For me Agro's return at the end was even more emotional than Agro falling into the chasm. There's really not much I can say that hasn't already been said thousands of times over about this game. Even after 19 years S.O.T.C. is still discussed, scrutinized, studied, played. That alone speaks for itself. And that soundtrack. Kow Otani has made some great music, but his soundtrack for this game is probably what he'll best be remembered for. Very excited to see what Fumito Ueda has in store for us next. Nice review/discussion.
Actually the game that would have been the main inpiration for Darksouls would have been Kingsfield, made by the same devs in 1994. Kingsfield had many similar concepts to added to the first popular Fromsoft game; Demonsouls, and that was then adapted to Darksouls in 2011. Great video and great game as well none-the-less!
I thought ICO inspired Dark Souls? Not SotC. Miyazaki mentioned it himself, ICO is what inspired him to seek a career in the gaming industry: "On a personal note, after I graduated from university and started working, I took a break from gaming for a while, when by chance I was at a friend's house and was recommended to play ICO. There were beautiful experiences and stories there that I had never imagined, that were untold, and although I felt very sorry for my friend, I was quietly moved and rendered speechless. With that in mind, I quit the company I was working for and entered the game industry at From Software. I'm not exaggerating or anything, it was a game that changed my life, and I'm proud that it was ICO and that it was Mr. Ueda's game." Taken from Famitsu interview, look it up. The title seems misleading.
You have to introduce sotc in the title with reference to dark souls? As if people aren't already familiar with sotc in and of itself? What has the world come to
@@Scarlet_Haze23 I don't have a problem with the video. The framing makes it seem like the reference to dark souls would've been necessary to understand what was going on , which is absolutely not true
Shadow of the colossus is the one game that will live in my heart forever
Holy crap underrated channel just subbed
