Great books! I’ve done a summer book haul if you are interested 🤗
This was a great video! I would love to see recs specifically for fantasy, romance, and thriller readers wanting to try out some literary fiction!
OMG, this book has been sat on my shelf and now i must read it. Tysm!!
Great Video
Please do the individual literary fiction videos. Trying to read more literary fiction❤
Part of Your World is the best Abby Jimenez book, by far.
I read monstrillio earlier this year and I LOVEEEED it!! i think about it often, the aspect of grief in that book really stuck with me. I also agree with why you didn't enjoy yours truly because same girl, the miscommunication trope was driving me crazy lol i've also been wanting to read talking at night and as someone who also loved normal people (both the book and show!) i'm definitely picking it up soon!!
LOL omg died when your reference to Molly Ringwald was… Secret Life of an American Teenager. Def not my reference ❤️😂👵🏻
came to hunt for this comment! Not even a GenXer but I was like Molly Ringwald... the 80s icon of Sixteen Candles and Breakfast Club fame!!! And then she said Secret Life and I cracked up.
I really enjoy your recommendations we have similar taste in books! The only genre I really don’t read is horror but I love literary fiction and literary fiction that has love (in all its forms). 🤍 I was going to watch One Day on Netflix. I didn’t know it was a book though. Would you recommend reading the book first?
Thanks for the great recs!! I'm not much for romance books but my mom is and I'm always on the hunt for good deep love stories for her😊
St swithins day❤
omg I had noooooooo idea you also uploaded content on youtube. now I have better access to you talking about books while I work. honestly a bad idea anyway because I will read anything you enjoy slash love.
I got so mad towards the last 20% of yours truly I just wanted it to end lol I don’t think Abby Jimenez is for me tbh
We are on the same boat with both comments. I read the synopsis for the rest of her books and wasn’t interested in any. The only good part on Yours Truly was Jacob
I would love to see more gothic books recommendations please! I’m reading Rebecca for the first time based on your review! Loving it so far
Ugh I wish I could read Rebecca for the first time again. I can definitely make a video with some gothic book recs in the future! I am working on adding more to the list
Ugh I wish I could read Rebecca for the first time again. I can definitely make a video with some gothic book recs in the future! I am working on adding more to the list
I found you on TikTok the one with gothic books recs! I also found out you have UA-cam I immediately subscribed and binged all of your videos! Love your taste in books! My favorite of the months are vampire of el norte, slewfoot , the beautiful ones & wellness by Nathan hill!
Ahh thank you! <3 the first three books you mentioned I have on my tbr. Which of the three would you recommend I read first?
@@athenasatheneum it’s so difficult I love them all! Umm go for wellness by Nathan hill since it’s literary fiction!!
❤📚❤️ I've added Talking at Night. Thank you! I own One Day, I've had it a long time, but I haven't read it yet. I didn't even realize Netflix had a show!
I found out about it because I saw everyone making reaction videos to before and after they watched the show on Netflix. Curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see what all the crying was about 😅
Your taste in books is elite ! Love your recommendations so much , also loving the more frequent uploads ❤️ I bought talking at night this week !
I appreciate you ❤ I’m working on a posting schedule for UA-cam to stay consistent (or at least try). Let me know what you think of the book! It is a bit slow in the beginning but push through because it’s so worth it
I just love your taste in books! Finished Talking At Night last week, and cannot stop thinking about it: "I wish I had done everything on earth with you..." 💔
That quote in the beginning has been haunting me. I already want to reread it 🙃
@@athenasatheneum It's just so perfect! And me too. Want to go back and tab/annotate! I'd recommend the audiobook (narrated by Emma Appleton)!
i love how you edit your videos. they are so calming to watch 💌
Thank you so much!! 🫶🏼
ok this was such a good video. i love how you explained all of these. ive been interested in the genre and read a few famous ones but added these instantly to my tbr. also please please do a weird sad literary fiction book rec PLEASE.
I’m glad that they interested you! I always worry that i am spoiling a book with how I’m describing it so this is good feedback. I can post a weird lit fic book list this month!
I love the way you described these. I definitely added a few to the never ending TBR
Thank you! I hope you find some recs that you enjoy!
I just ordered Almond because I really want to read it. And I also just subscribed lol
Happy to have you! ❤ Let me know what you think of Almond (especially the ending)
❤📚📚❤️
normal people is the absolute best recommendation!! one of my favorites. definitely adding these to my TBR, great list!
If you love normal people I recommend Talking At Night by Claire Daverley it is sooo good & the closest I’ve gotten to something similar to Normal People
@@athenasatheneum definitely adding to my TBR thank you!
❤📚❤️ Great haul! I'm reading an older book right now. Still Life with Bread Crumbs by Anna Quindlen. I'm 80 pages into the 252-page book and really enjoying it.
❤📚📚❤️ Subscribed! I loved this video, and I love literary fiction as well.
Yay! Thank you! 🫶🏼
ooo i had added ‘talking at night’ to my list of books i’d like to read but had completely forgotten about it until now. i love when a book sucks you in like that & makes you feel all the feels!!! also so damn excited for you next vid bc i wanna know your thoughts on ‘one day’ & if you ended up watching the show!! also everand is truly so good, its the same for me where if i can’t get my hands on it from libby or spotify i can for the most part find it on everand!!
I was finding every spare couple of minutes I had throughout the day to read the book & it is one of my favorite feelings. It happens to rare these days so I knew it was going to be good & it didn’t disappoint! I am editing the video now that will include One Day so it should be up soon! I am stuck still rewatching episodes of the show in the meantime 😅 Everand is such a lifesaver & worth every penny!
I have been loving your videos lately, they just calm me in a good way🫶🏻
Aww thank you 💗💫
Mary Jane was *so* good! I loved the audiobook, you actually get to listen at the end to the song they wrote for Mary Jane, it was so precious and unique!!
Ahh I missed this. I’ll check my library for a copy because I’m curious to hear the song
just found you on my recommendations. I like your taste! and I like your name too hehe :) My name is Athina too but not with an e. I rarely see people with the name.
Nice to meet you Athina! This is the first that I see the name spelled with an I but I love it. Do we have similar book taste?
Loved reading Normal People and Almond, would keep the others in tbr, thank you for the recs!!
I hope you enjoy them! If you are looking for something like Normal People I recommend Talking At Night by Claire Daverley
Only 30 seconds into the video and I already subscribed ☻
Thank you 🥰🥹
Emily Henry men are top tier, I swear. I think Miles is also my favorite of them, although for me, I think he's the least attainable one out of all of them just because I cannot imagine a man having an EQ that high. The way he just understands people and his overall social skills are so astounding.
Why do I find him more attainable over a gus? (Although I would love to be with someone like Gus). Miles emotional intelligence is one of his best traits
Just finished reading The Rachel Incident from my library by Caroline O’Donoghue
This book is on my list for next month! What did you think of it?
@@athenasatheneum I really enjoyed it but I’ve only just started reading literary fiction. I found the characters to be relatable even while the messy situations they find themselves in were not, if that makes sense
@@pjsandpages92 yes that makes sense! Having relatable characters is a big pro for me. Thank you for sharing and if you need some more literary fiction recommendations let me know!
Adding all the books you bought to my tbr🫡
Appreciate the trust in book recs ❤
Anything similar to normal people *immediately adds to tbr*
It won’t disappoint I promise. (I have already read it and loved it)
I clicked soo fast ! Been waiting for a new video from you ❤
Thank you ❤ I’ll be posting again in a few days! I just need to finish editing
My absolute fave type of Booktube videos! Would love an updated bookshelf tour though!
Would you consider doing a tour of your bookshelf? I always love peeking at the spines behind you and would love to see your full collection
Yes of course! I will post it in June & can give a tour
Would trust ur recommendations with my life!
I appreciate you!! 🫶🏼
this is so cute!
Thank you ♥️
I would love a romance literary fiction recommendation for beginners. And also lgbtq+ literary fiction books.
Love both of these ideas and can definitely do both. Thank you!
literally always trust ur recs, ur the reason why i found one of my all time favs- a dowry of blood 🫶🏻
Ahhh my list of sapphic vampire books is so long and I still feel like I need more. So glad you enjoyed it! 🫶🏼
My wallet is going to hate me 😂 2024 has been the year I’m getting back into literary fiction. Love your videos!
Same, just bought Wandering stars, after annie, exhibit 😅
Ahh thank you! Whenever I go a little overboard with the book shopping i start looking in my public library to find the balance 😅
Loving your videos and recommendations! Please do more I have just ordered some of your Recs
I definitely will, thank you! Which books did you order?
Almond and Mary Jane! I have read normal people and liked it ok but really wanna try conversations with friends
