Not impressed with Defiant outside lights.especially with the instruction manual. I notice it looks like you had to shorten your mounting bracket also.
Hello Rudy, thank you for watching and commenting! I find a lot of instruction manuals are pretty lacking. I’m not sure who writes them, but they need to be fired. Also, honestly, I don’t recall doing any modifications to the product itself. if you can point out the timestamp of when it appears that I did a modification that would be helpful. Maybe I did I just don’t recall. Waiting for reply. Thanks again.! 👍

So much for “helping” me with the video. 😂
Hi, Will the Emporia fit on a 4 by 4 post? How far apart are the screws that hold he attachment bracket? Thanks
The Emporia documentation that I found online doesn’t show the spacing on the screw holes. Only shows that the bracket is about 6 inches wide. If you’re willing to off-center it a little bit I’m sure you can use the top hole and the middle hole and not the second top hole. of course it will be off-center and look kind of funny because the Emporia is a pretty wide charger. But that of course is up to you. Here’s a link to the Page I found: www.emporiaenergy.com/EV%20Charger%20Technical%20Specs.pdf
I like doing things myself but I have solar panels connected to my heater as well as electric. Im assuming that the Little Gray Box will still help conserve energy?
Yes, of course. The more and electrical device is turned off he more energy you’re gonna save weather it’s connected to solar or the grid.
Everything backwards. Always build your load side first. Finish in the breaker box. Don’t shove your wires into the breaker while you’re working on the connector. Do not copy this guy.
Weird my reply is not staying. Testing testing
Ryobi?
I know I know 🤷♂️. I’m a sucker for 200 tools that take one battery.
I know it’s no longer done in kitchens because of GFI protection, could you have run a 12/3 and done a shared neutral circuit? save wire box fill and time.
Yes, many times a 12-3 is pulled here for a disposal and dishwasher sharing the neutral. You have to make sure each breaker is on opposite phases otherwise you could overload the neutral. Yes, definitely can’t be a GFI .
Is the disconnect breaker it’s compatible with aluminum-copper ? I have 19702 home that need disconnect on my water heater ?
Here is what I found off of the home depot link to this item: Highlights - Used to disconnect power from an air conditioning unit - Features a metallic enclosure for outdoor use - Puller type with no fuse - Compatible with copper or aluminum lug wire range 14-3 - ANSI certified and UL listed I would imagine it's good for aluminum or copper as stated above. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@YourFloridaElectrician thanks for the reply ! so the aluminum is 8 Awg and copper load to the water heater need 10 awg to connect the disconnect. my question the size the awg difference would compromise to a hazard situation.
@carlosh448 the wire sizes for which you speak according to the manufacturer they accept aluminum between 12 to 2 awg and copper between 14 to 2. You will be fine . You can find this information on the link to the item in the description.
i would have drilled and tapped the box for a ground screw. cable clamp screw and two wires under one screw is not code for a ground. cool vid otherwise.
Good eye Denny. I think I attempted to twist them together then stuck it under the existing screw. In hindsight I should have just made a pigtail off that screw and tied all them together. Your suggestion would have worked as well. I am working on my whole house Leviton video. I have it recorded, just have to do the editing. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Did not properly torx the wires in the charger. Not good.
Sometimes all the steps don’t get captured on the video. Torquing is a very important step. Homeowners won’t have a torque tool, but regardless the connection still need to be torqued.
Good afternoon. is it possible to connect to 220 volts? [ IN L1/L -phase ] [ IN L2/N zero ] [ grounding ]
Yes. The charger is designed to be connected to 220~240 volts. Line 1 to line 2.
доброе суток дня . можно ли подключить на 220вольт? [ IN L1/L -фаза ] [ IN L2/N нуль ] [ заземление ]
Yes. 220~240 volts L1 to L2

Does the flood light have individual turn off switches
Lisa. I have one switch in the master bedroom that turns them all on / off. It is usually left on all the time but should we hear something we can turn the lights off for one second then back on which will make all the lights come on and stay on overriding the motion settings. This really lights up things nicely. To return to normal operation I turn the switch back off for a few seconds then back on. After a startup time of them being on they will return to motion only operation.
Thank you for your thoughts on road tripping a Tesla. I've recently bought a Model Y and have been using the FSD trial for about 3 weeks now. I'll definitely be purchasing the monthly subscription to continue using it. Have only taken a 228 mile half-day trip so far. FSD was really good on the multi-lane rural roads. I keep the Tesla Mobile Charge cord in the subtrunk. At home, I use my spare J1772 charge cord from my previous car (2022 Chevy Bolt EV). Charging the Tesla has been awesome both at home and with the Supercharger network. As you explained, I can go pretty much anywhere in the US without worrying about charging the Model Y. I live on the coast of Georgia, but lived in the central Florida region for about 20 years. I loved living there. Also, I've rented cabins up in North Georgia (Mineral Bluff, GA) quite a few times. It is beautiful up in the mountains and I always enjoyed my time there. Enjoy all the adventures you and your wife have in the Tesla. And thanks again for the thoughtful and informative video!
Lee, thank you so much for watching and commenting on the video. Charlie did an awesome job talking about his experience with his road trip and charging his Tesla. The furthest I’ve been with my Tesla is South Georgia, but it was still awesome. It’s nice to hear other people like yourself thoroughly enjoying the car and what it can do for you. There’s a lot of electric haters out there which simply tells me they’ve never driven one or used one for a vacation. I was fortunate enough to get my full self driving when I purchased the car in 2021 and have been one of the original 2000 beta testers. So I have seen the car go through some major changes since then. There’s many cases where I would prefer the car to drive because I think it would actually do a better job than myself! It definitely drives safer than I do. I’m heavy on the accelerator and follow a little bit too close. FSD doesn’t get butt hurt if it gets cut off and does not get road rage. It only wants to get you there safely. Thanks again for sharing!
It sounds like youre trying to convince yourself more than us. And im a jw and refuse ev's

Excellent video, I love the details. I saw that you were having issues with the scheduler. Was that fix, and what was the issue? What was the size of the junction box ?
So the issue with the scheduler with this particular EV charger is you have to make sure your EV’s ready to charge instantly not set to a schedule. Then you can use the EV charger to schedule its charge anytime or instantly as long as the car is ready and expecting a charge . As far as the junction box, mine was a 5 x 5 x 3 a bigger one would work 6 x 6 x 4 or something similar . Thanks for watching and commenting !!
I’m about to install the same , what should I charge for just the labor ? Please help .. I’m in Seattle wa.
Up to you. Everywhere is different and everyone situation is different. Charge enough to make it worth your while to do it.
I’m about to install the same , what should I charge for just the labor ? Please help .. I’m in Seattle wa.
I’m not sure the cost of living there. If it’s a very similar, install being a short run as far as the conduit and wiring. Several hundred dollars at least. Again that’s completely up to you and your expenses and your living situation if you know the person, etc.. I wish you the best of luck with your install. Please keep us informed how it goes.
How much would be the labor for this ?
That’s highly subjective and depends on where you live really. The cost-of-living, etc.. it’s up to you but for me it’s $500 all day long.
It smokes and dies after 2 months don't make my mistake keep the box I will still gonna return it, not good for big yard, and heavy-duty tasks must be minor.
Wow thanks for the update on yours. I guess I do have a small yard maybe 1/3 of an acre. Mine still seems to be going strong. 💪
What size hole saw
Having issue. Why 70A double pole is needed for 125ft run of #6 wire??
Hey Derek. That question is from something mentioned in the video? If so can you specify at what timestamp?
I’m sorry. I was asking for my situation. I’m installing 50A hardljne wolfbox Running g 125ft of copper from breaker. Need to figure out what type copper I’ll need for 70 A double pole.
@@dereklemox3342 No need to over kill and waste too much money. You only need to breaker it at 60 amps max. Using #6 THHN wire (one red, one black and one green and installed into a conduit) instead of #4 wire for a 70 amp. The difference here alone in the wire size over 125' you will be thanking me for. The max charging speed for this charger is only 50 amps anyways. That translates into about 12,000 watts per hour. 50 amps x 240 volts = 12,000 watts. 125' is a long pull. Make sure you have some help. Hope this helps. Let me know how your install goes. 👍

Cool website and cool products. Thank you 🙏
Very helpful video. I live in florida too. After watching your video I feel more confident to do it myself. But instead of 60amp breaker, I would like to use 50amp breaker, which can output 40A and I think that’s enough for my case. And I hope you can see my comment and give me a advise. My question is : - Can I still use 6AWG THHN (for Ground Wire and 2 Hot Wire) with the 50amp breaker? - And does the position of red wire and black wire is matter ? If somehow I can’t figure out? Thanks a lot !
Nhan. Position of the red and black wire doesn’t matter. unless you were doing some sort of sense metering or smart home metering and you wanted to keep the faces correct. You can run number six with the 50 amp breaker. You can always go bigger with the wire size but not smaller. So keeping it at #6 is fine. You could probably downsize the ground wire to number eight if you wanted to save a couple bucks. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please be careful and turn off your power during your install ! Like, share and subscribe ! Thank you!
I will thanks again 🙏
