Use black as the base colour and use a alpha channel to mask off the black area leaving room for another bsdf that is the base colour. Combine them both before the output. I’ll make a video, im getting asked this alot.

@@walejaw3d Me no understand, oop (>~<) So, use black as base colour when creating new texture? Use the alpha option when creating the new texture? Add new BSDF? And combine both (BSDFs?) using what? A Mixshader node?

Basically yes. Id be more precise with my answer but im on holiday with the family and the missus keeps giving me stink eye when im on my phone. Just mix shade them together.

You cant have fire & smoke at same time. Technically there both the same so they merge as one. You have to render the smoke and flames seperate on a alpha layer and composite them together in a video editor

Habits die hard. Just drag and drop the image into blender, i know i know. You only need it for 2 seconds of modelling so i let it be.

@walejaw3d I did all that an if there not joined only the yellow outlined parts take the paint. It won't even paint on other parts

Check your faces are facing the correct way. Normals might be backwards. Id need to look at your file to see proply

3d print apps will fill those gaps dont worry. As long as its not a window size hole the app will create a volume of the collective etc.

@@walejaw3d ok but I need to close it with blender. is it possible? maybe I could create a big cube and cover the 3d model; after it I could repair the 3d model and cancel the big cube; what do you think?

@protomanialab there are many options. Booleen, joining meshs, remeshing, bridging edge loops etc. all depends on what your what your end goal is etc. ive tried everything and in the end, if you just make sure thing overlap each other they will print ok

Save the uv map. Uv maps and blender files save separately. When doin uv stuff ull see a save button. Always make sure to save the uv before closing or itll reset back to nothing etc

@solus39 usually next to the +new button. Can be found on top bar of shader editor too

@@solus39 additionally you can go -file menu and pack all your files to the blend file. then unpack them. It will save them within the blend file then. This is good if you're disorganized like me and one day move a bunch of files on your computer lol

@@walejaw3d but will that keep all the image mapping in place? The piece would loose all of their center or pivot points too right?

You would just be duplicating into another layer. You would run a duplicate texture in the shader editor. Even keep the layers separate, just select all before you go into texture mode and it should let u paint all at once but remain separate etc

Try modelling a car. These are all the tools you need. Saves me being boring and making a week long episode. Most people are smart and need a quick breakdown rather than having someone hold there hand the hole time etc.

All the tools and tricks are important and prob help modeling a car, but Id still consider it as a general "advanced" blender video, instead of specified for cars. But still liked it =)) - The last tipp i keep forgettin, so good i keep hearing it hehe
