People are hating on Hannah because she's emotionally abusive. Full stop. Nick can suck in his ways too, but Hannah is abusive. It isn't internalized misogyny. She is a shitty person.

I have been in abusive relationship that was both physical, mental and emotional. I could have died from the physical abuse. From my experience, manipulation and gaslighting is the most damaging form of abuse ( i.e. Acting one way around your partner while humiliating and betraying them behind their backs, making them doubt their own reality and denying behavior - everything Nick did.). Over time, it is far worse than physical or verbal abuse.
It makes the person doubt their own perspective, and over time can completely destroy a person. It can actually trigger the victim to lash out and look like the bad guy. It also usually involves destroying the person's reputation so everyone blames the victim. I think Hannah has issues beyond this show, but it could have explained why she had so much contempt for him, she knew he wasn't respecting her and was probably very confused with the cognitive dissonance of how he was acting and how he made her feel.
Yes, verbal abuse and put downs is harmful, but it's much easier to process as it is obvious abuse, and Hannah isn't hiding or denying it, and can even apologize for it (although begrudgingly). That way it's much easier for the victim to say - this is wrong and not my fault, and not be as easily affected by it. Hannah is just like a little child having a tanti. Where Nick is calculating and dishonest.
Btw I don't like either of them, I just think our fundamental misunderstanding of how damaging manipulation can be is a real issue.

I'm sorry but the 'fame' problem with Nick is such a joke, nearly everyone there went onto the show with the same prospects. Hannah is also one to talk as if she didn't QUIT her job TO come onto the show and then try to be a full-on influencer FROM the fame. Even if these things were true, it is NOT an excuse for the abuse she put him through. I don't even know why this was being entertained at all.

I have to say with this reunion my opinion of Ashley completely tanked. What I see now is a woman who is now backing her man in walking out on his responsibilities. It does not matter at all to us as an audience what the situation was then or now is but the children's mother has put it out there that Tyler was fully active in their life until he left for the show, even going as far as saying they discussed them attending the wedding on the show. Instead he has been MIA since leaving and is behind in child support and hasn't been in their lives for a year now. What woman could/should be OK with being married to a man who has ditched a previous family? If I met a man and he told me the "truth" as Ashley says he did I would want to know when our weekends with the children were and how to budget for their support. Why are those children suffering for Tyler and Ashley's new happiness? Just wrong on so many levels.
Then as far as the Nick and Hannah situation. As a woman I would say I'd rather Nick made a comment like the grenade thing in private and it never hit the show at all if it were me. She complained about his looks too but did it on air and went on to complain about everything he did other than breath. Even if Nick was only trying to stay on the show he still was respectful to her the entire time and treated her well but nothing he did made her happy at all. Trying to make him look bad now only seems to pile onto how Hannah behaved the entire time which was berating him over and over again. One instance of saying he wasn't happy with her looks does not make him evil and keeping it off camera was the polite thing to do in that situation and obviously Hannah wouldn't know polite if it bit her in the ass.

Hannah is trying to play the victim after discovering Nick was underwhelmed by her looks, despite her clearly being disappointed over his height (something he can't control) during the reveal. She even teased him about it on the show. So, according to Hannah, she's allowed to make comments and implications about Nick's appearance on camera, but when he makes a single off-camera comment, he's the bad guy. Nick is far from being a saint, but putting him on the spot for the grenade comment is hypocritical.

The woman has some nerve!!! She berated Nick throughout the show, not to mention the way she was allowed to go at him during the reunion episode. The emotional abuse she meted out to him in front of millions was unbelievable! Also, calling Hannah out for her unacceptable behavior is not hate, it is a reality check.

  • @silverentei
    @silverentei 21 день тому +80

I'm a woman with ADHD and I while I didn't leave hate comments anywhere, I really don't like Hannah. Nick was an immature idiot, but at least he had enough grace to keep his negative comments and private life off camera. Meanwhile, Hannah had no problem openly being mean to him, putting him down, and criticizing him at every turn. I agree with what she was trying to say most of the time, but she went about voicing her issues with Nick in an uncomfortable and abusive way. Their dynamic was hard to watch. No one deserves to be treated that way and it was also hard to see her barely own up to her own problems, let alone having Marissa defend her while having nothing to say about the asshole that Ramses is. I don't think calling out shitty behavior from women inherently means I have internalized misogyny. Women can and should be held accountable for their behavior like anyone else. It just really rubbed me the wrong way when you said that. Additionally, I do agree 100% with your stance on Ashley and Tyler. I found it wildly inappropriate that people online not only sought out the kids' birth certificates, but also posted them online. Some people really don't have anything better to do with their own lives, I guess.

I also have ADHD, but I completely agree with the point about internalized misogyny. Hannah’s behavior was often mean and immature. But so was Nick’s behavior, as it turns out. I think it’s actually worse to be fake nice to someone when the cameras are around and then make fun of them behind their back. That’s duplicitous and manipulative. I don’t trust a word that man says now.
At least Hannah apologized to him. All he did was deny his part in it. She knew he was using her and being fake to make himself look better. That doesn’t excuse all of her rude behavior, but certainly helps explain it.

Yeah. I didn't like the internalized misogyny comment either. Most of the comments I've seen don't treat Nick like a golden retriever. Whatever Nick said off camera, it sounds like it wasn't great but Hannah's behavior was next level. One of my male relatives was in a relationship with an abusive woman. Hannah is...almost there, from what I've seen. Some people say outright abusive, I wouldn't use that word, but her behavior was not the way you treat people and it was hard to see Marissa support her in deflecting the conversation back on Nick when he already had to listen to all that crap from Hannah that we all saw on camera. And no one except Garrett showed any concern for Nick's side of the experience. Also - men calling out women for internalized misogyny go figure 🙄

I also just find it annoying after the brutal verbal beating that Trevor got that him trying to be famous on the show makes him more irredeemable than abandoning your kids and HIDING THEM (as well as making your mother hide them) before going on the show. There’s no way you can argue that’s honest behavior.

So if the mom felt the need to go online and confront him about the truth, that tells me that he's not giving the same courtesy of honesty to his biological kids and their mom. Also, where is he in their life now?! If he was with them the day before filming but has been ghosting them since then, that is absolutely awful. I agreed on your takes on Ramses but here in terms of Hannah you are actually doing a Ramses imho. You have a narrative about people hating confident women and you ate letting this narrative shape your opinion. Hannah was abusive not confident. She was toxic and rude. She had no manners and yeah I prefer the "fake" Nick than this. All of them are fake Tyler and Ashley literally lied. And i am not talking about hiding the kids. Ashley pretended that she had 2nd thoughts wasn't this for the cameras? All of them want to be famous. Nick is just an idiot who got caught. Till now I have agreed with everything you said but boy this is a bad take....😊

He cheated on his first fiancé with his baby mama and the twins were confirmed to be conceived the old fashioned way. If you are going to put yourself on a reality tv show, this is what comes to you. I completely agree that the children should not have been exposed,

Also, I don't care if Ashley knew about the kids before or after. The issue for me is that he admits to playing a role as their father and has now abandoned them for the past year. There's not a positive spin for that. The fact that they both seemed okay with this does say something bad about both of them.

My thoughts after witnessing this astoundingly trashy debacle: Adults choosing to put their lives on display in front of the entire world, especially when supposedly in pursuit of a permanent relationship, can logically expect to have all facets of their lives placed under a microscope. The kind of curiosity that draws viewers won't be easily contained, especially with all the easily accessible information available, regardless of what instructions content creators or contestants attempt to impose on the audience. I got drawn into this crap show this season, due to an affinity for several different reviewers - their styles and intelligent perspectives seemed worth the time...but then the story became Jerry Springer-level disgusting. I am done with this ridiculous franchise, and low key hope it meets the same fate as what occurred during the conclusion of, "Unreal." I will explore some of the reviewers' other content, though, and am grateful for those discoveries. Kinetic can change its name to Stagnation, and rot, IMRHO. Thank you for your presentations. I am about to check out your review of, "The Substance," and I will leave "reality" tv alone. Bless up, everyone.

  • @Ninjaagentxx

Couldn't agree more, the hate against Hannah is really unwarranted when looking at how Nick also behaved very poorly and was also deceptive on top of it all. The internalized misogyny is really showing towards her and Marissa for having her back, which is unfortunate because neither of them deserve the hate. I don't think that Taylor moving to DC for Garrett is "true love," that's an incredibly huge sacrifice and means that she will be leaving her family behind, it was so sad to see her parents and know she won't be near them anymore. Didn't Garrett tell her he would be happy to settle in San Diego, now he's going back on what he said? Like cool that he did it for a year, that's not really fair if he expects her to live permanently in DC to cater to him and be close to his family while leaving hers behind. Real love doesn't go back on promises, Garrett also lost cool points when he tried to butt in and stop the conversation about Nick from happening, it's giving toxic "bro code" enabling behavior.

I disagreed with almost everything said in this video. It’s not internalized misogyny to call out bad behavior. Marissa went after Nick with more energy than she did Ramses who I believe knew he wasn’t going to marry Marissa after the kid talk combined with the thoughts of forever dealing with her mother. She allowed her mother to talk about the hardship she and her mother faced after his choice and allowed her mother to say she wanted to punch him in the throat, only to reveal she was still having sex with the man after everything. Hannah completely dodged accountability by using her friends to dog pile on Nick. She went into his personal belongings after being broke up and no one called her out for that. You give Ramses props for avoiding actually confirming what Nick said, instead he just said take accountability? He didn’t want to break bro code and so he skirted around actually confirming. Give him props, if he said “Nick, you told me that Hannah was a 5 and you called her a grenade. I told Marissa. Own up.” But no he dodged actually backing Marissa fully. Hannah was being calculated by how she brought up his note book and the rumors of what he said, before anyone could actually call her out for her abusive behavior. I personally believe Nick was not happy with her looks and he did what Tyler and Ashley did and avoided talking about it on camera because doing what Hannah did was demeaning and hard to watch. Always making comments about his height and mean comments about his appearance. Nick needed to own what he said and people have pointed out all of Nick’s flaws. His immaturity, lack of financial literacy, his inappropriateness with other women. We can acknowledge Nick’s wrongs and not try to cancel out Hannah’s wrongs with his. That’s what people are mad at.

I don't think is misogyny to call out Marisa for the way she acted, I think it was anger misguided and she should've roasted Ramses instead of Nick. But she's clearly into him so the next available avenue was Hannah's sidekick.

Nick deserved some smoke for being so fake though and Marissa also said Hannah is in the wrong. The hate against Marissa feels misguided.

Yeah bro, I think you need to follow-up on this. Your take on Tyler and Ashley is just horrible. Especially with all of the facts that came out from both the mother of Tyler's Children, her Ex Wife and Her mother. All of which have far more insight than Ashley on the situation... You wild for taking such an absolute stance, especially when you admit you don't know all the details that came out.

23:15 This is not necessarily a high point. Women for the most part are always the ones left to make the sacrifices. He promised her ALL season that he would move for her, and in less than a year, he back tracked. This is really sad actually. And even more sad is the fact that LIB often casts men unsuitable for the quality of women they cast. None of these guys were good enough for the women. Funny enough the only one that comes close is Leo.

I liked Tyler on the show , really great guy then... horrified. Then thought something wrong here with the lesbian relationship...then hmmm. Im back to liking him. I think he has "women/mother" issues in that he over loves them. Over compensates and ended up in the middle of two female friends. Over compensated to father the first child. Then genuinely took his role as parent and fell into a relationship with his close friend. friends are often codependant. I think its hard to understand how he thought his story would pan out on TV. Best he said in the pods. But i think hes a genuingly loving guy who gave too much of himself through some kinda outplay of childhood trauma and im glad he found love with Ashley.
