Bronze Age Era comic book podcast. Each Tuesday, Kevin Jank and I (Michael Dell) take a comedic look at a different comic from the 1970s or 80s, explaining the book's history and characters and discussing the careers of its creators.
The channel also features classic episodes of the LCS Hockey Radio Show and The Ed Show, two long-running audio podcasts I did with my pals Larry and The Ed. The LCS show covers hockey, TV, movies, conspiracies, and assorted nonsense, while The Ed Show chronicles the adventures of a crazy old man from Vegas.
If you enjoy the podcasts, please consider visiting One Nine Books (oneninebooks.com), a small independent press I run that specializes in mysteries. Flea Market Fantasy and LCS Hockey T-shirts are available at merch.oneninebooks.com.

Listening to the Vampirella stories is always fun, my mother never let me read the comics. A semi naked vampire woman with a shit ton of magic and otherworldly creatures? No, no, that's too immoral.
@@matheusalves5160 If Vampirella is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
Progs? Interesting. Your shows are ahead of their time; ) Should we call them epis instead of episodes to sound futuristic?
@@StudioGallup No. But thanks for asking!
Where in the world is Belladonna Sandiego. Lol. I've read a ton of Spider-Man comic, but I've never heard of Belladonna till one of the Here Comes the Spider-Cast episodes. Deborah great, but Peter does her dirty in the comics. Love Janks Hobgoblin back story. Spectacular episode, thank y'all.

Archie Weinstein lol! Hilarious episode guys. The only time I read some Archie comics is when a friend of my moved it to a new house and the previous owner left a box full of them in the shed. They were ok, but not my cup of tea.
@@MrSpyderman Yeah, there's nothing really "funny" or "interesting" about Archie, but I guess folks who grew up with it find it comforting. Like alcoholism.

Another shocktastic selection! You guys really bring these old comics back to life-Victor would be proud!
@@StudioGallup Jank is actually assembled from the parts of dead accountants and Taco Bell menu items.
The Phantom Stranger is a really strange character (no pun intended), such a cool design and crazy powers, extremely convoluted origins, limitless potential to make stories exploring themes like memory and purpose, but so heavily underutilized. Kinda like the Creeper yk, some issues here and there, totally forgotten, a complete reboot and then relegated to some appearances once again. I mean, to someone pretend to be a lunatic while fighting crime, this can definitely cost something in the man's sanity, but yeah no, let's make it like any other superhero comic story.
@@matheusalves5160 Wow, you sure know your Phantom Stranger! I've only read the one issue, and I kind of wish I knew less about him.
@@FleaMarketFantasy Totally get it, lol. Phantom Stranger is really far from being well written or having actual interesting stories, I'm in it for the idea, mostly

Mike Dell and Janks, this episode got a lot of views. Glad to see your show getting more attention. It's a great podcast. Please keep the episodes coming!
People love seeing how bad Superman is at baseball.
@@FleaMarketFantasy I remember reading a novel about Superman's lost years as a young man. He was trying to find himself and left home, rambling around like David Carradine's character in Kung Fu. I don't recall the title, but I thought he played for the minors for a bit in that book. Obviously, the author of that book did not read this comic.
@@StudioGallup He still would have been the best hitter on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Mike Dell, I'm sorry Janks won't marry you. But you have to understand that accountants have many enemies😁
He's a liar just like that bum Superman. Who should Lois Lane marry instead of Superman?
@@FleaMarketFantasy Who should Lois Lane Marry? Check out my Superman meets Regarding Henry storyline: After a brutal fight with Superman, Lex Luthor sustains a head injury that alters his personality, making him kind and compassionate, though still brilliant. In a remarkable redemption arc, Lex uses his intellect to fight crime and create a safer world, rendering Superman’s role nearly irrelevant. This infuriates Superman, who now finds himself sidelined from both crime-fighting and Lois Lane's bedroom. When Lois interviews the newly transformed Lex for the newspaper, she falls in love with him, driving Superman mad with jealousy. Consumed by rage, Superman goes on a violent rampage to eliminate Lex, but in doing so, he inadvertently kills innocent people. Lex, using his unmatched brilliance, finds a way to stop Superman. In the final scene, Superman sits, trapped in a Lex-designed kryptonite prison, watching Lex and Lois’s wedding on a small TV. Enraged, he punches the wall, only to break his wrist. He slumps to the floor, cradling his injured hand, shedding a tear for every time he avoided marrying Lois.

@@StudioGallup Holy hell. That's a Superman story I'd actually want to read. You should be a writer!
When you first introduced the impossible character, I didn't think I would like the comic. However, after I saw what they did with the character, I enjoyed it. I thought it was like a Where's Waldo puzzle. You had to figure out who the character was. That was fun. Good choice.
@@StudioGallup Do you do a lot of Where's Waldo puzzles? Because I guess in comparison to that, our show would be somewhat entertaining.
It's hard to find Where's Waldo puzzles. I pass the time between publications listening to Flea Market Fantasy😂

You cannot connect the dots on Freedom Fighters. Sometimes they're a part of Earth 1 History or they're on a completely different Earth (Earth X) where the Nazis won WWII. I never could make heads or tails about them. Also that was a horrible price for a Giant Size comic. 2 years before Giants were 100 pages for 60 cents. What's this one? 48-60 I bet.
