I sometimes get an aura, other times it's just triggered by bright lights and sudden noises in the shops. Combined with the stress of the stimulation and trying to stay present, it's just too much for my brain. I recently read that they believe serotonin plays a role in migraine atacks. Which makes sense for me, as I journal and keep track of my migraines. I see a pattern of having a migraine after getting really upset about something, having a meltdown and crying my eyes out.❤❤❤❤❤

If it is not with a group of people where you have no choice when. but with a close friend or family, go to the restaurant on off hours because it will be quieter. Look at the menu online so you can pre-decide before going, make sure you have a little snack before you go so that you are not starving while you wait (that is what causes me a meltdown), and before the food comes, expect the unexpected. I ordered something the other day expecting it to be a certain way and when it wasn't I wanted to cry, I mean start sobbing. I was so disappointed and sad and took a long time to wrap my head around it not being what I wanted. My family told me I always ruin going out somehow. I did eventually re-adjust to the meal being something other than what I expected, but by then everyone was in a bad mood. Sometimes I hide my feeling about it, but it feels like a storm.

I’m glad I’m not the only one they are horrible

Also it is so reassuring that you talk very similar to me in my video essays (not a youtuber, but do video essays from time to time if its the best way to explain something). I had been criticized for the way I speak, so its super reassuring that you do that too. Speaking kind of slowly and with many uhms. I wonder if its an autistic trait?

As someone who's autistic, I can relate to this, and I'm horrible when it comes to receiving presents either if it's birthdays or Christmas so I always have to play it cool because if I acted like a jerk then I knew my mom was gonna get on my butt. This one incident takes me back to when I was in 4th grade, we had our Christmas party on the last day before winter break, we did the gift exchange and I got like pretend makeup products and HATED IT to the point that I put it back in the bag and just turned the other way with my back facing the front and arms crossed and said something like "It's not what I wanted", I was expecting either something iCarly or Spongebob related because those were my special interests at the time and I'm a tomboy, but boy were my teachers MAAAAAD!!! Because of how I behaved, they "kicked me out of the party" (well I left class early every day because I took the special needs bus at that time) but I regretted my behavior that day. It's hard now as an adult because I love Seinfeld and Saved By The Bell like last year the day after Thanksgiving my parents sat me down in what I wanted for Christmas and my dad strictly said No Seinfeld or SBTB stuff for Christmas and I was stuck on what to suggest, afterwards when my dad noticed that I didn't have the Seinfeld Calendar I would get every year since 2020, he asked why I didn't get it then I told him the rule he made, that's when both my parents decided to ease up on me. They said whenever you get some money, you can buy yourself whatever you want because I'm an adult and it wouldn't be fair. So that's my story. Always remember that if you don't like the present, thank the person for the thought first, and don't be cruel about it.

I'm also autistic and I study two degrees (International Relations and Modern Languages) and I liked a lot your tips!! For the flashcards I actually started doing them on Anki, which another person already commented here. It's really useful and as you said it helps breaking down the subjects into little, manageable things to remember. I'll try to implement the other tips as well. Studying anywhere other than home seems nice too, because I need to start associating home with "calmness, relax, sleep" so I won't get crazy by the end of the semester.

I'm autistic too and I don't really like restaurants either their normally quite noisy with music and bright lights. The music in restaurants really distracting and overwhelming. Why can't restaurants become autism friendly by simply turning the music off or play relaxing music at low level, dim the lighting have comfortable seating, train the staff to become more understanding of autism. Like I went to a restaurant recently I was only in there 5 min because the music they were playing was very distracting me from concentrating on the menu. I the only pub I mostly go to is Wetherspoons because there is no music and no bright lights, so I can concentrate and relax more and not get overwhelmed. And the only restaurant I alright going to is cote brasserie because the music is relaxing and at low level so I could concentrate on reading the menu more than I do with other restaurants. I'm based in the UK so we have different restaurants to other countries. But at least I'm not alone. I'm not the only autistic person who don't like restaurants

Nice video! I would be glad to see more of the same format, I enjoyed it! And I think it's very nice that videos by autistic people expressing themselves in manners not common in neurotypical people have a place on the internet. Certainly it is a bummer to have a piece of media you can watch and enjoy with the comfort from having already watched it before and all of that and then losing it as you become aware of the harmful ideas embroided in it. And I would say BBT is a kinda remarcable case because of its effect on the public perception of autistic people. I myself have been compared to Sheldon Cooper in a mean way by neurotypical people close to me in the past and I know of other autistic people with the same experience

Because not everyone is going to listen to you. But if you speak without fear, more people will at least hear you and notice you and respect you. Even if they disagree

In regards to Aspergers being seen as better than autism. You make an excellent point. Firstly I apologize for the following: I feel This must be said as it is relevant and I need to get it off my chest. I was very pessimistic about my diagnosis (Aspergers) and I saw other people within the spectrum, and thought "Is this how they see me?" And I saw how they were treated and asked myself internally is that what they (neurotypical people) think of me?" And so I heard about how the diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome was at one point not included with Austism spectrum disorder. I was already feeling like a monster and an outcast because I was mistreated. My decision at the time was, in order to ease the pain of loneliness, see myself as superior to those on other parts of the autism spectrum. As I grew up I had many life lessons and this belief no longer has any basis, foundation, or meaning to me anymore. I no longer use it. And so when you said that Aspergers is viewed as being better than or less severe than other forms of autism, it spoke to a very specific spot of my heart. I'm grateful for this. Yes, I don't have Aspergers Syndrome..... I Have Autism!

Very interesting video, I enjoyed it a lot! I have never been introduced into horsemanship and don't feel particulary keen on trying it but I always had contact with horses and donkeys and mules in my hometown and I got what you meant about enjoying their company instead of planning to do certain exercises with them. I think that this is indeed a topic pretty related to autism: I know that i learned a lot of kinda similar valuable things through the years observing animals like cats, and my father is autistic too and he always said he felt a special connection to horses and learned things about them. I enjoy your videos a lot, hope you upload more of them some day <3

My hair is nearly waist length, and this is the kind of hair video I’ve been needing. Most hairstyle videos aren’t too concerned about the way single hair strands can effect your entire nervous system, and the nightmare that is hair touching the back of your neck. So I really appreciate this, and I’m so glad there’s at least one person out there who felt like making this video.

i can imagine that being very helpful but i think my voice is not accent free enough to use it, it doesnt interpret a lot of words correctly for me, and correcting everything afterwards is more work for me than just writing it from the start. in a similar way though, i recently discovered that i find audio description in films very helpful, because it tells you things like: ‚he looks thoughtful‘ which i wouldn‘t know otherwise, and it makes understanding whats going on a lot easier.
