- On this outdoor hiking adventure, I am doing my favorite trail in Mammoth Lakes, California! The Duck Pass Trail is a lovely hike that takes you to many stunning lakes. On this day, I did the Duck Pass Trail to Pika Lake. This hike is labeled as hard at 10.6 miles round-trip and 2,152 feet of elevation gain! I will be passing a total of 6 lakes! My favorite part of the hike is when I go over Duck Pass, and get amazing views of the first 4 lakes I just passed from above! This is a hike you won't regret doing even with all the hard work involved.

Looked a chilly start but great trail and 5 lakes, wow that was a bonus and even better when you found out there were actually 6 lakes. Loved to colours in the trees and the fact you have also joined the 4K club too. Bit of a rocky climb up to Duck Pass and slippery rocks on the way to Pika Lake, super clear water there too. Yeah, they were 6 beautiful lakes at that! It was a bit of a challenging hike, but as you can see, it's worth every drop of sweat!! I am very happy to finally make it to the 4k club! It took a long time and a lot of work to finally get here. But I have always loved every minute of it! Thank you so much, Alan!!

Wow, quite cool for an August morning. I expected it to be warmer than that during August. The lake views here are quite epic, aren't they?! Landscape shifts a lot during this hike. Really helps keep things exciting. Duck lake is spectacular!

I did this one last year with the intention of spending the night at Pika Lake. The area was too smoky from a prescribed fire, so we just went to the top of Duck Pass and turned around. Went back in the a couple days later to Woods lake, beautiful little lake.

amazing the colors of the water in the lakes, nice you were able to get to Pika Lake this time (rugged looking trail to Duck and then down to Pika, not for everyone) good hiking vid and catching up on yours

I was trying to look up the elevation, but unfortunately, it's not on AllTrails. I only see the hike to Pika Lake. It's still gonna be a hard hike, but it's definitely not as hard as going to Pika. Wish I could have been of more help.
