Embroidery Trimming Fix
Переглядів 2,2 тис.10 місяців тому
I started having problems with trims on one of our Melco EMT 16X machines. I made a call to tech support after seeing a video Melco posted that might fix my issues so I gave it a shot. You will have to replace your Needle plate for this upgrade if you have a "BT" on the under side of it. Screen Printing something Different
Good to meet you today! Thanks for stoping by our booth. Maybe we can work together down the road. Best of luck to you.
How is the service with MELCO, we are located in Kingston Ontario
The main HQ is in Denver Colorado but I know there are techs placed in different areas. The phone support has gotten better but I have never had to send someone out to our location. I have just fixed any issues myself with parts they sent to replace or repair if needed. So far the only thing I have replaced on these 2 machines is the needle plates for trimming. One of the two worked great. Still having some trouble with trims on one machine. 🤔
Love it! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
What type of backing is that you used in this video and where can I purchase some?
Here you go, thanks for asking. It’s where I get embroidery stuff for now. Working on a new resource for everyone but I currently don’t have this product set up yet. Stay tuned. www.madeirausa.com/31-24-25-e-zee-cut-super-hefty-30oz.html
This is great it’s why crafters are creative.
I love your comment, 😍 Exactly right! What problem do I need to solve to get the results I want and how can I do it myself to save money.
My hoop master is 20 years old. (I've been in business for a while 😊). My hoop master came with screw in clamps that your hoop snapped into. The only time I need to adjust is when I switch shirt sizes. It works great I was thinking of upgrading, but now I think I will keep my antique. It looks like new.
Thank you. Keep making these videos pleeeease! As a newby who purchased a second hand Melco, I find this incredibly helpful. I was given the cold shoulder from Melco when I called numerous times as I didn't purchase directly though them. i was told "look online, there's lots of videos on line". Cheers! Wishing you much success :)
I too got my Melco XT second hand. It’s actually the machine I like best too. Thank you so much for your support. Got some new videos in the works.
I keep having bobbin breaks and thread breaks with my melco and I can’t figure it out. Any suggestions please.
Stay tuned, I will be addressing some of these issues and some tip on how to adjust that. Thank you for research out.
@ thank you. I can’t wait to see the video
maggie hoops are almost half the cost
Thanks for this info!!! I just looked Maggie hoops up, I had no idea. You rock @lctachell
HAHA. I love how you call the Amaya old school. My first machine was a 6 needle single head Medco EMC6 and bought used. Now that was old school.
Love it!
Thanks!!
Amazing! A great hack, thanks
Thanks! Now you can put more money in your pocket 👍
I work with this type of thread, and it's a pain in the a.. But maybe I got some tips for you. The main problem is how the thread comes from the spool, you must turn the spool sideways that the thread comes how it was threaded. You need a metallic needle or at least a 80. The small letters density 0.44, and the maschine should run slow not higher then 600rpm. With all of this you should have less threadbreaks, but they will appear more when the spool is coming to the end. ua-cam.com/users/shortsxffslyhXO60?si=QfGYMwSC-wouYTsH
Thank you so much! Going to be ordering some of those needles for sure.
Use a 90/14 needle and slower speed.
Awesome! Going to give it a try👍
@ParsonsDesigns Hi! Thanks for your videos! I love the reference at the beginning - very encouraging! We are still new to the game but have you tried adjusting the tension too? Metallic threads are tricky, I bet reflectives are similar. This video may have tips that help. ua-cam.com/video/UPgOdI6YDok/v-deo.htmlsi=EJK3YXxDageICLjv
Thank you so much! I will be checking this out.
How long did that take to do 1k prints ?
With just us two guys we do about 100 shirt an hour for one color prints like this. Including stacking and organizing this one took us about 13 hours. The most efficient way to do this is with three people, one person setting shirts, one Printing, and one stacking.
We have watched all ur youtube videos ur killing it. we just got our melco 16x it was based off ur videos on making our choice for melco. we are having a hard time finding a good digitizer would you mind sharing who you use
Hey thanks so much @rustydrake1828 if you send me a message on my website www.parsonsdesigns.com I think I can better send you some information that way. 👍
@ParsonsDesigns Awesome we have emailed you
So very True , of everything you spoke about. Thank you for sharing GOD'S creations. May you be filled with Favor, Prosperity, Health & Grace & Joy...♥️💕🤗😁
Hi Sallie, so good to hear from you. There was a moment while I was in the hammock that I did remove my shoes and talk with God. But your right Next time I will do all of that.
My machine will be delivered soon. I just subscribed 😊
Welcome aboard!
This machine always causes bobbing breaks, regret buying it. Going
You have given the best info on this I have seen! Immediately fixed my issue. I was ready to torch both of mine. Tech support just wanted me to run the gauntlet of steps and pages of the manual. You sir are AWESOME!!!!!
AWESOME! I’m so glad it worked for you too. I hate Melco’s tech support, they should be teaching us ways to keep these machines running and value their customers a little more. It would make a world of difference for Melco.
annoying
which one do you prefer using ?
They each have their place. I feel like the Fast clamp is more out of the box but there has been times that the hoop master is the only option.
It's hard for me
How do I keep the Melco bravo from pushing out the hat when done stitching? The brim of the hat hits the back of where the needles are?
Go to tools, settings, machine, and uncheck the box that says “hoop forward at end of design”
Thanks for another fabulous video. Last year I tried to put three designs on hats but that was a disaster. I ended up doing them all separately : three hundred hoopings for the hundred-hat order. Next time I’ll try to do two at once. Thanks for the motivation! AND you did it on a Richardson hat, my nemesis! Barbara in Colorado
Thanks Barbara, I have totally been there. 😅 you got this 👍
Gosh, your video is brilliant and so informative! I would have thought the problem was the dreaded Richardson hat so it’s good to know I can check my trimmer if it happens to me again. Thanks so much for taking the time to help out the rest of us! Barbara in Colorado
You are so welcome!
Many thanks for the great tips! I’m on a mission to learn the best way to deal with Richardson hats. Interesting that they’re made in different countries and may be different. Barbara in Colorado
Richardson manufactures in 3 different countries. As close as we are to their product as embroidery shops you will eventually able to tell the difference between locations as you hoop and run hundreds of their hats.
Why not just the knife and sharpen it?
Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. The part you would want to sharpen stays inside the needle plate. I would love that though! I said the same thing to Melco. What not make it able to be sharpened. 🤔
The laser is off alittle on melco for hats it's best to estop and drop the needle and make sure it hits the center
Yes, Great tip!!!
Do you protect the bill of the hat so it won't rub?
Most of the time I just put some tape on the bill.
These machines are absolute trash. I have 3 all broken as of today. One broke after a month, second about a year and now my last one 1.5 years. They broke in that order becayse i used one when the other broke, or they probably would have all broke closer to one another
I’m sorry for your experience.
I can‘t confirm your expierience. We work about 14 years with melco. The first XT works again, we changed the trimmer cable, cost maybe 50$. Now the machine it is old and the main board has a trouble, the machine stich well but the needle change only work sometimes. Not a big Problem us, we use for 1 color jobs, we have a lot of this stuff. I wan‘t sell it, it works and makes money. The XTS that we have works and works and works without invested 5$ for parts. This is maybe the best machine that melco build it. The first EMT16 (no Plus) are shit, the EMT 16 plus are better. The work but the bobbin tension it is a pain, every a couple of hours it is to adjust. Also thread trimming can be a pain. Our 2 niw works ok, not good but we make money with it. Our newest EMT16X it is too new, I can‘t say bad things about it. They stich well without troubles. The only thing that we noticed, the look of stitching from the newer machine is not equal to the old one XTS. The older stich taller, small letters and lines are thiner, the new one stich bolder. The only thing to resolve it is to adjust in Designshop.
I have the emt16x and they're trash. 100% trash
Hi, why do you not recommend them?
Melco machines are absolute junk in my experience. I bought a three head and they're broken. Literally one of them broke after a month. Been sitting not functioning since then. I'm down to my last EMT16X and this one is starting to go after 1.5 years
wow, excellent video, very well explained, thanks for taking the time to do it…!!!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for your kind words.
Hmmm same here 😟 I’m paying a lot $$$ for this to continue to happen. I’ve had this machine for six months.
So much rep here! DLH is awesome!
Great recap video I am in the promo business and looking to by a machine for smaller jobs. Considering the Melco along with the Brother PR1550x. Since I had a PR1000e in the past. Quite familiar with it. I like your set up and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much.

Started in 07 also have the XT🩷then got a couple more XTSs in 13. They run.
I love those machies.
How much that kit to fix the melco cost
The hat hoops?
Dude I gotta get back into screen printing I’ve had so many customers asking me to screen print and I’m terrible at it but this video ill def be coming back to it.
I’ve been primarily embroidering which was tricky first but the price of my machine I had to favor it.
I totally get it. 👊
Love this series! Need MORE!!
Thanks for the support guys. This was a fun one
My mellow runs fine, 3 y3ars now
Very intriguing 🤔 And a lot of time & cleaning.... Amazing, Thanks for sharing.... Sending Favor, Prosperity, Health, Grace & Joy... Laughter & Positive thoughts & Vibes Raise the Frequencies wherever you go.
How good is the Melco support , I’m planning to get the 16x
It’s kind of why I started talking more about Melco on this UA-cam channel. Melco support has gotten better but has room for improvement. I would love to build a community here to support each other share tips and suggestions so we can all be more successful.
Thank you for this video!! I have had so many trim issue since I got my EMT 16x's and thought it was because I am still 'new' to embroidery. I even stopped the video to go take of my needle plates and sure enough they were both BT ones. Called tech support and new ones are being sent out. Great to find such a honest, helpful video!
Thanks you so much. I would love to hear back about how your trimming is with the new needle plant.
I’m glad your up and running. Two weeks is Unsatisfactory!
It really is!
Ive had all those problems, got new board several hooks then a whole new machine!! I think my business failed because I wasted so much time with thread breaks difficulty with small letters. Melco has ignored a whole lot of complaints!!! Start training with my new Tajima tomorrow!!
Great video! Thanks for your 'pro' tip! I got a pro tip for you - at 15:40 == When the embroidery is finished don‘t remove the hoop. Turn the garment inside out and cut the backing with a seam ripper. Cut real close to the embroidery. Looks nicer and is much faster than cutting with scissors.
Thanks! 😍
