Just watching scenes from this reminds me of "Blink," the Weeping Angels' first appearance in Doctor Who. The lighting, the hospital scene with the Dad, and someone living out their life in the past. I'll have to check it out, it looks like a movie where watching it is a much different experience that hearing about it.

It doesn't make no sense they don't explain a lot of stuff in the movie and it doesn't there's no clarification. It is the stupidest movie I saw this year because it doesn't explain anything about the movie it just kind of leaves you hanging to try to figure out what the hell you just saw

All women have to do to avoid all this is to follow the modesty rules told by Abrahamic religions. Throughout history women have controlled their societies especially the female half. Just afew decades ago in my part of the world, young, unmarried girls weren't allowed to wear makeup, dress in very bold styles or freely cosy up with men ,similarly , men were restricted by society and religion such they can have a woman only in wedlock ( even polygamy means the man has to marry the women, put up with all Inlaws, take care of finances and future kids. Also these women will have share in inheritance as widows .Modern society has made everything better for men, they can marry one, have a girlfriends and mistresses, without the added responsibility. They get free sex , soon ,men will stop marrying at all. In old times women knew realistically that if all women are allowed to go about naked, the younger ,beautiful ones will always have the edge. Temptation is strong. And today's world is full of it. Women are doing it to themselves.

I loved heretic, Felt like I was watching Lucifer breakdown why God is not the one in control and for that what power does he really have among those with free will. HE Questions you about everything , you answer , he smirks ask why and hit you with another question that makes you think deeply on what you follow. Crazy psychological Thriller that ask The question "What do you believe and why"? A battles of Wits between a devil and a Believer who holds fast to their faith ultimately a test. Until the final moment when the believer is about to break and give up a true Miracle happens.

Why skipping the scene with the old guy? Because of his words that Elisabeth was shaken to go on a date in the first place and it also it reminded us about the note, that it was the younger self who gave the note, not the old guy, so it switches the idea of whose life was changed. Or the billboard outside the apartment appeared only after Sue appeared, prior it was a clean view and Sue got rid of the giant picture of Elisabeth as well as her stuff etc, it was such a direct and clever detail.

There are some good point but I find the video really at charge against Manon « oh she finally decided to show up probably because someone told her she’ll be in the group so she need to make an effort », you don’t know her but you keep making assumptions. Not really an objective video.

The older you get the more you realize that religious folks are just eternally afraid, and will turn to anything that makes them feel safe, and right, and better than others. Or they were raised to believe. These are the people without the ability to think for themselves. They’d be Muslim if they were born in the ME. Catholic if they were born into it, atheist if they were born into it. They don’t find god on their own, they were just brainwashed from birth. Never asking questions. And most of them don’t even follow their own rules. They cherry pick whatever is easiest or whatever they can use against others. And let the rest fall by the way side. So many don’t even have belief. They just wear their religion like an accessory bc they think it’s cute or makes them look better. But they really don’t have any deeper thoughts on life and purpose. So yea, send them all to these houses 😂

the movie really fell apart at the end considering how detail was seemingly supposed to be such a large element to this ... the part where the two slave wifes traded places how can we believe the slave woman who can barely walk moved the table lifted a heavy door picked up a dead body somehow brought her down the chute and then carried her about 15 feet in the tunnel climbed back up shut the door moved the table back in place all in about 30 seconds (with nobody hearing anything) Yeah no sorry...this was pretty stupid...also why or how she threw up blueberry pie after she pretended to be resurrected when she wasn't even the one who ate the pie is kinda stupid after the fact. The movie was pretty good leading up to that point but those last few scenes destroyed the momentum they built up to that point.

I hate movies like this where the director leaves the conclusion to the viewer’s interpretation, it’s just lazy righting and putting so much symbolism/ foreshadowing is just an excuse to mask that the directors don’t know how to make good endings

Ehh tbf this whole narrative only applies to extremely rigid and strict abrahmic religions aka the worst 3 (Christianity, Judaism, Islam). While other religions are strict they aren't as all controlling as those 3. Pretty much every worst tragedy done in the name of religion is almost always because of those 3.

I’m glad you mentioned the survival methods of women trapped in a scary situation with an increasingly malevolent man. I’ve become fully engrossed in movies lately with a strong empathy for the character and all I can think about is how terrifying it would be for women who have had to face these type of challenges in real life. I was in Paxton shoes the entire time. That is what made this movie scary.

After watching the movie for the first time, I spent hours reflecting (yes, this movie truly rents a penthouse in your mind). I was reflecting, trying to find another meaning beyond the common understanding of themes like aging and the beauty industry, which are indeed present in the film. The first thing I noticed (which initially seemed like a flaw but is actually another layer of reflection) is that Elizabeth is not present in Sue. She doesn’t rejuvenate by using the substance; she doesn’t live a perfect version of herself. Both Elizabeth and Sue are two distinct individuals. When I realized this, I thought of a potential logical flaw in the film: what woman would take a substance that would deform her body, leaving a huge scar, and ultimately not restore her youth, but instead create a “better” and younger being with its own consciousness? I paused for a few seconds, thinking about this logical flaw, glanced to the side, smiled slightly, and remembered all the mothers in this world. After that reflection, I realized that in the movie, Elizabeth “gives birth” to Sue, making her more of a “daughter” than a rejuvenated version of Elizabeth. When I rewatched the film through this new lens, I saw, for the first time, a non-romanticized (and yes, exaggerated) version of motherhood. The mother-daughter dynamic is evident in several moments: the metaphor of maternal sacrifice, the projection of insecurities and desires, and even the term “your better version,” often used by parents to refer to their children, as if pleading with the gods for a wish to be granted. Finally, Sue herself mentions during the interview that every other week, she has to take care of her mother. In the end, this movie was so well executed that it opens the door to various parallel or tangential interpretations, and that’s what enchanted me most about it.

First off…I don’t think many Americans knew about this group during the online voting. I never heard about them! Secondly, these girls were produced so much like a South Korea girl band that it didn’t resonate as being authentic but just overly manufactured and foreign. Thirdly, the voting on girls from different countries was a ridiculous idea since it seemed well advertised in some countries and not so much in the US…plus people were mainly voting for girls from their own country. It wasn’t a fair assessment of talent or group unity.

At the beginning Paxton is talking about how she was watching a clip of a p*rn and talks about how hearing the shout of a neighbor makes her think about how God knows what we are doing. This reminded me of my time as an evangelical and my best friend who became one before me would have conversations. When we would see or hear something "secular" we would make it okay by turning it into some sort of life lesson from God==it was our way of kinda getting around it. I don't know if anyone else in that realm did that but that part brought back memories. I remember pastors doing that a bit with pop culture references and making them into a lesson too so maybe we got it from that. I will never forget the time one pastor made a reference to the movie "Vanilla Sky" when the character of Cameron Diaz tells Tom Cruise that when people have s*x their bodies make a promise even if they don't and such. Well, I had watched the movie some years before that and I knew that in the movie she says all those things to him because she is in a deranged state and afterwards drives the car into a wall. I thought then "oh geez, he obviously did not see the movie himself and was taking it out of context but how many others in the church know that. Are these pastors getting some kind of script to go off of with these examples...oh my." I started to get out of that evangelical world luckily, but I will never forget how that way of thinking goes. A lot of mental gymnastics.
