Not for the Wilderness trim! Just installed the hitch and Fascia panel p/n "L101SAN620" it's a different cut out Template than other trim packages!! My advise, leave a bit more rather than less plastic on the bumper skirt! You can always trim away a bit more if needed, don't cut yourself short when drilling for the plastic pop in fasteners, you need a fair amount of lip around the drilled holes or they may split if to thin. You can download the PDF instructions for this and the hitch from the Subaru websites since there's NO instructions in either Box's. And YES you need to pull the spare out of you want to manage the wire harness, fuse and control box. I have another "24" outback wilderness to put a hitch on as well and my "23" Wilderness was the guinea pig, I learned a lot , and this video was extremely helpful, it is just different for the Wilderness trim. I turn it off. Per Subaru dealer, sun flare in the cameras or a plastic bag blowing in front of the car can cause hard emergency braking! If that happens on a fast freeway, you could easily get rear-ended. If you immediately give it more gas, it does release the braking.

Just successfully installed my hitch on my 23 limited using this video as reference. I'm a pretty handy person generally and have all the tools needed and found this job to talk about 3-4 hours with small breaks and rewatching the video to make sure I'm doing it right. If you feel that you are a mechanically inclined person I would say you will also not have much of an issue installing this hitch. Take plenty of photos along the way to make sure you install everything back the way it was. I believe I had a defect with the alighment on of the bars supporting the hitch which made a few screws tough to go in so having a large ratchet was very helpful there to apply a lot of torque. There truly wasn't much else I could do to alight all the parts and have the screws go in easily. The next struggle was reinstalling the bumper. I realized that I had the wheel fenders overlapping the bumper incorrectly after referencing the old photos I took so I fixed it easily. The last struggle was cutting the bumper. I was trying to use a new sharp carpenter knife and that worked well for some spots. Towards the end I realized using a Jigsaw was the way to go and it worked better than anything. I used a shallow tooth blade so it came out smooth and looks natural with the car.

you can open the break fluid cap under the hood to release pressure on the caliper piston.

Sounds safe I would just use other people's kids to test it out

Heat gun!! The locktite starts to soften with a good amount of heat, be careful because it will be hot to the touch!!! But yeah, I hit it with some decent heat and it softened right up and managed to get it off

Just did this on a 2024 outback. Wouldn’t have tried it without the video. Appreciate the view of the adjustment fangs and the painters tape on the garage door (my 9 year old supervised the movement). On the road daily at 5am for a hospital shift. Drive through lots of corn fields and an industrial intersection with lots of semis. Been getting flashed multiple times daily by angry farmers and truckers. Not anymore! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Do you know if the cables are visible from the driver’s side of the car? I just had a dealership install these, but I can see the cables inside of the mirror’s housing. Specifically on the right side of the mirror on the driver side (opposite to the greeting light). Just wondering if this is expected or if should head back and ask for a cleaner install.

Are the components needed to make it sense light and change state all built into the mirror and its own PCB? Do cars without this function have all the reuiqred hardware, i.e power to power them with just the power connector?

I know this is an old video but did your shock not come with a fluid reservoir? And if so, where did you mount it?

I've had the same bad ends on a CB650R and seem to do almost nothing, specially on right hand. At 4000-5000 rpm it's vibey (as most CB650)

Can you post a list of all the parts on eTrailer that you purchased to complete the installation?

I get flashed all the time at night by angry drivers, and I didn’t know why. Finally assumed that the headlights of my 2024 Outback Limited XT were aimed too high from the factory. So I took it to Subaru, and the service person let me drive it right into the receiving bay in front of the check-in counter. I thought, “Yay! He’s gonna rectify my situation!” But nope! He took a measuring tape and extended it about 10 ft in front of the car and noted where the beams hit. He said, “Your headlights appear to be perfect.” And sent me on my way. But the angry drivers at night sure don’t think they’re set perfectly, as they continue to flash their high beams at me. So I’m going to Lowe’s today and will pick up a 10” #2 Philips screwdriver (If 8” is okay, then 10” should make the adjustment easier 😉). Thank you so much for this!

This is a deal breaker for me. I am looking into getting a Subaru Crosstrek for my son and he already drives too close and too fast when I can is turning right and I can see him having serious issues with this Eyesight Braking. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Hi Sir , may I ask about TDC.When the “T” mark point the notch , and camshaft spocket show IN/EX facing outward its mean that is a TDC? Because I wanna remove the camshaft

The only gun video on YT that actually clears and does safety precautions ! 👍👍 One thing I'd add would be at 0:19 looking up through the empty mag well to see daylight through the ejection port and also putting a finger into the chamber too feel for a non-ejected case.

I popped the grill/bumper assembly and removed the headlight assembly. No problem changing the bulb then, you can bet. Bolt and snap it back together. Whole job takes an hour; no contortions, no agony, no swearing. Buy yourself some replacement "rivet" clips when you get the bulbs, you'll be glad you did.

$170?? That's steep for plastic bits. I ordered an eBay version for $65, and it looks exactly like this one. I covered the tabs that hold it to the seat with the felt side of velcro fasteners and sanded smooth any rough edges to prevent marring of the seat. Looks good to me.
