The variation on squats with a smith machine is incredible, lean into it, change up your foot placement, etc. The cable itself is only on a 1:1 pulley ration so there isn’t a ton of cable travel.. but you could always at a little chain to extend the cable travel for those particular exercises!
@ thanks for the response! Ideally would prefer the m1 power rack, but since I’m putting my home gym in a upstairs bedroom I have concerns about the weight load on the m1 so I figured this smith machine is the better option
@ 10 out of 10 the M1 updated with aluminum pulleys would be the ideal set-up. Even upstairs, if your home is well built I don’t think there would be an issue, but I’m no professional. I did a review on the M1 and it has the benefit of the Smith but a lot more improvements on top of that.
Are you testing my manhood… um a 45 and a 25 on both sides, the bar itself is only 15-20lbs so take that into an account. Feels rock solid, with additional weight plates on the weight horns and trolley for the lat pull down/low row. Expecially if you are squatting heavy I would add additional weight to stabilize machine.
I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing.. lol I gave the specs, some benefits for use, and my opinion on it. I wrote a script to help me stay on track so maybe that’s what you are feeling, I feel that alittle bit. But ya this is a budget smith machine with a high/low pulley in a compact design that fits great in my garage gym. That’s unfortunate it didn’t seem genuine to you. Looking to continue reviewing other gym equipment, hopefully you stick around.
Are you able to do cable leg workouts? Kickbacks, lateral kickbacks, leg curls etc.

I appreciate the support bro 🫡
Whats the most you've loaded on this for squats?

Doesn't seem like a genuine review, more like advertisement.
