Well I bought the car used back in july. I havent done the oil yet nor do I know when the last oil change was done. I did watch thr reset videos and it didnt clear which tells me that the warning is light is accurate
Hey Eddie! New subscriber here. I recently bought a 23' IS 350 last month! It was a tough choice between a 20' GS 350 and the new 21+ IS 350s, but went with the IS. Anyways, I saw Lexus made an F-Sport intake filter (Part # PTR0353141AA). Do you think these will be a decent second option since it is OEM? Those will fit my car and i'm sure theres a version for the GS as well. I already bought it and it is arriving tomorrow. I've seen those other videos comparing intake filters, and the graph in your video was in regards to K&N. Only reason I bought it is because it is made by Lexus and that part will fit my intake as well. Interesting you mentioned the ECO mode for climate controls. I never noticed that until now in my car. Going to swap to ECO and see how well that works. Hopefully I dont notice a difference haha. Btw, i've seen a bunch of your videos and from I recall I dont think you have any LED door projector puddle lights. It is a very cheap mod and will project the lexus or fsport logo on the ground when you open the door. Might be something you'd be interested in and possibly even make a vid out of? I recently bought the V3 on lexusacc.com with the Lexus logo, looks just like the OEM lights lexus puts in some of their newer lines.
Ahhh bro! What's funny is I was about to make a vid on it!!! I was going to compare the F Sport filter vs the OEM and see how good it filters. I backed out cause I was like man, I don't feel like spending $200 on filters. I had the F Sport Intake/Filter on my IS 350, the filter in the vid was the one I had on my IS. When I used Mobil 1 I did start burning a little bit of oil but when I switched to Penz it stopped, so I think the filter worked pretty good. I had my F Sport intake for like 50k miles before i sold my IS. Honestly if you live in an area like florida that has very little dirt/particles. I'd run it no probs. And ahh thanks bro! I've been tempted to get some, I'll look into it!
@@EddieGS350 Thanks for the reply!! Question. Do you think the F sport intake filter was the cause of your car burning a little bit of oil in the IS? Sorry I'm not that smart with how the mechanics of a car works haha Also side note. How are your WELL visors holding up? Have you noticed any fading esp on the chrome part?? Reason why I ask is because I dont have window visors yet, but i've had some in the past on other vehicles and the chrome started peeling and fading it looked horrible after a couple years. BTW the ones i had in the past were not the WELL visors. Curious to see how yours has held up over time.
Hey Eddie, what does it mean when your dash says “maintenance required soon”? No check engine lights are currently on, how is my car predicting there will be an impending problem? 😅
Yooo Zach. Ah you got nothing to worry about. The cars are just set to give that light every 5k miles. If you did your oil change already you can reset it. Look up how to reset the light by year. The 2013-2015 have a different procedure than 2016+

Ooh if it has all the maint history (check carfax and the lexus owner website), the interior and exterior are in good condition. Tires are good. It is the exact color and spec you want. I'd have no issues paying that much. I'd be okay paying a little more and not having to deal with headaches down the road. I love the car but I don't drove it anymore cause my brain is always concerned about what could go wrong instead of enjoying the car... it's really sad. On the other hand I drive my throw away Honda everyday and I enjoy it and more than my garage queen LS cause I don't care what happens to the Honda. Every day I'm reminded that it's time to sell the car and the only reason I haven't sold is because it's the last of the NA V8's, can't stomach the thought of a V6 cause I've always bought LS.

It’s time to enjoy your car. I had the same thoughts 5 years ago when I got my 2007 LS460. It’s sad to admit it’s time, but I’ll still keep it around after my next new car. Currently have the IS350 AWD on my shortlist. I live in mn and I’d like to have awd for winter driving.
Ooh you'll love the IS for sure. I wish I kept my beater too, just keep running it to the ground. My old ES300 had 290k miles and I thought it was too old. It ran great, I should've kept it.
The best oil for Lexus is is Royal Purple 💜
why’s that? and do they have 0w-20
@@arjvnv better MPG and gives slightly more horsepower. And yes they do have 0w-20 that’s what I used on my IS250 and the engine loves it!
@@Unknownuser12356 sounds good 👌🏽. are all their oil full synthetic i’m assuming. it says synthetic blend so i’m hoping it is.
my walmart’s running a deal 5 quarts for $37 think i’ll go pick that up today for my next oil change then !
Ohh man next summer I might run a batch of RP! SoCal has been hot, want the best oil for it lol.
I used to use pennzoil ultra platinum. I have a 2013 gs350 fsport full bolt ones tuned. I’m currently running motul power 8100. U can’t go wrong with pennzoil the best budget friendly oil u can buy imo.
Ooh what tune you got? I've low key been tempted. I'm hoping light weight wheels will be enough for me tho!
Rr racing tune. I had co worker that had a bolt on tuned 335i I was trying to keep up with that was my motivation to go fbo lol. I had an 08 gs350 as well and for some reason stock for stock it felt faster than the 13 that was another reason.
Great video. Have you tried Liquimoly Leichtlauf Hightec 5w40?
Oooh I’ve heard of it. I know a lot of mustang owners were putting it in their cars to quiet the bbq tick. Never heard of that specific product but I’ll look into it. Thank you for sharing.
@ yes give it a try and let us know your feedback. I’ve been using it for a decade. I sometimes use Total Quartz 9000 if Moly isn’t available. So far so good too.
I own a solara with a 1mz-fe w/ approx. 275k on it. Have run valvoline, super tech, and pen. platinum high mileage. The motor runs so quiet on the Pennzoil you can hear the air being disturbed by the accessory belts. Definitely not an anomaly that you're getting reduced noise.
Ohhh man, I once said that on a forum and people said I was crazy and making things up in my head lol. I'm just happy they sell it at a decent price at Walmart lol.
@@EddieGS350 Saw a guy silence a Subaru using SuperTech once. Decided to give it a go in my Toyota and it made things louder. Sometimes engine-oil match means more than the brand's overall performance. Forum bros will be skeptical, but the results are what they are.
@@Patriot768 naw man. I totally understand. Supertech is a good oil. It’s a Warren branded oil and Walmart sells it a good price. Get 99% of the performance at a decent price. I saw project farms vid on it, he signed off on it as a good oil.
I own the 2018 GS 350 RWD model. I only use Shell gas and Pennzoil oil change every 3,000 miles.
Yep you are covered Rod lol. On our way to 500k miles on our GS. Prob give it to our grandkids lmao.
Nice video brother!🙌🏼
yooo Damian, appreciate it like always. Got your hooters vid playing on the TV rn lol.
Awesome advice! I’ve been using Pennzoil for my Lexus as well!! Ironically, I get it from Walmart too 🤣, but i’ll use your affiliate link for my next oil change! Also, those Key Fobs are dope, bro 🔥.
ahh naw man, for sure get it at Wally world lol. Here in SoCal they sell it for $29 the 5 qt. Did you see any broken suspension in the vid? :P
I use Kirkland oil and use chevron gas my car is on stock suspension at the moment but I just to drive a lowered ls400 so the switch was so different but I still avoid pot holes and slow down on speed bumps i don’t know why maybe I was just used to it for so long
Ohh man. Yeah your suspension will be mint. So many people just hit them myself included. The Kirkland is a good oil for sure. I saw it on Project Farm. And tbh as long as you are changing it every 5k it’ll be good.
Almost 2 years with my 2013 GS350. Have put about 20,000KM on it and car has 120,000ish KM on it. Oil change every 8000KM and only use Motul 8100 5W30. Have never needed topping up yet. My part of the woods only sell 95RON or 97RON but i mostly run 95 for daily duty. One of the fuel pressure sensor on the intake manifold near the firewall died a while ago and got changed. Other than that nothing major for these 2 years of ownership.
Ahh damn. First time I heard about that sensor going out! Glad it’s been running good other than that! You up in Canada? Got all the good measurements.
@@EddieGS350 somewhere in Malaysia🤣.
2013 with only 120,000 km on it? wow .I have a 2013 gs 350 with 370,000km on it.
looking forward to the site bro
Yooo! Gonna launch sometime this week, want to make sure everything is good before I launch!
I had a 4th Gen GS until it got flooded. its the best daily driver for a car guy. the suspension, insulation, steering feel is better than the German cars of the same size from the past 10 years. I wouldn't stress over much if you drive a GS. Change the oil with any synthetic from Walmart. Parts are cheap. Its literally the most mindless luxury car ownership one can ask for.
Damn sorry to hear! What did you end up getting to replace it? It’d be hard to find another car to replace it.
@@EddieGS350 I bought a 2020 C63. Completely different car, I know.
def some good info in here.
yoo Ph0 thanks for watching! I don't think you learned anything new, you're a lexus master yourself lol.
I have rsr super down and have had them for years
Ahh hopefully it’s after your shocks blew lol. How you like the ride? It actually relates to your last comment.
anyone know of an CarPlay adapter that will work on a 2013 gs 350? instead of having total apart the dash and install a new system or whatever? is it even possible
bro, no way like i know exactly where youre at for most of these videos holy shit i did not expect this. small world lol
Yoo man. Ahh man. You prob recognize everything on other vids lol 😁
Those Key covers look sick ! when are you gonna sell them?
Yoo Crashy! Gonna launch the store sometime this week, want to make sure everything is good before I start shipping :)
My gs run on water 75% of the time and Mopar coolants, I don't change the oil, and I'm not to picky about the gas although I try to use premium for the most part the Trans and diff fluid haven't been changed in forever and still running strong at 300k, I know I should maintain it better, but that aside it's been holding up pretty good.
lol I’d say keep doing what you are doing 😂 300k is nothing to scoff at. Hope it keeps treating you good.
Well I bought the car used back in july. I havent done the oil yet nor do I know when the last oil change was done. I did watch thr reset videos and it didnt clear which tells me that the warning is light is accurate
Ahh yeah. Just pull the dipstick if it looks dirty change it. Welcome to the family, hope you make a lot of memories with the GS 😁
Sorry I'm not that smart with how the mechanics of a car works haha
Also side note.
Great vid. Thnks
yoo thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it.
The 2013-2015 have a different procedure than 2016+
My bad Eddie, looks like I left a comment to another video under your lexus tutorial. Dont know how that happened. My question was ginuinely about the maintenance light
@@zachalexander1of1 haha no worries at all. I figured 😁
Me and both need some wheels...we got thr same spec gs
I just got wheels. Vid is dropping soon 😁😁 but now I kinda what more low. Idk if I can swing it for a dd.
What wheels are those?
Yoo, thanks for watching. These are the stock f sport wheels for 2016-2020 models. I actually bought wheels for the car, gonna upload that soon 😁😁
@@EddieGS350 gotcha, I have a 2014 gs f sport and thought your wheels looked nice lol. I'll be waiting for that vid!
Easy 500k engine
Ahh yeah! I think w/ all these tips I wonder if I can be one of those famous "million mile GS"
@@EddieGS350 I think we are in a new era where people rather not spend a few hundred dollars for preventative maintenance. But i’m sure you will hit 500k 👍🏽.
Great video man!
Currently in the market for a 2016+ gs350 f sport. Found one near me, a 2017 with ~95,000 miles for $24,777. Test drove it and drives great, engine and other components look good. What do you think about the price and the amount of miles? Do you think it will be reliable or should I keep looking around for a better deal/lower mileage? Thank man, keep it up!
Ooh if it has all the maint history (check carfax and the lexus owner website), the interior and exterior are in good condition. Tires are good. It is the exact color and spec you want. I'd have no issues paying that much. I'd be okay paying a little more and not having to deal with headaches down the road.
The Tacoma also uses the 2GR FKS, and a few people have hit 400k on those for work. I wouldn't sweat 90k miles if it ticked all the boxes above, but only if everything above is good lol.
@@EddieGS350 Thank you so much bro! I'll let you know if I end up getting it or another one.
Quick question, what gas type do you recommend? I'm from Canada and we have 87,89,91
Lots of people just put 87 shell in there Lexus.
Ahh for most Lexus other than the ES. You deff got to run 91. 87 will get you bit if you push the car hard it can knock which is bad for the engine. Which car you got?
Hey sorry about the late reply, looking to get a 2016 gs350 f sport and have been watching your videos. Great videos btw.
Do you use discord or any other form of communication?
I've owned my 2014 LS460 F-sport since 2016 and I have done so much preventative mentenance (by dealer and independant shops) and it'S not cheap car to own.
Ahh you'll be fine. I know the lower control arms are a weakpoint on those but if you aren't the type of guy who plows through speedbumps they'll be fine. Nice, you got a DD, my GS takes all the beatings lol.
@@EddieGS350 I replaced all 8 OEM earlier in the year and it MF'ing sucked!!! I also knocked out the valley plate leak, that one had me on edge because the indy shop told me about cracking injectors. Those are the last big ticket items I'm willing to pay for, anything else and I'm folding!
Even the ISF Lexus has the same issue with the valley plate 2008 to 2014 . Used this pink looking gasket seal and it leaked from what I have heard still waiting for it to happen on mine.
The ONLY way to sort out that VP leak is to go in and do the surgery, if you can do it yourself, I tip my hat to you. It’s not a cheap job to do. I was sick to my stomach when I saw what it looked like.
It’s time to enjoy your car. I had the same thoughts 5 years ago when I got my 2007 LS460. Watching all these videos about what could go wrong with the car made me sick to my stomach, thinking I’d just gotten myself into a money pit. However, after 5 years and 50K miles, the car still runs like a champ. I replaced the upper and lower control arms myself-not a bad job-and saved 5K. The car now has 315K miles on it. I’ll keep it until it either doesn’t run anymore or the repairs cost 40% or more of the car’s value. How many miles on your LS460 ?
Did you put spacers on your factory rims or are they factory fitment
Yoo Lee, thanks for watching! Ahh no spacers. Imma get roasted for having this opinion but I love the stock tucked look 😁
What year is this gs350?
Yoo Mark, it is a 2017 F Sport!
Now that's a good gas😊😅😊 choice
Yooo Bobby. Thanks for watching. It’s been good to me, just expensive.
🔥
yoo Dorian, thank you for watching!
15 GS don't care about costco gas, runs the same 😂
Ahh you are lucky, your car doesn't have the picky fuel pump. The 16-17 models are prone to the chirps. Tbh there are times when I fill up with Costco cause im cheap lol. There are times I get the chirps and there are times I don't but with Chevron I never chirp.
Just buy Lexus’s oil 😂
aww man the dealer charges an arm and leg for it lol. The penz got some good data behind it and ofc I can get it pretty cheap at wally world lol.
From my experience Shell, BP, and Exxon seem to be the best on my vehicles while Sunoco and any convenience store no name gas seems to be the worst.
Yeah shell has been good. I use it in a pinch. Your GS will last you a long time :)
I go back and forth with Chevron and Costco. For some reason chevron gas last longer and I get better MPG. Great informative video for any GS owner.🫡
Yoo Fonzi, I gotta ask since you are local lol. Which Costco you go to? Azusa or Rowland? I do go to the Costco usually Azusa, here and there cause Im cheap but it makes me chirp sometimes. I got the years with the bad fuel pumps lol.
@@EddieGS350 I actually live in San Bernardino at the moment but I do agree with you chevron does make a difference compared to cheaper Costco gas.
