12” total wall thickness…when money is no issue…at Martha’s Vineyard.
undulations... it looks to me they carved it from a tree...
Steve, I have been trying to find some info on blocking open trusses below a parallel load bearing wall on the sub floor above. Used to wood on 16 centers, not hard to add support, block- but these are trusses on 19.2 centers. Can't see not providing some support under the sub floor to the trusses. Advice?
Did you flag the return air in the bathroom pods as a code violation?
You're an architect and you didn't flag that violation IMMEDIATELY?
You should never put a return in a bathroom. It's against code in a lot of places. That is not an approved exhaust method.
This is exactly why new construction just isnt fucking worth it.
no vent on the toilet drain🤷♂️🤦♂️
Should not have a return hit in the bathroom. Supply and exhaust only
Ya, it would be nice to know where U are on top of the world!?!
Nice! -On top of the world where?
Как красиво 😍
No way a mouse could get in there. It's a completely sealed system. Mice can't scamper across the ceiling, which they would have to do in order to enter a vent.
man did not start moving stone around before after the younger dryas... glacial till is why we see all them stones placed all over the places.... nature did it.... you people want to see architecture go see gobekli tepe.... i'm pretty certain those people understood cellular division and evolution because they told me so....
Being in there and not to try to scream to get an echo it's a shame
what is the tv screen used ? what brand ?
My fathers, father turned a smaller silo into a house after their house was flattened in a tornado.
Gotta love a grass and sod roof!! 😂
Very neat! Where is this building?
Norway

Wow! It’s almost like a cathedral. Where is it??

modular thinking is similar to a dictionary....
man... that is gorgeous
don't go to Japan or you will have to squat to poo.... toilet wonders of the world...
that's cool... you can see where the smoke is coming from...
Imagine the updraft! Better than a chimney 😱
I thought it was a pencil drawing at first, I was waiting for an A-ha music video to break out
You might as well have a stripper pole and have everyone jump off
I’d just curl up into a ball and roll down that shit tbh
HUGE tripping hazard.
These Stairs are not recommended for anyone who’s had few.
Theres no way that holds a buildings worth of people...
Depends on the building... we don't have enough info from the clip here...
Its a rotisserie.
😂😂😂
Makes sense. They probably have the best times during fire drills.
Is that still code? I'm guessing not?.
Depends on the building and use... we don't have enough info from the clip here...
What system did you use for air exchange, did you replace the roof too and did you have to change the attic from vented to conditioned with an insulated roof?
Hi Steve! Can you do a couple of videos on exterior siding and trim details that don't need caulk (either with or without exterior insulation like mineral wool or rigid)? I've heard repeatedly that caulk between window and door trim and the siding is the first thing to fail on an exterior so there must be ways to install everything without needing caulk and still protect the building's exterior from water intrusion.
Hi Steve - I love your videos and really appreciate you sharing all this knowledge with the world. Would it be advisable to use the extended sill plate to cover up a non-integrated foam or comfortboard insulation versus Zip-R? I was wondering if you have an insulation that is not bonded to the Zip like Zip-R and water got behind the insulation board (to the Zip) would it get stuck at the bottom plate and not be able to dry? Is that something I should be concerned about? For Zip-R it is integrated and I am guessing the drainage is no issue. I'd love to use this detail but wanted to make sure I didn't cause a different issue by using it in a slightly different way.
environmental concerns is going A.I...
the beginning of our architectural period seems to lie within the realm of the in and the out.... first came gobekli tepe... then came the natufians... then... came ancient Egypt.... the population of our earth was inevitable... and guess what?...
man did not start moving stone around before the end of the younger dryas.... glacial till is the reason we see all those large stones placed all over everywhere....
Steve “THE CAT” Baczek!!! 😂😂😂
thrust plates...
go on please if ya don't mind..
@@scooter2163 it winds back on itself...
@@scooter2163 the projection is an optical illusion...
@@scooter2163 i think it is in memory to carl escher...
@@jonerlandson1956 if by carl you mean m.c. then I can only half way agree. yes, the stepped depth of the outdoor ceiling/floor of the projection (and yes, it very much is a projection - not an illusion) does bring to mind m.c.'s waterfall that goes up and/or down, but I suspect the undulations of the projection/cantilever's underside loosely follow the required depth of the hidden steel trusses the allow for such wonderful shenanigans!
Its A library 😅
identity theft is a common problem in our existence...
Great stuff, Steve, nice of you to open up your audience to some great contemporary european design.. in this case credit to the architecture firm Snohetta for sure. This building is well known for (among other things) it's outdoor plaza ground level surfaces that seamlessly slope up to become roof surfaces that wrap around and back down again on the other side! The general public has full access to the entire roof!
Sound control? dust trap
option number two...
#FreePalestine #FreeCongo
Looks terrible.. Bunch of glass and concrete. You really think that looks beautiful? Nothing artistic and beautiful about it..
I think its an acquired taste
@african8855 🤣🤣🤣 I guess your right my friend
