DRAGON’S LAIR: My First PERFECT Game on my Arcade 1up Dragon’s Lair!
Although I’ve slayed the dragon many times on my Arcade 1up Dragon’s Lair arcade game, and achieved the highest score possible of 373,879 (3 Dirks on easy setting), I’ve never accomplished that with NO unnecessary sword or stick inputs…until now!

I’m really happy with how this turned out. The bluetooth sounds amazing. Also, the stock cassette functionality is maintained so you can play regular cassettes.

This is a somewhat aggressive acceleration for me. I have yet to keep it floored between shifts though. The sound of the LQ1 is amazing and really comes out with the 5 speeds.

Portable Head Unit Test Board

I built this portable test station for head units after finding myself always piecing wires together every time I wanted to troubleshoot my head units. This makes it so much easier.

Clean I have one too
how's it doing these days??
There are 38 boards before the last dragon board. I love this game, but I don't really care for dragon's lair II.
So cool!!
I had one of these cars I wish I can find another one I had leather buckets and sun roof I would buy one again if I knew who had one in good condition
U did it!!! I remember u had to die/use your lives!!
0:09 i love when intake comes in
Where did you get the mods - the waterfall control deck and the square speakers?
You are amazing, so cool you got it on video 👍
what a find!! i owned a 92 white in color, slate blue interior.
Hi Tom, Would love to see some more videos about your mancave/home arcade. love how you play man.
This video was so fun. Thanks for sharing. For some reason it makes me think of Ready Player One.
I remember having a perfect game on coin-op at the Family Fun Center in Bremerton, WA. That game must have had a 5 man start because running my first man up until the final move to kill the dragon and purposely failing and subsequently doing it with my remaining men. The high score was 402,xxx.
Played DL at the arcade a bit. I liked it, but I could never get very far. I wasn't very ggod at it. Happy to see the entire thing in your video, and happy you reached your goal! :)
If you get the dvd version. Every scene tells you how to do it.
It’s all memory
Played this game at 7-11 every Saturday morning after my paper route
you can play it on playstation now also
Hey Tom, I need to know what vehicle the rear view mirror came out of?
Hi Jeff. I'm sorry my reply is late. I also just responded to your w-body message to me. The mirror is from an 02-05 Sebring/Stratus coupe. I think the convertible ones were different.

Long story short... I had the opportunity to choose my own home arcade game in 1987 (I was 16ys old). It came down to Dragon's Lair or the original Star Wars. I was a massive Star Wars fan and had literally had every Star Wars figurine and playset. My parents were told the Dragon's Lair was going to be very expensive to repair if anything ever went wrong. I'm 52 years old now and the Star Wars arcade game still sits in my living room. Blue dot in the middle of the screen but the audio still works. In hindsight, no regrets. I have all 10 of the top scorers on this machine and I have no doubts that had I got Dragon Lair it would not have lasted as long as the Star Wars did.
This game was made to suck money out of players pockets and leave them not understanding what they just paid a quarter for. Well...for most of us anyway.
Very nice! I'm 53 and love it. I think I missed the scene where dirk jumps through the metal teeth and meets the lava men. Idk. Dragons lair and Space Ace are available on blue ray. Best quality and gameplayabilty I have found closest to the true arcade cab. Have them both on Sega CD. Cheers.
Do you have a arcade dealer near you or did u have to hunt for a good rep dealer
Anyone who knew how to play this was king of the arcade back in the day. Mostly it was kids like me who had no idea how to get past the first few screens, but when the masters came out the case would attract everyone around just so they could see all the little parts of the story they had never seen.
Used to be a broken one at the bowling alley down the street. Unlimited credits. Spent many a day in front of that machine.
I know this game well. That was super impressive sir! 👍🏼
Bless you for this vid
Arcade Row, nice.
Damn, Tom. Thats a sweet collection. Also, Congratulations dragon slayer.
Very nice! I always wanted to see dragons lair finished because I did space ace when I was younger and was sooo proud when I did maybe 30 years ago 😂
I also played Dragon's Lair when it was new in arcades. I have a question. Is there a reason why everyone jumps off the elevator at the last possible stop? After 40 years I just realized that everyone does that but I don't know why. I always do that, but I know that it is fine to jump off at at earlier stop. I suspect that I saw someone else do it so I did the same. Does it effect the room order? Score more points? Honestly I have never cared about or paid attention to points in this game.
I remember reading about this game in some magazine back in the 80s. The graphics got me absolutely drooling, and I couldn't believe how good it looked. And some time later I saw an ad for it on c64, and the add seemed to indicate that the graphics was similar to the arcade version. I didn't buy it of course, because I onle ever had cracked and pirated games. If I had payed for it I would have been livid. The graphics were so bad in comparison. lol
I played this a bunch of times when I was a kid Turnin 51 this year I usually got to the dragon but never could beat the dragon for some reason but I watched others Beat It it was cool I ordered the one up when it went on sale like 6 months ago I still have not opened it up and put it together but after watching your video makes me want to do it today great video thanks for the great memories
Great video, would be nice if you could video it in first person view so its like were playing it with you
Nice game room.
Wow!! They really don’t give you much of an epilogue for that either lol. She jumps in your arms and game over. Incredible job mate. I remember this game eating my lunch when I was a kid.
Used to love the crowd behind me when I played this game. Lots of quarters, but I did learn to beat the game and then never failed.
I won back when I was a kid in high school. I'd never made it to the last scene so I had no idea what to do. All of a sudden some guy standing next to me told me what to do. I won the game and turned around and there were a ton of people who were watching me play that I didn't know were there. I looked to my side to see who had been helping me, but there was no one there. It was a very interesting experience.
I finally got that achievement on the Steam version (no visual cues). I never could stomach the earlier version for home: Escape from Singe's Castle. The old CRT's have a charm of their own.
I defeated the dragon at a pizza shop when I was around 13, after countless quarters. I never received a t-shirt that was promised for whoever defeated the dragon. Awesome memories though! Now I'm immersed in a world of classic arcade games, thanks to VR! It feels just like being a kid again!
That game was and still is ahead of it's time. I am shocked that a game designer hasn't done another animated action game like this.
It wasn't a perfect game, he died twice. I don't understand why he had to die twice.
Dang dude move on. This game sucked. Play new games today. Not subing.
It's lovely to see a like-minded soul enjoying Dragon's Lair some 40 years on from release. Well done, Tom.
That was awesome! I have never seen that complete game! Too Cool! Thanks for sharing!!
I’m the same age as you and we used to play that game at the axle roller rink in norridge Illinois!
Add Space Ace and Space Ace 2 to that , both good games.
Not a big fan of the arcade game, but you remind me of myself and the love I have for the 80's, malls and traditional arcade games. However, what drew me to this was actually an italo disco song by Koto called Dragon's Legend which uses the game and Princess Daphne's voice as a sound bite in the song. The premise of the video game is interesting and feel like it could be made into a movie. If I made the movie, I would star Bruce Campbell as Dirk. Anyway, here's the song... ua-cam.com/video/FWzrcb8qZg8/v-deo.html
