Is it just as easy (or even possible) to change the weight in the cradle if there are less plates in the cradle than whatever the max weight you've purchased at is? I anticipate having to move my dumbbells around before and after workouts as I don't know yet where I'll store them nor have a personal space yet as a gym, which would make these a bit unwieldy
@@iSpeakstheTruth the cradle have adjustable end pieces, so you re rack it into those, so for me I have 85lb version, so even if I’m using 50lbs of that, the other 30Lbs worth of plates need to be in the cradle for me to re rack it… if that makes sense. The handle does have what I would consider handles on either side. So I keep mine on a wood plyo box, and take them off the plyo box one at time by grabbing the cradle handles which has 85lbs in them. Hope that helps.
how safe are the for dynamic/explosive exercises like snatches and cleans? I ask because I can see potential for accidentally hitting the selector pin out of place. I actually have read a couple comments on reddit forums people accidentally knocking open the selector pins. That's awful and a flawed design features - or at least limits its versatility and makes them severely overpriced for the amount of exercises you can do with them safely.
I haven’t tried any of the Nuobells or that similar style, but I did have a lot of success with my previous Powerblocks. These are great though! And you can’t sell your fixed dumbbells you just got that nice new rack!! lol
@@Maguiresgym Powerblocks are amazing, I recently sold my Powerblock Pro EXP with knurled handles, to get these.. but I have nothing bad to say about Powerblocks, in fact.. I loved the 2 tubes (that is for the adder weights), as I used them as extra handles that worked extremely well for so many exercises. Atm. I have the Rep Quickdraws as well and they also have two tubes at the bottom, but you can't really hold those, as they are way too slim to hold comfortably, but ye.. I'm waiting for Rep to release these in EU, so can't wait. Powerblocks are still really great though.
Great review. I also switched from PBs to Repins. They’re great but not perfect. PBs served me well and I will miss them after I sell them. Right now, having both pairs is pretty sweet
Ya I wouldn’t mind getting some Pro 50’s in house to see how they stack up against the Sports I had. Great product all around! Enjoy your full medal goodness with the REPINS, thanks for the comment!
Ours showed up looking terrible and REP took them back. Then on the replacements asked to use touch up paint as they couldn’t guarantee the set wouldn’t be marred out of the box. Going to wait it out and see how their quality control fares in the next 6 months.
Interesting, seemed well packaged when it arrived for me and others I’ve seen. The powder coat is bound to get scratched up but I don’t see how they can package them better.. delivery driver having bad day maybe?
@@MaguiresgymThey were packed well , actually one of the better packing jobs I have seen. And the boxes were intact on arrival. REP fessed up to quality control issues on the early batch. Support was easy to deal with, but I didn’t want to play the roulette exchange game at the moment. Replacements are also delayed as are their backfill of orders.
I would say Glucks Gym video on these does a good job at nailing the point home that there aren’t a lot of inner workings, I would say this will not be an issue and I’m not really concerned about this part breaking. It’s just getting used to adjusting with the mechanism that takes some getting used too. It’s arguably one of the more durable designs on the market.
I have the original pepin fast series they were like $2600 or so haha but well worth it…living in Canada did avoid custom feee but ya…the Rep ones look great too
I kind've mentioned a couple things throughout the video. Hard to find specific cons or things I would change. It is hard to get versa grips around the handle but doable. The cradle can cause the dumbbells to get stuck if adjusted correctly. It sometimes is hard to line up in exactly the right weight increment.
Solid video brother. Appreciate the down to earth style
I really appreciate that coming from you! I love watching your videos for that exact reason!! Can't wait to see when you get your Repins in house!
@ really appreciate that, thank you.

I had powerblocks many times and sets. These are the one things that might make me sale my full set of Dumbbells

PB pro exp 90 for 900 USD or reppins 105 for 1800 USD? These are the prices in my country
I have the Repins and I still miss my PB. You can’t go wrong with the PB Pros, I want to get another of the Pro 50’s just to have.
Hi Mark, are you interested in some all-in-one home gym package reviews.😀
I expected to get these dbells but i am concerned about the fiability of the pop pins system 🤔

The originals were made with love. And you support a smaller companies has a deeper value. Any interest in the kettlebell they have?

why the hate against nuobells?
no hate, I was being dramatic. I would love to try them honestly. There are so many good adjustable dumbbells out there.
@@Maguiresgym Got it. But yeah looks like you have to baby the Nuobells in order for them to last long. The Repins like you said are "durable" lol
