesn't even have an instruction pdf on their website to review before purchase so I can't see if the stoppers are part of the frame: RED FLAG
I believe they are attached somehow to the gas shocks or what ever is assisted the movement are the arm adjustment. The V3 I would say is smoother and you can get more range of motion based of the seat adjustments going from incline, flat, decline.
Yes you can remove them, I have this machine and it's way better than v3. It has 400 lbs weight compacity vs ver 3 only has 300 lb. I also replaced the rubber part that holds the arms with horse stall mats and I get really deep rom now.
@@joekiat3519 i already went with plate dumbells and a seat for incline press instead of these sketchy machines. But I agree this machine looks better and more sturdy than the wobbly v3 (plus for v3, who tf cares about decline press we want incline baby)
@@wizzlet6821 Ver 2 is a beast, I'm about to upload a short of me using it.
You're probably lifting too heavy for your grip
I don’t lift that heavy, I have Versa grips to help minimize the need for grip and focus more on the contraction of the target muscle. Why do you say that?
I just realized this comment was not for me..
So mounting right to the studs is going to support the weight?. I just get nervous with that.
Ya I get nervous too, it’s the easiest assembly with the design of the support beam being in the way of one of the holes. But theoretically as long as you mount it to studs correctly, they will hold the weight 100%, as long as it is a stable structure. I sold this, because I ended up getting other equipment (I.e. squat rack) that had a pull up bar.
Obviously, we’d like them to have these issues corrected before they start sending out products to people, but at least they’re willing to go back and fix the mistakes or update the products
Ya it’s nice to see them striving for improvements while maintaining a budget option!
I had this and returned it because the bench was extremely wobbly. Is it fixed in the new version because I haven't seen you shake the bench? Also are you able to add washers to make the bench More stable? I currently have ver 2, it's been great and much more stable.
@@joekiat3519 ya I haven’t tried the additional washer thing. But the bench does wobble a little bit, I will take the wobble with the ability to have the flat/incline/decline. Version 2 was solid, I like the arm path and versatility of version 3 though. Glad it’s working out for you though!
@MarkPMaguire I also just noticed weight compacity on this one is only 300 lbs. Ver 2 is 400 lbs.
I was excited after reading the comment on your other video about a new part being added or some kind of change being made to make it more stable. Now I don't know how to feel haha. I have one on order, I just hope its less wobbly then your 1st review.
@@xplosive8882k3 ya like I mentioned in this review, I feel like just making sure every nut and bolt is tightened, along with all the knobs, the only real wobble in the bench is just because the depth is adjustable. As for the arms, the Allen wrench, make sure that is tightened good. And I’ve found in doing that, it does feel better.. hope that helps! Let me know how it works out!
Really loving the new R&D department!
Good to see a converging arm path on a budget chest press machine.
Ya I’ve always wanted to try the power tech multipress after seeing your videos! This seems like a good budget option
I have the Powerblock Pro 125/175 Commercial and I like them.
The new Bells of Steel Max airbike has multiple handles grips and offers magnetic resistance on top of the air. Also come with tough turf and a handle kit. It is more expensive than this, but they say it’s commercial grade and you can’t break it.
Had the version 2 and I felt like it was fine for me but too big for the wife and kids. It’s definitely solid and beefy. I don’t like that if you wanna buy the turf tires and the handle and the water bottle and the phone holder it’s a couple hundred dollars more where other companies have all that included
I used to train with kettlebells about 20 years ago at the time I used cast iron kettlebells I’m not sure if competition style kettlebells existed then or they weren’t that common. Got back into kettlebells recently I bought the Bowflex having limited space it’s a decent compromise but the shape isn’t ideal especially in the rack position and the handle is a little bit thin. I’m looking for a better competition style kettlebells this or the British equivalent does seem a better option plus with a little more weight too. Thanks for the good review
similar to powertec. Our employer built an extra office for us and bought all the equipment for a full gym.
How much was it?
It looks pretty solid that red pops, but I can’t remember if I got red or black
You’re a big Black & Red guy right? Either way, read the directions twice, I put the Smith uprights on backwards.. and something else as well… lol I’ll never learn. Good luck 🍀💪
Respect for building all this out for these videos. Does not seem like an easy process.
No, it’s not… I’m good for putting on at least one or two things backwards, and then having to redo it. It’s not fun, but I think I’m getting more efficient.
That red really pops
@@carps_gym it looked good on the M1, and it looks good on this Buffalo
Стоит наверно как 10 обычных скамеек🌚
Just checked, and the plate loaded version uses flimsier uprights - 2"x2" 14-gauge.
Solid Budget options
@@carps_gym ya I love that axle bar, would be interested in trying other trap bars though.
@ giant or Rep is where it’s at if you want a bigger one
Great review! I’m also 5’7”, but I have a pretty short inseam of about 24 inches. Do you have to set the seat to the lowest height, or are there still lower levels available when you use it? I’m asking because I might need to use a lower seat height due to my short legs.
@@swanhtet1 ushually it’s not down all the way, you should be able to find a comfortable seat position even with that inseam… I would think.
@ Thank you
I’m really wanting to get one, mainly because of the Smith machine. But I’m hesitant because I don’t know the quality. Could you squat 300 pounds on the Smith machine comfortably or is there a lot of rocking and movement to it? Would the smith machine last long with Heavy lifting every day?
@@CalebKeeton-u1i that’s a good questions, I don’t go that heavy, so at the weights I was using it was moving fine and honestly the quality of the smith machine and the sturdiness of the rack should be sufficient for what your pushing, even at the affordable price with the 14g steel.
how safe are the for dynamic/explosive exercises like snatches and cleans? I ask because I can see potential for accidentally hitting the selector pin out of place. I actually have read a couple comments on reddit forums people accidentally knocking open the selector pins. That's awful and a flawed design features - or at least limits its versatility and makes them severely overpriced for the amount of exercises you can do with them safely.

That's awful and a flawed design features - or at least limits its versatility and makes them severely overpriced for the amount of exercises you can do with them safely.
@@mikec5099 ya probably more strict movements are best with these. For example I like powerblocks for explosive movements like devil presses, cleans, and things of that nature.
@ straps and fat grip adapters be effectively usable on these?
Since talking with GMWD, they have informed me that they have optimized the base tube structure stating that they effectively addressed the wobbling problem. Tighten all bolts as well, and it should be more stable with new orders! And they will also send replacements for previous purchases if need be!! I can appreciate the transparency and companies willing to work on areas of improvement.
We need an updated video on that version!
Did your weight plates smell bad when they arrived?
No, honestly I liked those decagonal weight plates with the handles, reminded me of Irons Grip weight plates, the lettering just peels easily
I picked up Powerblock Sport EXP with the expansions up to 90lb brand new on Black Friday for $1100 less than it would have cost to order Rep / Pepins. That was just too much money saved to ignore. That being said, I don’t mind the blocky design so far but don’t really like the handle and don’t like that I can’t twist my hand into the grip to get a firm hold on it without my knuckles hitting the tubes for the 2.5lb weights. Other than that they seem very solid and I actually think they look pretty badass in my gym.
I had the sport 50’s, non expandable so they only went up to 50lbs. Otherwise I would’ve kept them, very nice looking and that silver metal material didn’t show much signs of wear and tear. I don’t mind the rubber ergonomic handle, but ya a draw back to the PB’s is it is hard to use like a Versa grip or straps. Hope they work out for you!
Thanks for comparing these two. I prefer PowerBlocks.
Fortunate to be able to have both in house, I really enjoy my Powerblocks, thought they needed a little comparison to the new kid on the block (rep x pepins).
Just found your channel. Good review. Just bought a bar and set of plates from Fringe. I’m also in NH. Good shit bro. Keep up the videos.
Live free or die! Thanks bro! They have some good products, the axle bar and open trap bar have been good so far, probably get the midas barbell to complete the lineup. Working on a video of my two speciality bars from them.
We don't know how long Rep X Pépin dbells will last ? Ironmaster or powerblocks dbells are proven dbells for many years.
This is indeed an unpopular opinion. Powerblocks are the worst feeling adjustables on the market.
@@benbarnett1076 oh ya, let me get your top 3?
@ Pepins/Reppins, Snodes, Ironmasters. IMs would be 1 or 2 if the changing mechanism was as quick as some of the others
@@benbarnett1076 ya I’ve always wanted to get some Iron Master equipment in my home gym. I was considering those dumbbells right when the Rep/Pepins dropped. I’m constantly changing between weights throughout my workout but they do seem great.
@ they feel great in use, but ultimately the change time convinced me to swap them out for other options.
Powerblock also like 60% of the cost of repxpepin. Huge advantage there. They just suck when you want to do a lift requiring holding the dumbell somewhere besides the handle, or if your grip has fatigued and you want to wear straps.
@@2GGop true, can’t really finagle my Versa grips in there! And things like goblet squat and skull crushers aren’t really feasible.
I got the pro 100 exp its good, felt really nice, just that the handle is a little bit too thick for my small hands especially when pulling, but it is superb for pushing movements. The box design sometimes works well because it kinda hits your forearm and acts like a secondary support for the weight especially when doing lateral raise.
@@ooijie9032 ya I know what you are talking about, I’ve used my forearm to support the bar when doing curls! Is that the knurled handle?
I have the original pepins they are my favourite piece of equipment in my home gym I don’t mind paying the heavier price used them for years now
@@aynrandfan7454 glad to hear it!
I bought this chest press from Amazon and I love this bench I get very little wiggle with the arms and also very little wiggle in bench my chest bench is stable I have 200 pounds hundred pounds on each arm no bad wiggle it feels great and really works the chest I feel the burn in my chest also I had a problem with a part the arm adjust pull knob to lock in the arm reached out to gmwd through Amazon and they sent the part out to me very fast. I have a garage gym and it fit in well thumbs 👍🏾 up for me love it. Tighten the bolts well.
@@blover8548 glad to hear it! 💪
powerbocks are much more bulky, not nearly as durable, dont go as heavy and dont have a lifetime warrenty
They are also harder to adjust. Hitting that pin is not simple. I constantly have to look at it on the side.
@@phiz118 powerblocks or rep Pepins? I would argue that the adjustment for powerblocks is more simple. The magnetic pin easily slides into position. For the Repins it is harder to visualize what wait you are on, and you have to do the pop pin on both sides, and you may glide the pop pin right past the weight you wanted.
@@rickydw9152 How durable do you require your exercise equipment? I don’t see my PB breaking anytime soon. Powerblocks have been around forever, it’s a solid choice for many people and facilities. The bulky nature, is the nature of the beast with some adjustable dumbbells, you get used to them just like anything else. But, then again, you aren’t wrong.
@@MarkPMaguiremakes sense. I have the power blocks. I can’t adjust them fast at all. Takes about 20 seconds between exercises. I don’t have a rack so they live on the floor. I have to kneel down, adjust, get back up and pick them up. I constantly have half a pin in one and the other half in another. The color rings also fall off over time.
I have the new Powerblock Pro 100 Exps. I was torn between PBs and the Reppins but I know I made the right choice. Having 100lb urethane coated dumbbells with knurled steel handles at home is amazing. These things are made for university and commercial gyms. They are the improved version of the Hammer Strength x Powerblock dumbbells.
