Jeez that's tame. Give it some wellie !
No wonder they had to replace shoes after each dance!
La volta provençal
La musique est jouée de telle façon qu'au départ j'ai eu du mal à retrouver la mélodie. Je ne connaissais pas cette version du branle des sabots, il est possible que ça ait pu se danser comme ça (à confirmer).
Wonderful!
Don Juan de Austria on the deck of the Real taunting the Turks just before the battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571, as the fifes struck up a lively tune and the sea became like glass, and as the Venetian floating fortresses were towed forward into battle formation.
❤
They really said "hands and arms are not for dancing"
This was such fun to dance!
Il est important de préciser que le titre de la vidéo n'est pas conjugué à l'impératif présent
Trop chébran votre parquet!!
Learned this dance years ago, we added to the fun. Those who were in the Sealed Knot will know what I mean. Took me back watching this.
Oh, wow, the acting in this one is hilarious, thank you :D
Years ago in the SCA we called this dance "fling a wench" LOL
I know its been a long time since you posted these but I wanted to say how I appreciate htem for memnotic purposes when I forget a part or see a different interpretation.

Fantastic achievement!
Thank you!
👏👏👏
Apparently Queen Elizabeth I was still performing this dance regularly well into her 50s at least.
Wonderful
Thank you
Historical dances? You can count me suscribed from now.
Так вот откуда японцы взяли музыку для фэнтези исекаев😊
We're looking forward to trying some of the Gresley dances. Thank you for uploading this one!
Enjoy! you'll find a number of the Gresley dances in this video on our channel. ua-cam.com/video/z27mOmWboro/v-deo.html Thank you again for watching! it is much appreciated!
@@historicaldance 🙂
hm, naja unsaubere Schritte, oft Wechselschritte. Schlechte Pause in der Pause. Kein Rechs/Linkswechel in den Strophen. Ich glaube ich bin zu kleinlich. Schön den Libeus mal in nem Video zu sehen.
Thank you for your response and for taking the time to watch the video. This was performed in difficult conditions - high wind (hence the music has been overlaid) and on uneven grass. Not a perfect performance but at least it is there to be seen.
Beautiful!
Love the variation of the basis step with the little entre-chats! ❤
Delightful!
Thank you!
Intriguing! 🙂
I love your "passamezzo," although I don't know how "modern" it is, lol. BTW, your bows are perfect!
What the hell am i doing here ??
I love this dance! I performed it in the good old days when I was at uni.
Stupenda!!!!
So graceful 🙂
Thank you!
It looks wonderful!
It was! Thank you!
Thank you for keeping this wonderful dance and music alive.
Our pleasure!
Ah, the "washerwomen" branle! This looks like so much fun. Thank you for sharing this.
You are so welcome!

was here from bjork lol
This was just lovely - thank you. This channel has become a daily part of our homeschool morning time, and we are learning so much. Thank you! Keep up the awesome work!!
That is a very nice compliment. Thank you, Diana. One of the marvellous things about working on eighteenth-century dance, indeed, all historical dance, is that it requires you to forget the stresses and strains of today's world and immerse yourself in a social activity enjoyed throughout history at Court, in the Country House, and the Assembly Room. As far as our video is concerned, the choreographic shapes and figures were shown to their best advantage through having an excellent camera position.
You are so welcome!

A nice simple dance I learned at university Renaissance Dance club! As usual, far more women than men…😉
So true!

Lovely photos and music! They don't show all the hard work of classes and preparation, but they do show the fun and elegance of the result. I was there for the short course (first weekend only) and learnt a lot from my patient tutor and supportive fellow-students.
I danced this at uni, many years ago, a simple dance but lovely. The finger wagging is fun! I see the person being wagged at turns her head as if saying, “Well! The nerve of you!” as we did.
I’m l learning a part of this dance for a Shakespeare show I’m in. I’m going to cry Becuase how does one move their legs like that and not fall on their ass?
This was absolutely wonderful - thank you. Our children loved it!
Our pleasure!
Best video on UA-cam
Awesome - thanks so much.
