I've played FF15 at lunch and yes the story was a broken mess (I'm into FF just for the story). Never played the DLCs because I felt I've paid the full price for a complete game, which FF15 was not. Regarding the brotherhood, the blind guy was just a servant, a very loyal one that said. The visuals, yes, gorgeous game but I felt that was just that, a gorgeous game.

Idk if I’m just not a super critic or I have “bad taste” but while 13’s story was confusing I throughly enjoyed 13 and 13-2 even more

This game is defiantly one of my favorite games of all time. Everything about it makes it so fun to come back to and replay. And although I loved playing Nier on PS3, Automata will always feel like a great improvement to it. It's funny to think that Gestalt was an XBox 360 exclusive in japan and Replicant was a PS3 exclusive, but they decided to only localize Gestalt for the West on both 360 and PS3 because they thought the US audience would better connect with a father saving his daughter, than a brother saving his sister.

My credentials: I beat the game twice! The main storyline in 2011 and the Platinum Trophy in 2019! I also beat part II and Lightning Returns once. I never played any other FF game I loved the game linearity, fight mechanics and disliked tedious grinding of the game It seems like developers listened nay sayers (instead of those who loved the game) to deteriorate parts II and III No wonder psrts II and III failed. Why would those who disliked the original buy parts II & III? Only those who liked the original dis! Part II feels like a girly game while part III features open world where player is constantly under time pressure I treat FF13 original game ending as a true ending. Ff13 parts II & III are mistakes that need to be forgotten

One of my hated sequels. Putting gameplay aside, I quite after about 75% into the game because I couldn't take this atrocious plot anymore. FF-13 was extremely flawed, but by the end I started to get invested in the world they created and wanted to see more of it. What I got instead in the sequel , as I saw it, was a complete destruction of everything they built and instead created an entirely different plot and core elements with incoherent time travel that felt it came from some unestablished thoughts of a fanfic writer. I can't remember at this point, because it has been years and years since I played it, But I remember it being so broken I didn't understand why they did this. I remember being so frustrated as I got zero continuation to world building and characters. Comparing it to another flawed sequel, FFX-2, we can see that although the feel of the game got changed, and it had a lot of problems, the main idea for the plot was what I felt was a good one. We got to see how this world deals with the aftermath of the events that changed it, after a thousand years of a constant reality that froze civilization in a certain oppressive way was now gone. You see returning characters in the aftermath, how they try to live their lives, their struggles to these changes. You see how people evolve, how Conservative and progressive factions emerge, one that tries to preserve and hold to some familiar elements, while the other tries to break from it. A lot of the human elements that make sense are there in the evolution of the world. FF13 had some similar notions to FFX, I really couldn't stomach what they did there, where they made a salad, chopped everything up, and gave me this weird time travel/parallel world BS.

Awesome dive into a great season. If y'all liked this series, check out Dark Winds; it kind of reminded me of True Detective season 1

So should you watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood before playing this? I played this back at launch and actually really enjoyed it. It took my PS4 dying for me to stop playing it and I just never got back to it and now it's freakin' 7 years later. 16 is coming to PC in a few weeks which has me wanting to get back and try to finish 15... X-2's greatest weakness is the collectathon nature of it, but honestly if you consider collectathon RPGs, X-2 is an easy one. Donkey Kong 64's story mode is IMHO "baby's first collectathon" and X-2 is only a small step up the ladder from there. But with regards to Final Fantasy itself collectathon wasn't remotely new. Especially when it comes to content walled off by annoying mini games. For X in particular if you were able to get through that one's mini games without criticizing it for them criticizing X-2 for its own shouldn't be a thing. It shows how tightly wound your nostalgia googles for X are if you do, and is extremely hypocritical.

This is my second time watching this vid in the past year. I always thought FF13-2 looked like shit and only ever tried it once years ago for 15 mins and didn’t like it. But after watching this again I’m gonna give it a real try and I’m excited. But I can’t agree on the music being better in ff13-2, seems good but it didn’t hit for me, maybe that will change when I play it. Anyways great vid

Final Fantasy 15 is the best game I've played. I even name my son Lucian Caelum because of this game. I love the gameplay and the story, etc. P.S. My son name is supposed to be Noctis, but my partner didn't allow me. Because Noctis sound like Nocus (Squid) in our local language and she hated it. But still thankful she allowed me to keep Lucian Caelum, and she didn't know it came from this game. I told her that its a constellation of star (Caelum) and Lucian is (Light) which is partly true, hahaha.

After I finished FF VII Remake and Rebirth, a friend recommended XV to me. And I have to say that the 15 has grown on me even more than any other part I've played. I love open world, the battle system (I don't use the waitmode) and I don't even need to start with the Regalia (Type D). And the OST gave me chills. Especially “Apocalypse Noctis” When I think of FFVII's graphics, the wall jpg of Midgar is always the first thing that comes to mind. In the 15th, everything is "alive" up to the horizon and the day-night cycle also brings in dynamism. And I also particularly like the little things, such as Noctis getting dirty from fighting and fishing, or his hairstyle no longer being neat due to the rain. I also like the dynamic between the guys more. In the 7, I'm particularly bothered by the whining and pushy nature of Tifa's character. The story of 15 is a bit confusing, I don't want to contradict that, but since I know or have all the media around, I can figure out the connections. The story of 7 is largely known, but now the changes make the story more complicated for players who know the original. Since I've found Zack to be my favorite FFVII character since Crisis Core, I'm naturally very excited to see how he fits into the whole story. All in all, I'm really looking forward to the third part of the 7. But the 15 will probably remain number one for me for the time being.

This game got an absurd level of hate, it's actually very refreshing and a fantastic, whimsical twist to a somewhat sinister chapter of the saga. I loved it and I still do to this day, even if I never really found out how to fight with monsters in your party and stuff.

If i could make my memories forget the story about this game i would def forget it and play again

I am so glad that someone who actually paid attention to the battle system is talking about it. So many people didn't bother reading anything and just went "Auto-Attack BRRR". But Paradigm Shift is legitimately a cool on the job system and this is the ONLY Final Fantasy that gives both magic and physical distinct roles so they're not put in a weird situation where Physical is straight up better because it requires fewer resources, but instead physical and magical compliment each other due to how the stagger gauge works. And debuffs are extremely strong in this game a huge plus in my book.

I love FFX but I can't play the HD remaster. What they did to Tidus's face is unforgivable. Original ps2 version on an emulator with anti aliasing and 4k resolution is the definitive way to play imo

Just finished the game again, on my way to collect everything. I absolutely love the gameplay and puzzling of searching artifacts and figuring out the timeline and connectivities. But once I get the swing of it its over quite quick. Wish they gave sahz some more time in the game, as well for fang and vannile even though that makes less sense but could be some more dreamrealm stuff. The addition of monsters in battle and to collect them was awesome too. With the time mechanic and my memory not being that great no more its a wonderfull game to replay every now and then.

If you gotta play a game for 20 hours for it to get good... It's not a great game
