    Ive actually never heard of FOMO. It sounds like YOLO. I think it comes from a lack of purpose and structure. I was like this during my partying years when I felt like I had to go out somewhere just because it's the weekend & I was bored. Like you said, when you have a plan, you're disciplined & working on developing yourself it's hard to get distracted or feel like you're missing out on anything

      @@jmobrawler Im actually proud of you for not knowing the term lol. I agree wholeheartedly with the second part. If you get in a certain vibe for certain weeks your brain learns a new pattern. That's true. But in this case it's the only thing which gives us a reasonable explanation + there are a lot of other papers which examined the direct effect of the smartphone on our brains to back it up. So yes I absolutely believe that the smartphone/high speed internet/socials are responsible for the enormous rise in burn-out, anxiety, depression and even suicide.

    Honestly, i v e been on retention for 3 years and I didnt notice a difference at all between how women perceived me before and after. And even if it was, I guess it was too subtle for me to notice. I also heard about the fact that women can smell the sweat different on a man who retains. I want to know your take on semen retention and if it helps with dopamine levels. Not talking about porn. Just sexual activity in general & if it helps or hurts dopamine levels. To be transparent with you, my issue is Ive had a very sexually active past, promiscuous too. So I started the retention thing last month the keep me on track. I dont think this is an uncommon thing with single men like myself, so would love to see a video with your viewpoint on this topic if you havent covered it already.

    • @PeakPerformance-Lab
      @PeakPerformance-Lab Місяць тому

      Bro good that you are so open about this topic. Will look into making a video about this. I've led a very promiscious lifestyle too in the past, but now I think different about some things. So I will never judge anyone. Not the guy living a promiscuous lifestyle, but also not the guy who marries when he is 17 years old. I just try to give the best practical advice and people need to te decide for themselves what they do with that. To be short: porn is absolutely bad and evil (but you already know that) The relationship between masturbation without porn and dopamine is more difficult. I know for a fact that when you abstain 7 days from masturbation your testosterone serum levels go up to 150%, but this effect slowly diminishes after a week. If you masturbate without porn you will get a dopamine spike and after that your dopamine will return back to baseline. With porn you go below baseline afterwards, because the spike is way more intense. So masturbation won't hurt your dopamine receptors on the long term, because it's simply a thing that has been around since the beginning of mankind. With that our brains are evolved to handle it, contrary to porn, video games, junk food, scrolling, you name it. Disclaimer is that you don't do it too often, but if you do it every 2 weeks for example, that's not a problem. But if you are in recovery mode with nofap or a dopamine detox, I would absolutely advice to abstain from masturbation at all, because you want to heal your system as quick as possible. Besides of that there are some other benefits with semen retention, for example the discipline you build. I wanted to make this a short response for now, but that didn't work out lol;)

But when you make it the sole reason of dating someone (in addition to their other long list of requisites, fit, tall, money, family guy, etc.), then they just make it so frustrating.
